I have a problem making labels. I designed a label (to be printed out on fabric), 5 x 5 cm, then tiled it to 20 x 20 cm (to be sent to a printing shop for a print proof), but every time, it comes out as 40 x 40 cm, with only 4 rows of 4 labels, which means that the label itself has doubled in size. I don't get it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGetting used to using tiled viewports, and wondering how to keep the viewports from reshuffling/resizing on a temporary basis, so I don't have to keep manually resizing them whnever I, say, maximize one view to work on it. When done working in one maximized tiled workspace, I'd like to return to the previous orientation of the tiles. Right now, I have to manually resize/reorient the tiles. Any suggesitons on how I can return to a "preferred tile format"? For instance, I might want a plan view, two elevations, and a 3-D, with some tiles larger than others, to return to reglarly after maximizing one to work in temporarily.

I've been using GIMP for a while but it's just recently I've come across this issue as I have to deal with something I've never done before. I have a .gif that I want to tile across the canvas of an image to use as a background. Then I have a normal image I want to show on top of that. The main issue seems to be the tiling, as when I export the whole thing as a gif, it plays each iteration of the gif before going onto the next one. I want to know how I can get them all to play at once.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add an alignment table, but the curves seem to be labelled twice. When I first labelled the alignment, the curves were C???, so I tried again. After a lot of messing around, I finally got C1, C2, etc., but the table lists C1 & then C?. I've thawed & turned on all the layers, but there aren't any C??? labels on the alignment. Another alignment in the same drawing worked fine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using GIMP for making textures for a 3D game. These textures are drawn by hand and making those "tileable" is a bit awkward most of the time. There's all sorts of manual methods but I'm wondering if there's something that will take care of this in real time. Anyway what I'm looking for:
Is there a way to create layer groups which contain the very same layers at different locations? Or displaying the same layer group in two places next to each other? So stuff I draw in one place is "cloned" in real time to another layer or group? What I want is the ability draw seamlessly, so when I draw at or past the layer borders on the bottom I automatically draw at the top border.
I can kinda achieve this manually either by offsetting a layer or by making the layer bigger in size than the texture I want and then cutting and pasting the details beyond the actual texture size to the opposite side. But those are very awkward procedures, especially when working with many layers that have to be drawn and edited separately. Is there maybe some automated feature that takes care of this for me in real time?
I've noticed lately that when I save and load files it sometimes takes a lot longer than it should. When I checked out the file sizes I noticed that their size seemed to be at least a gig (1GB) bigger, sometimes doubling in size. I know it's not layering, images or xrefs or anything like that. I've dealt with this problem before by inserting the patch URL... However it doesn't seem to work anymore; I think it's because I upgraded to Windows 7. I get this error when I try using the patch.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a double-layer DVD burner and attempted to burn a DVD of a 2 hour home movie in Ulead VideoStudio 9, but have been unable to do so. I can burn it if I shrink the compression, but I don't want to lose quality - which is why I got the double layer burner in the first place. I know it's an older program, but I didn't think I would have so many problems trying to the double-layer disc to work. I have downloaded the upgrade patch for dual-layer burning from the web, but it still hasn't worked. When I burned just the image file (.iso) and tried to use another program to burn the disc, I noticed that it didn't finish saving the entire movie - it stopped when the file size reached 4.2 GB - which is right at the max for a single layer disc. How can I change the settings so the .iso image file will continue working/saving past the 4.2 GB since I can get close to 8 GB on a double layer disc? I'm missing about the last 10 minutes of my video - I need around 5.0 GB for the full movie.

I don't get it.
Isn't the whole point of adjustment layers is that unlike duping the bg layer you save space on your hardrive.
Like in a hospital. How do you do that? Treat them as seperate doors? Door and window assembly would be 2 doors in the schedule. Our schedules only schedule one leaf size.

e.g - Original 16bit Tif was 228.96 MB, 7304px x 5478px @ 300dpi, once cropped down to 7304px x 2390px @ 300dpi and saved as becomes 405.21 MB.
Using photoshop CS6 extended and OSX 10.7.4.
i get a 1 pixel size image when I double click the zoom for 100%.Fit screen or full screen is wacky too, not fitting or filling and sometimes going way beyond.

I have a basemap with labeled contours and the text sizes I am using all look good both in model and paper space, but when I xref the same basemap into another drawing, the xref of the basemap looks good in model space but the size of the labels on the contours from the basemap in paper space look way to small..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have changed some pipe sizes in Vistas (pipe network edit), the object sizes are changed in plan & profile views except the pipe sizes in label, it appears the same sizes as before.
I tried to re apply the labels in entire plan & profile, still be the same.
I find the default interface in CS6 difficult to read as the menu/tool labels seem very small to me. I can manipulate via Windows, but then the fonts in the windows of all my other apps are too big.
Is there a way to change the size of the fonts in labels in the user interface within Illustrator itself? I thought there used to be a way in preferences some where, but that was a long time ago - maybe even pre-CS?

One day, my Toolbox suddenly started showing "double tools". All of the tools are repeated twice.
I've played with all of the Toolbar setting, but I've been unable to get rid of this annoying problem!
I have an image that has a white background but that darkens in the immediate neighborhood of the image in question. So I do a bucket fill (red) with the threshold of 15 that sets the entire white(ish) area to red. So far so good. But then when I switch to fill this red area to white with the same threshold, I find small pixels of red adjacent to the image. I don't see how that is happening since the first fill set the entire filled region to one color (red) and I would expect that the second fill would completely replace all red with my new color (white).

View 8 Replies View RelatedRunning Mac os x Mountain lion (latest release 10.8.3 I believe) and Latest release of Gimp (just installed last week 2.8.4)
If I double click and open a file (file format doesn't matter, jpg,tiff, xcf etc) the file opens gimp and it opens correctly.
However If once gimp is open I try and double click on another file it pops up an error "The document "text.xcf" could not be opened. Gimp Cannot open files in the "Gimp Image" format.
If I then close gimp and double click that same file it opens gimp and the files opens as normal.
It doesn't matter if i'm logged in as administrator or a regular user. I've tried downloading the program and copying it back to the app folder again.
Perhaps I need to wipe out the GIMP folder in ~/Library/Application Support ?
I have a cheap mouse and quite frequently while using the free select tool, one click will result in Gimp automatically connecting the current points to the beginning of the path. my mouse is to blame and I experience mouse issues in other programs too... mainly one click will result in double click actions.
so I was wonder how/if I can turn off the feature where double clicking would connect the path of the free select because I kinda have to refrain from using the free select tool because I don't get very far before it connects itself to the beginning.
When I went to make my business cards, I had the settings at 2in x 3.5in 300dpi in GIMP.
When I go to print them as business cards using GimpLabels, you can only see the very top portion of my image. After switching the ruler settings to pxl (in the corner) I noticed my image is actually 2500 pixels by 3500 pixels. Obviously a business card is not that big. So... Is there anyway to easily scale this to the correct size?
I actually have about 10 different versions of this card I have to print.... So it would really suck if I'd have to go in an manually scale every one of them. It would be nice if GimpLabels would scale it itself you know?
