Sep 17, 2013I've been exploring migrating my Design and PrePress departments away from Illustrator & Flexi and transitioning to Corel. Unfortunately I've hit a major stumbling block
Right now I have a team of designers laying out sign designs. They draw each sign and we generate a message schedule for those signs in excel. From there, we've been able to use the print merge function in Corel to transfer all the messages from the data sheet to the signs. The problem is, each sign is placed on a separate page within the Corel file. I know you can then use print imposition to gang those signs for printing...but the problem is we have a laser engraver, rotary engravers and routers that are all being run. I've fairly certain we could "print" to the laser without any issues but I'm not as confident regarding the other machines.
Typically once we have the drawings of every sign created (currently doing this in Flexi), we have programmers that gang all similar components together on files that are used to power the rotary engravers. Because the print merge function in Corel puts each sign on a separate page, I'm not sure how we'd be able to transition without having to copy, paste and place each sign back on to a single page. Our jobs often run into the hundreds of signs so the extra labor required would kill any savings such a transition might bring us.
Is there a way to combine pages post print-merge, to get all the objects on a single page? I had really hoped to be able to gang all objects together on a single page within a single file.
CorelDRAW X6 :: Can't Move Objects By Click Dragging Mouse
Jan 19, 2013I've gotten into a mode where I can't move objects by click dragging the mouse with the left mouse button. I've looked everywhere to see if there is some config parameter that changes the meaning of mouse buttons, but have found none. I've rebooted and reloaded Draw and nothing has changed. I'm sure X6 didn't come this way, even though I've only been using X6 for 6 months or so. I click drag move objects all the time, so I'm sure I'd have noticed this. I've even tried resetting the workspace, but holding down the F8 key while loading Draw doesn't seem to work.

Next: Proposed linework *.dwg x-ref file
Front: Everything else in that specific primary file
I generally dislike nesting x-refs if I can avoid it.

Feb 20, 2012I was trying to recover a temporary file but as i know now, it's impossible. I entered a few commands relating to grips and something else wich i don't remember, and now I'm unable to lock/unlock viewports and when I select objects to copy and then press _CO or copy button or copy with base point, it deselects the objects and asks me to select them again.

Sep 4, 2012I've got a problem following playing around (Typical, isn't it?). Architecture 2011 allows editing property sets from external objects through the host drawing (i.e. change a room number of a property set attached to a space xref'ed in from another construct). This obviously has to put an editing lock onto the xref to prevent data loss in case somebody else works on the xref in the meantime. This editing lock is removed when I close my host drawing. However, the lock is immediately restored when I re-open the host drawing.
How can I release the xref file lock again after editing the property sets in my host drawing?

I'm looking for a macro that would select everything on a page, flip it vertically, and do so throughout a multi-page document - I just had to do that manually for an order of 236 acrylics (all in one multi-page file!) and it - well - was a bit tedious I can make a macro to select all and flip - but I'm lost when it comes to getting it done throughout a file, I can only get it to do that a page at a time.

I tried making PDF and importing it into corel but most of logos not coming well bcz those are bitmap, some bitmaps are viewing as a horizontal sliced.

Sep 22, 2011when we set a document to print in landscape in Corel and then leave it as portrait in the printing preferences, it will print landscape which is fine, then if you put it to landscape in print preferences (still having it as landscape in the program) it will print portrait!

Both of the above are happening on a HP 5550 laser printer, we have 4 classrooms each with a 5550 printer in.
