I just got Paint dot net and started painting a picture right away. Now I want to use a color from the picture (in the same picture) but don't know how. After reading a bit, I realize I should have saved it in a palette. Is there any way to retrieve and use a color in a current picture that was not saved to a palette?
View 2 RepliesI've found this a most irritating issue already since CS1.I use Pantone colors a lot in my designs and always have the Pantone Solid Coated Color book open in Illustrator. However, no matter how often I save workspace, as soon as I close Illustrator and restart the color book has disappeared from my palette settings and locations. I have to re-open the color book every single time.What is the problem with this? How can all the other windows be saved in the workspace settings and preferences, but not the color books?
And why is this issue not yet addressed, when it's been coming up already since CS1? It's not a computer / preferences file issue.CS1, CS3, CS5 and now CS6 were all installed on a brand new (empty save for operating system) computer.
Is there any way with 3.5.8 to name the color inside the palette so the selected color name will display somewhere in the palette (if a name exists)? If not, then as a feature request for version 4; when the user hovers over the color with their mouse cursor, a small pop up will display at the cursor tip with the color name listed in a palette file comment. This feature would allow for quick color selection by name for projects that are color name specific/customer color specific. The current process of referencing a palette text file RGB code list with commented description, then entering the required RGB codes for each color needed can be a bit time consuming for larger projects.

I've closed psp, re-booted the computer, then opened psp. No change.I reset the workspace to default, which sometimes fixes issues, but again, no luck.
I'm a GP2 modder and as of now I'm using just PDN for edeting cars and stuff. GP2 has its own pallette of 256 colors.
Is it possible to load a *.pal-file into PDN? And is there a awy to expand the color-pallette shown in the color window? Is it also possible to save .*bmp with one special 256 pallette?
I am working on creating a banner for a website and I am looking to use a couple colors from which is included on a jpeg that is provided for me, its been forever since ive tried creating anything and i wonder is there some way i can take the colors from the jpeg to use in my own color palette .
View 2 Replies View RelatedBut I have and EP3 and am using Olympus Viewer 2 to manipulate the RAW images, I then edit the TIFFs in PaintShopPro 4. I have also calibrated my Dell 2410 with SpyderPro4.
My challenge is that the image edited in OV2 looks very different when viewed in PSP 4. I think the issue is that OV 2 is embedding a color space of "sRGB IEC61966" not the profile I set up using Spyder (as shown in the information screen of the resulting TIFF). when I open PSP it then says it is converting the "sRGB IEC61966" color space to my Spyder profile.
I have set OV2 to use Color Management and to "embed profile when saved". The monitor profile selected is my Spyder profile. Is this a bug? Is there a setting I should use in PSP4? Or si the problem on OV2?

My foregorund pallette is X'd out (i.e. a circle with a slash through it). I have this also when trying todraw a poly like a circle or rectangle.
Also background eraser does not erase fully anymore.
I scanned a document into PSP X5 and I am trying to use the materials palette to highlight (in red) certain spots on the document. The palette defaults to grey shades only. I reset the workspace to factory defaults and even tried the SHIFT-START - without luck. However, if I open any color images, the palette shows full color options. if this is a problem with how I scanned the document into PSP X5?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a shape with a Pantone Color and then decrease the opacity in the color swatch palette, then go to my swatches palette and select "Select All Unused Colors" it highlights the pantone color being used in the file. In previous version, it never did this. This is for CS6. Any know fix for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow I choose a color for any new objects I want to create. I've opened the toolbox with ctrl-b, which appears on the left side of the window. If I want to , for example, draw a red rectangle, I use the rectangular selection tool, then the bucket fill, and I don't see how to change the foreground color to red.
I've read elsewhere in the forum that there should be two rectangles somewhere on the screen that show foreground and background color, but I don't see them anywhere.
Working in Illustrator CS5 on a Mac. When choosing a color in the palette, the preview showing up is different than what is in the palette. If I hit "OK" the actual color chosen is the one in the palette, not the preview window... Including some pics for reference. In my 10+ years of using Illustrator, i have never seen this.I am using a Dell monitor on a mac... not sure if that would make a difference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I save gifs on my paint.net it tends so save very large files, much larger than when I save them as pngs however when I go and re-save the file on photoshop as a gif, the file ended up much smaller than both As an example, I had a sprite at about 28x16 px, when I saved as gif in paint.net it ended up as 969 bytes, then as a png it went down to 400 bytes, but then I went and saved in photoshop as a gif it managed to get down to 206 bytes.I would like to know how I should go about trying to get the gifs saved in paint.net down to about the same size as the photoshop ones ideally, as I am working with a friend who does not have photoshop and I would like them to be able to save smaller gif files on their end

