I recently purchased CorelDraw x5. There used to be means to treat closed curves as not filled. But I can't find the means. I think in x4 I simply checked an item in a dialogue box.
At present if you click inside a closed curve [e.g. a rectangle] the curve is selected. That makes selecting items inside the curve separately. Which is a real pain, since I use a rectangle as a figure frame.
I use CorelDraw Windows 7. Everything was fine for 2 days. Now, you can not publish to PDF from. We use CorelDraw for 3 years at the PDF edition for my work. Now the pdf is empty by opening acrobat and zoom is set to 5603%. I get this error when I try to change zoom to 100% "document (14)."

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using CorelDraw X4 on a Windows Vista Home Basic System. Trying to "Publish to PDF" produces empty PDF Files, with a page size of 0 mm x 0 mm. The original File has a layout of (German) A4 and a textbox with "Test".
There are no error messages.Even using a PDF Printer (FreePDF XP) doesn't produce a file, but gaves the error message
"%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: -0,15789 ]%%GhostScript Error 1. Error, no PDF file produced! (False)".
When I edit a picture and save the result (using either "save" or "save as" and making sure there are ticks in "Save in Elements Organiser" and "Save in version set with original"), the edited copy is often (perhaps 3 times out of 4) treated not as a new version but as a new file. When I close the edit, I am told that there is a new file in a watched folder. When I accept this, I am offered any tags which were applied to the original (which works a bit) but then have to find my way to the edited file and the original, and manually make them into a set. It adds a couple of minutes to each edit. I am using Photoshop 11 on a Windows 8 laptop with a 1000GB hard disc (with about 100GB free). My catalog is quite big- about 70,000 items. I am a long-time Elements user (since the original?). This problem is fairly new (ie months not years)- certainly since I moved to V11. This is independent of the format of the original (in my case, RAW or jpeg) or the edited file (in my case usually jpeg).

This only happens in Internet Explorer (8and 9) but not in FireFox. Disable Popup blocker in Tools and the links open as a blank page. Disable the whole toolbar and it works. Google Chrome does not treat it as popups. I know it has not much to do with Xara.
The photos I edit through LR do not print the way they look in the develop module. I have calibrated my monitors and I am printing in photo mode on my Epson printer. The same printer produces accurate color for photos that have not been treated in LR. I am using the free trial version of LR.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I usually work with corel, I export my files in .png when I finished working so that I can use them in Power Point or whatever. It was never a problem and still works with most of my files, but I have now one file that simply doesn't want to be converted.
I export it like usual (--> export --> .png) but than in the preview it shows me nothing but an empty bar-like part of the file, so basically nothing. The .png file that is created it empty.
When I went back to work on the Mesh from yesterday, it was filled with white. How do I get back to empty mesh?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe memory the program is using balloons over time because it does not release memory after you close files. In the course of a day, the memory the program uses gets into the 8-10 GB range (we have very large files such as vehicle wraps and large full color signage). The program will start and occupy under 100mb of memory and then when you open a file it will allocate the memory for that file (say 1 GB). Then when you close that file, the memory isn't released or even re-addressed (it just seems to be in limbo at that point). So after 2 dozen or so files the memory the app is taking up gets into the multi-gigabyte range....even without a single file open (the app is running with no open documents).
Now the system I am running has 12GB of ram, so I am not running out of memory yet, but it is still quite alarming to look and see only 2 GB of ram free on a 12GB system with no open files...
I cannot imagine why the programmers wouldn't have the app release the memory it's using. That seems like really sloppy coding to me. (programming 101: when your app is done with memory, release it.).
The system configuration is as follows:
Core i7 980X 3.33Ghz (6 physical cores with hyperthreading), 12 GB RAM, 4-way RAID-0 SSD HDD array, Windows 7 64-bit, Corel Suite x6 (updated to 6.3).

I have used PEDIT to join multiple polylines, which now appear as polylines. But when I use QSELECT to show all open (non-closed) section, one polyline still shows up as open.
I've attached the file I'm working on. The polyline in question is the green outline on the object on the right.
i want to have multiple offsetoutlines on a closed or non-closed path. with "offset path" i can make only one additional outline but i need multiple?
i searched all over the net for answers with no success.
I'm tracing a picture of a boat using the beizer tool. Now that I'm finished I would like to select everything I did and turn them all into curves at once, but it will only let me select sections at a time...how come? Is there a way to selet them all and turn them into curves or do I have to select one section at a time?

Things have been fine until I updated to 6.2.
I will create artwork in Corel Draw, save it and then export some elements out to another format.
Then I try to close the drawing and exit.
CANNOT DO EITHER.
I get an error that says 'Some of the documents could not be closed because some tasks..background. See status bar for....'
What the heck is going on here? I cannot close the file. I cannot exit the program. The only way to get out of Corel Draw is to end the program through Task Manager.
This update is bad news. I don't know how to go back to 6.1.
I have a large line of text (110 characters) with no spaces in it that I'm trying to fill into a 4"x6" area, with the text wrapping / font size scaling as needed.
The problem is that Corel is breaking up the text at a hyphen leaving a lot of empty white space at the end of the line after the hyphen.
If I remove this one particular hyphen (there are many), then no problem. I've already checked for hidden (newline) characters.
The "Use Hyphenation" option is unchecked and there is no formatting going on other than the size of the text box itself.
I've taken over the spot as art person, and to put it nicely I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not sure if I did it or another person who has been on the program. but now when I am accepting files PDF CDR from other people I am no longer recieving the option to import as text or curves. It is automatically importing them as curves. Which is all fine and dandy for fonts I do not have but it leaves me unable to edit the text as needed without having to redo all the text for the fonts I do have.
Where can I find the option to make that option re-pop up when I am importing stuff?
When converting text to curves, it seems to move the text a fraction to the left. How to avoid this?

I'm a web developer currently slicing an illustrator file for web graphics. Some of the icons and images have shadows, lights, etc, and it's impossible to simply see by a naked eye which pixels contains some shade or nearly transparent color and which doesn't.
It would be extremely useful if I could somehow easily differentiate between empty and non-empty pixels, so I wouldn't miss any when slicing.
when you export any size graphic as a jpg (selected only or not) the dialogue box comes up empty, completely! when i go to close it, it crashes corel. If I tick the donot show filter dialogue box It makes a jpg image but i have no control over the settings. It works when I export to bmp! this is getting frustrating as I often have to jpeg some graphics for customers.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is the second time I've had crashes in X6 64 bit, the first time was importing a very large "XLS" file, and then today while converting a selected group to curves it crashed. I restarted Draw opened the file that I had saved but not converted the part of the drawing I wanted to cut to curves, as soon as I tried to convert to curves it crashed again. Restarted the computer with the same results. I got the job to the cutter so it is not holding me up, but I did want to let the powers that be know about the crash. And I have been converting at least some of each drawing I do to curves with no problems, nothing had changed in the computer so it makes me wonder what's going on. The computer is a i5, 8 gb ram, 2 gb video card, Windows 7 Ult.
