Can I assign a hot key/combo to lock, and/or unlock objects? When you right click on an object, the LOCK command shows an underline beneath the "L" indicating that this is possible, but I cannot figure out the magic combo.
View 4 RepliesI am a CorelDraw rookie with a deadline and I am stuck. The problem is this: I have a lot of texts and at times there are objects that should come within the text. So I put it there nicely but when I delete or add something in the text, the object does not follow the text so it all gets in a mess. Is there any way to lock an object to a certain point in the text, so when the text changes the object follows? Does it
make sense?
A company I used to work for had a custom set of dimensioning tools in the tool palettes. We had issues with people dimensioning on the wrong layers and they included an instruction(?) in these custom commands to dimension using the correct layer i.e. current layer set to 'Border', select custom linear dim command and dim is drawn in 'Dimension' layer.
My question is, what to add to the macro in the properties when creating such a command button to do this? ^C^C_dimlinear <add something here to use a specific layer?>

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile keeping snapping to object command switched on, CorelDRAW refers to the center line of the outlines of objects for snapping. That is if I have 2 rectangles with 0.5 line weight each and if I move on close to another so that the gap between them is zero, then while doing snapping, the outlines of these two rectangles get overlapped which I don’t want.

I'm trying to assign a jpg file to an eyeball and the file (containing the retina of the eyeball) comes out enlarged, even though it is not supposed to.
I'm using Blinn Material and hypershade to bring that texture to the eyeball, but every single time I try it, it comes out enlarged (see image attached). I've made sure I click on the Planar Mapping key before I try to copy the image onto my eyeball. I've also tried modifying the size of the image on Photoshop but not luck. If it matters, I'm using Windows 7.
I had done a logo in an older version of Corel, when I open it in Corel X4, the curves are invisible, and there appears to be no way to give those curves color. I can draw an independent curve and change the color of that curve, but cannot do the same with the existing curves from the older version.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Adobe user who is somewhat new to the Corel world. In CD12, I was able to successfully create a workspace and workflow that mimiced AI. In CDX4, I've run into a snag assigning the "v" key to the Pick Tool. I get a msg. in the dialog box that describes it being already assigned to a nebulous "tool modifier". Because of this, I am unable to re-assign "v" to the pick tool.
View 8 Replies View RelatedX6 becomes very unstable when using fills with vector patterns. There is, for whatever reason, a lower limit for the size of the pattern (1 inch) that is way to high for most textures, so the only way to work around is to calculate the wanted size of the pattern tiles, enlarge the object accordingly, fill it, assign the size with object attribute and renormalize the size of the object. This used to work fine in prior versions, but X6.3 already crashed several times instantly or soon after the procedure at my site. This is not amusing.
Is there maybe another way to get past the silly one inch pattern size limit?

I need to move the pointed end around but I need for the wider end 'face selection' to stay put or be locked in space. The rig was made with bones and skin with constrain and look-at controllers on the bone and nub.
I've tried linking verts to point helpers with linked xform and I've tried every kind of contrasting I can find and I just can't get the result I need. My goal is to have the end faces lie on the thin purple wall and be perfectly locked to it so that when I move the point everything else follows but the faces against the wall to be rock solid.
You'll see me move the pointed end around. Then you'll see me select the faces on the end.
Is there a way to lock the material of an object, ie wood grain on a stud, so if the stud is rotated, the material stays in the original orientation to the object instead of stay relative to the world?

I'm using the Rotation tool to turn body parts around their usual connection points, moving the transform centre point each time. I'm wondering if it's possible to "lock" the centre point for any individual object to a certain offset from the object's actual centre, so that every time I reselect an object to move it I'm always rotating it around exactly the same place. I find that if I have to move the centre point from the real centre to where I want to rotate around every time, I'm not getting the exact same spot in relation to the object's bounds, which makes for some weird movements.
For example, the rectangle that makes up the upper arm should have its rotation point always about ten pixels down from the top and in the horizontal centre of the object. The elbow right at the top edge, but also in the horizontal centre, of the lower arm. etc.
Is it possible to assign a "grab" command to the button on the Wacom Intous 4 pen?
At the moment in Painter 12 and Artrage, if I hold down the button closest to the tip on the pen, then press the pen to the pad and drag, it will grab the canvas and allow me to move it around the screen. I cannot figure out how to set this up in Corel Draw X5

Material mapping.
When I apply a material to a mass element the material follow the world UCS, that's ok with me. But when i rotate the mass element the material map remains with the world UCS but not with the object.
How to lock the material map to the object when I rotate it.
I would like to lock the size of an object regardless of the zoom percentage. When I am zooming in on a vector map (main layer) the objects (on different layers) becomes very big. So I should be able to zoom in/out on the vector map, but the objects shall keep the same size. How can I do this?

I am a C# developer and not very familiar with coreldraw(when using with c#). My problem is that i am programmatically importing image on a curve using the following C# code.

Now when i run this code the image gets placed into the curve bit it gets stretched vertically means the face of a student(that comes from imagepath) get stretched vertically..When i do this Manually with scaling and sizing ratio locked it gets properly inserted in curve....
Resizing objects is a mess in CorelDRAW X6 when objects are outlined with Scale With Object enabled to retain proportions after resizing.
None of the tools dealing with outlines (e.g. Contour or even Outline itself) continue to work properly after resizing the object.
I strongly suggest to recalculate outline property values after resizing if Scale With Object is checked. Don't just do it hidden somewhere internally in the object model by applying a temporary scaling factor. Instead actually recalculate the actual property values if Scale With Object is checked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to exclude single attributes from being defined in a object style? As example: i want to define an outline that does not change width of the objects, but everything else.
There is a small tick box right of every attribute with help text "None this object attribute is not defined by a custom style" but i can not mark it. My feeling is, that i need to switch on this tick box to get the result i need, but i can not. When i click on it, it just gives me a greyed out "Revert". When i try to make child styles, there is a way to break the connection to parent style with these tick boxes, but no luck.
Is it a bug? I tried it with X6, X6.1 and X6.2

Trim the master object and the cloned object gets deleted.The master object cannot be directly trimmed, so I grouped it with another object, which seems to enable the shaping tools. check if this behavior exists in X5 also.
I have inserted a clip about the problem. Maybe other users and the Corel staff will check it out.
Occassionally the object properties in my object manager will dissappear and I am unable to bring them back. I have tried toggling all the buttons on the manager, restarting corel, resetting corel to it's default settings and restarting my computer but nothing will bring back the properties. It does not happen on every single file but it happens often enough to be a pain. I have attached a picture of what the object manager looks like.

After I import different files in my working file, it's getting hard to work- RAM(16GB) is getting completely full and its almost unworkable!
I checked out Object Manager and found stack with "SVG data" and "Locked SVG data" object there under some basic shapes.
Stack is about from 10000 to 100000... Some times even more, but its not possible to select all them because Corel just stops. What is that- "SVG data" and "Locked SVG data" object and why they are so many there?
It involves right clicking on an object in Corel Draw X6. I had this same issue in X5 too.
My issue is that if I select an object and then right click on that object (I right click on the "X" in the middle of the selected object) it will select the object below the "X." In other words, I can only ever get the right click menu to appear on the object I select if there are no objects below it.