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the “Save for the Web” results using Photoshop CS6 running on Win 7 x64.
My photos are already in 8 bits and in sRGB and when I save for the Web I check the option “embed color profile”, uncheck “convert to sRGB”, metadata to “copyright and contact info”.
When I open the resulting photos in Photoshop, everything is fine as it recognizes the embedded color profile. Same thing when I open these files in Firefox, Safari or Chrome: the colors are correct.
Now, when I right-click on a file in the Win Explorer and look its properties, the line about the color profile is blank, as if there wasn't any. This doesn't bother me but the problem appears on my Website created with Joomla and using for the display a module, Responsive Image Gallery, which creates resized copies of the photos. At this point the copies have completely lost their color profile. I entered in contact with the module's support and they assured me that it preserves the embedded profile, so I come here to gather some information about how this “Save for the Web” embeds the color profile because may be I just didn't understand how it does and if it's different from the “Save as” way.
The fact I can't see the profile through the Win Explorer makes me think Joomla's module doesn't either.
The color I see in my foreground selection is different to what I see when I add it to my artwork. I am working in CMYK, the mode is normal and the opacity is 100%. I haven't seen this before, so I am wondering if the client artwork that I am working on may have had some inbuilt settings that have superceded my settings (is that even possible?). I am using CS3 Photoshop on a PC, and the upgrading or modification of either is not an option.

Photoshop has Adjustment>Hue/Saturation but obviously is not the same.
I'm using CorelDRAW X5. When I used version 12 and earlier versions, the color palette displayed on the right side of the screen showed color names. (I think you only saw the name when you selected a color.) Now instead I see only numerical values.
Is there a way to restore color names here? It seems this should be a simple option, like display color values or color names.

I've been working on scenery tiles to serve as ground textures for an X-Plane airport. To get seamless transitions between the tiles I work on four tiles at the time and subsequently copy this large image to four smaller ones. Before I started out I ensured that all images were converted to full color (millions of colors) since they came with a limited 256 color palette in the first place. Still, during some copy and paste operations I've got tiles with a drab hue. So, it evidently takes the palette of the image I paste it unto which would make perfect sense if that palette was limited. However, it shouldn't be!
I've got around the problem by pasting problem tiles unto other images or started from scratch with a white canvas. It seems that any existing palette is limited and will skew the hues of a layer being pasted unto it. I work with *.xcf, then *bmp and finally *png in case this makes a difference. So, does a "full color" *.png still have a limited palette? Further, is there a way to ensure that a selection will retain its hues beyond starting out with a global choice of millions of colors?
PSP X4 does not save the last crop settings which I used. In older versions the program saved the last used settings (dimension of the crop frame in pixel) and this was a good thing. Now in version X4 this does not work anymore. Is there a setting to switch that on or is it a bug?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a workspace saved as Default.PSPWorkspace. Every time I start PSPX4 I have to select File > WorkSpace > Default.PSPWorkspace so that all the settings for Palettes and Toolbars are as I need them.
Is there any way to set a saved workspace to actually serve as the default without having to select it every time PSPX4 starts?
I can't open files saved in X4 in v9. I couldn't figure out the text tool in X4 & saved the file so I could finish in v9 but v9 says it is not a valid PSP file. This is very frustrating since I need to be able to use v9 until I learn X4. Second, I have 64 bit version of Thumbnail view installed but it still doesn't allow me to see all of my PSP files in Windows Thumbnail view.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever PSP X4 is restarted, the Materials Palette reverts to factory defaults. All the saved colours I have used are lost, and the background/foreground are both black.
Is there an option that can override this so it remembers the last settings? My workspace has been customized and properly saved in every aspect except the Materials Palette. It always reverts back to default settings.
