Illustrator :: AI File Saved To PNG Or JPG Changes Color?
Feb 17, 2014When I save my AI file, it saves in the correct color scheme but when I go to look at it on a different computer, the color is off. The blues are greener etc.

Jun 15, 2012I've found this a most irritating issue already since CS1.I use Pantone colors a lot in my designs and always have the Pantone Solid Coated Color book open in Illustrator. However, no matter how often I save workspace, as soon as I close Illustrator and restart the color book has disappeared from my palette settings and locations. I have to re-open the color book every single time.What is the problem with this? How can all the other windows be saved in the workspace settings and preferences, but not the color books?
And why is this issue not yet addressed, when it's been coming up already since CS1? It's not a computer / preferences file issue.CS1, CS3, CS5 and now CS6 were all installed on a brand new (empty save for operating system) computer.

My co-worker uses CS3 and can't open the template I made using CS5. I haven't found an option anywhere to be able to downsave the template file to an earlier version. allow my co-worker to open the template file without having any compatibility issues?

Sep 24, 2013I've always in the past brought a logo file that a graphic designer provided into Illustrator and then exported a psd so that I could bring it into Photoshop on layers and get the exact size, etc that I've wanted and since Illustrator CC I've not been able to do this with any .ai files that I've been given. It always gives me this message after I've gone through the process: "Photoshop file could not be saved" no matter what the settings are. This means I have to use the eps file that was provided which is not nearly large enough and when I try and resize it ... what a mess

Sep 11, 2013I have filled a dot in the "I" of a logo with a radial black gradient to represent a ball. When I save as a pdf, the once gradient ball turns to solid. I tried saving the file in ai first and then saving that file to pdf, but that produces the same results. When saved as a jpeg for web, th eimage is perfect. Must be something I am missing in the pdf settings...?

Feb 7, 2013Made a simple type and shape design with a solid backdrop. When I tried to export via save for web to jpeg with high settings, it came up online with subtle but visible alterations. Behind my shapes are speckled like dust, it looks super low quality.
I tried using ps to save instead, I even tried removing the backdrop and remaking a whole new document and just moving select items over, then recoloring..which was not the best attempt but same result.
I'm not exactly sure what her color settings should be to avoid this. Im working at 6500 x 6500 right now. Here's a visual of the up close issue. All over its less quality. And Im saving at top jpeg settings in RGB. I really don't want to tell her she has to begin all over again.

Mar 12, 2013When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.

Oct 8, 2013I have an Adobe Illustrator CS6 document with body copy set using 6.5 pt. Helvetica Neue LT Std. - Bold Condensed & Light Condensed.
After saving the file as a PDF in Illustrator using the [Smallest File Size] setting, closing the file, and opening the newly saved PDF in Illustrator - the 6.5 pt. text is now 5.53 pt. with a vertical scaling of 117.65%.
This PDF is for client review purposes - on screen or laser print - not for reproduction. We try to keep the file size as small as possible to make downloading and e-mail attachments manageable.
In this case, my client is opening the PDF in Illustrator to double-check the text point sizes for legal & regulatory purposes.
If I save the same Illustrator file as a PDF using other settings like [High Quality Print], the text size is unchanged.
I was able to repeat the issue using Helvetica LT Std in place of Helvetica Neue LT Std.

Photoshop :: Color Differences Between Photoshop And Saved File
Jan 21, 2006I currently use Photoshop CS2, but I also encountered this problem on Photoshop Elements 4.0.
Whenever I am working in Photoshop, my blue looks purple, my red looks orange, but my green seems ok, however when I save it, the colour is different. I know it is not the gamma because that affects everything, not just how Photoshop looks (I'm pretty sure). If someone could help me and tell me how much of a loser I am and give me some simple solution, that would be great because it's a pain not being able to see what it is really going to look like without saving it and looking at that.

