Write a macro to suggest file names in the open, save, import, export dialog boxes. Its such a simple and user friendly thing that all other software, even the Old corels used to do that.

I´m trying to extract text from a Corel file to a TXT file in another editor and then merge it back in.Extracting the text seems to be working just fine but when I´m trying to merge it back in I get the error message "Wrong file format or could not open".

But when I paste it, it keeps the Emails or Word Documents Font, Size & Color instead. I think I clicked on the wrong thing when I first installed Corel. I cannot locate my Corel disc to reinstall it.

The strange thing is I received two files from the same person the first one was fine. It odd the first five lines are printing but not the rest of the text. I can re-type the text but I was wondering why it's happening.

I am able to remove the text, move things around on the pdf image using Corel Draw, but I want to edit the actual customised text to name it differently, in the exact same style as previously used by the designer.
E.g. it currently says "Green Tea", but I want it to say "Coffee".
Is there a way to do this at all using any of the tools?

I keep text as text boxes, not curves - so I can correct it later, if needed / I have this problem many times. I tried to tweak Options - (Workspace and Document) - Save, but it doesn't seem to work. Besides, I tweak options like "Use graphic objects compression", "Save blends and extrudes with the file" without understanding what are they for...

I'm transferring a 1st draft book from a PDF file by copying and pasting text and photos. So far, so good.
During the pasting process, I've selected to maintain fonts and formatting. Despite this, the text gets pasted with only some of the formatting and some correct fonts. But that's easily fixable.
All the text, now in X4, is Left Justified. The author has requested that it be Full Justified (looks better). When I select a paragraph and Full Justify it, the words/lines shrink further to the left. Altering the Spacing from the default 60% to 100% allows it move to the right, but not all the way to the right of the text box.
I've tried hyphenation. Still, there's a limit to how far right the text is allowed to go.Force Justify stretches it all out fine, but the spaces are too big between the words.
I made a new text box and typed in the same content that's in a paragraph of the pasted text. It Fully Justifies perfectly!
So, there seems to be some invisible 'barrier' within the pasted text stopping the Full Justify process from working properly.

I am having an issue with CD X6. I opened a file created in X5 using the new X6 and it worked just fine. The problem is when I send the file to my image setter to image a plate, part of the text in the heading of what is to be printed is getting lost somewhere in transmission. When I view the file in the print preview in CD all the content is there, however, when I view the raster image at the rip station before imaging the plate I notice parts of the text in the heading is missing. I have attached an image of the raster file .
Now when I send the same file using X5 the image goes thru without any issues and all the content is secure. I created a new page in X6 and copied over the text that I am having trouble with and the same thing happens. I am attaching the CDX6 file with all the fonts used.
So since we installed CorelDraw x6 the one file we have been working on is a long text file and it slowes every thing down drasticly.We did think updating would work so we did that and it still lags.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am building a big catalog for hundreds of products, and it would be a life savior if i could connect dynamically the (customized) text (fields) in the .cdr file to an external excel file data. For example smth like the text field "Title" to be taking its values from the column "Description" of the excel file, incrementally as each line of the excel file could represent a record. This way also when the excel file changes, (because it will be probably like 10 more versions before it gets final), the content inside the corel draw file will change automatically as well.

View 2 Replies View Related(CORELDRAW X6.3) Today I tried to export a .jpg file (text file) for a banner that was 6ft x 18ft. The export function wouldn't allow the 18ft, but changed it to like 9ft.
Tried in same in X3 and had the same result.
I could export the file as a .pdf and it worked just fine.
The question is, is there a maximum export size?

We have to create a file to be engraved that has 2000 consecutive numbers and we cannot figure out how to make them appear stacked using the merge feature.
For some reason I am having issues converting a CDR file to PDF which contains objects/text with fountain fills.
I have looked at some previous posts detailing the same problem, have followed their remedies, i.e. "render complex fills as bitmaps" in the advanced tab in the PDF conversion pane. Despite these best efforts I am still having the problem of my black background; fixed in the "page layout" tab being corrupted, resulting in the background being the fountain fill once converted.
I'm perfectly happy with the TrueType font (BankGothic Md BT), but all the style settings change to the T1 equivalent every time I close, and when I open the file again the T1 text does not show up. I can go through and reset all the styles, then re-apply them, but it wastes a lot of time.

My boss is using CorelDraw x5 on a Dell Studio lappy w/ win7 x64, his question is... If you accidentally stretch text and don't realize it till later is it given a value that can be compared to other text so you can conform it to the rest of the text? Is this a tool or what? The scenario is you accidentally stretch text minutely, save the file, copy and paste this text to another file with same format to realize later it has been manipulated and doesn't match.

In all these documents, if I open the text paragraph window and typed on it, the entire program will crash if I exit that window after finishing.
I discovered that if I typed directly on the text paragraph, it will not crash. That means do not open the text paragraph window to do editing. But this makes editing very slow since it seems to be more memory intensive.
Strange the auto-backup directory/folder always do not have my backup files too.

The problem just came today while i tried to copy/paste text from Ms Word. As I usually do it asks me about formatting options before pasting text but today its not working the way it should. It simply pastes plain text without all formatting I did to my document in Ms Word. I even tried to repair my software but nothing worked.

I have drawn the shape, inserted the text as paragraph text, but the text always wants to sit straight. I am so frustrated as I can find a workaround in either Corel or Adobe CS products. I have tried using artistic text in Corel, but have to do it line by line - and this brings other problems, such as I cant justify each line with each other, and sometimes a character jumps up relative to the other characters and the entire paragraph does not taper in...so this is not a solution, apart from the fact it will take me FOREVER to insert line by line....I would like to treat the text as a multiple line paragraph, and follow the shape.