Lightroom :: Setting To Force Saved File Back In Line Next To File That Was Edited In PS?
Jan 23, 2013When I send a file to Ps from Lr, edit that file then save it, Lr puts that file at the end of the line instead of next to the file I was working on. When you have 600 photos in a down loud, it is a pain to scroll through the photo's to find your place again.
Is there a setting to force the saved file back in line next to the file that was edited in Ps?

Jun 17, 2012When I open a ps file in illustrator some objects change color when I move them and are displayed correctly in preview and Photoshop. Also the object seems to be duplicated. It should have the same and only the colors of the scale bar. In another file the image part is correct and the scale bar is incorrect.

Apr 17, 2013When I have a file in Illustrator that I want to save as or export as a PDF or JPEG whenever I save it the colours shift and the quality drops.Most noticiably black boxes goes to a muddy brown when saved to JPEGS, but I have also noticed tones in Photographs change quite a lot when saving as PDF.
I have tried to tweek every type of setting there is. higher resoulution, compression, sampling, down sampling, PDF preset, print quality etc.but nothing seems to sort it out. PDF's arent as much as a problem as the JPEG but the only way I have managed to get a PDF up to a reasonable standard is by wacking everything up so there is no compression or downsampling which makes ginat files I cant email....
Im sure the problem probably lies within the combination of each of these together but I cant seem to find out what that is. Also brown in the seat base has gone more orange and the whole picture has generaly lost quality.

Nov 12, 2013I have a problem with the “Save for the Web” results using Photoshop CS6 running on Win 7 x64.
My photos are already in 8 bits and in sRGB and when I save for the Web I check the option “embed color profile”, uncheck “convert to sRGB”, metadata to “copyright and contact info”.
When I open the resulting photos in Photoshop, everything is fine as it recognizes the embedded color profile. Same thing when I open these files in Firefox, Safari or Chrome: the colors are correct.
Now, when I right-click on a file in the Win Explorer and look its properties, the line about the color profile is blank, as if there wasn't any. This doesn't bother me but the problem appears on my Website created with Joomla and using for the display a module, Responsive Image Gallery, which creates resized copies of the photos. At this point the copies have completely lost their color profile. I entered in contact with the module's support and they assured me that it preserves the embedded profile, so I come here to gather some information about how this “Save for the Web” embeds the color profile because may be I just didn't understand how it does and if it's different from the “Save as” way.
The fact I can't see the profile through the Win Explorer makes me think Joomla's module doesn't either.

Sep 3, 2013Im having a really bad day working on CC Illustrator, i copied a .ai file and a .eps file from my old computer to continue working on a logo. And everythings works well, without the colors.
I want it BLACK, 000000, but the Illustrator turns it into differnt blacks and brown! Never seen this before.
When I copy my work back on the old computer and open it on CS3 it shows that it is black, but when i copy it on my CC Photoshop it shows up brown?
I tired making a new file, copying things over, making a new project writing randoms things but its all brown, and i tired to change both CMYK and RBG, and ofcourse the color! It worked fine if I wanted blue or red, but not BLACK.
Illustrator :: Can Change Color Of All Objects At Once In Complex File?
Aug 9, 2012I have very complex file, with hundreds of paths, shapes, text, outlined text, etc... It's a brochure with graphs, scematich drawings and text.
Last moment, the client like the reverse the colors from (current) Black on white, to all White on dark gray background.
Problem is, I can't seem to find easy way to just change the colors, without selecting one by one, every single object. When I selest all and choose white, it start filling paths with solid fill... Editing it wastes allot of my time and I have many pages to do.
Is there any way to simple change color of everything at once, just from black to white ? Or do I have to go object by object manually ?

Jun 19, 2012My illustrator CS6 crashes when i try to open an AI file with RGB color mode. I worked on this file yesterday and changed it to RGB mode. Today i tried to open the file again but illustrator won't open it and crashes. It does work when i want to open a file with CMYK color mode.
