Jul 31, 2013Is there a way to make the foreground color the default fill color? Having to click that every time is difficult.

CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6 :: Importing DWG / DXF Files
May 24, 2013I downloaded the Corel Designer Suite X6 trial version yesterday. The downloading and the installation course ran problem free. The installation was finished successfully The programs were installed on Windows 7- 64 bit platform. After the installation I started to work with the Designer X6 and it was running correctly. I tried to import a 3D dwg. file into a new blank drawing and Corel started up XVL Studio program.
I tried to import one of my existing dwg. 2013 file in the XVL but during the process an error occurred. I tried again with different versions dwg and dxf files but XVL just couldn't import the files and I always was given the same messages. "Unable to import ... file". I'd like to insert my existing 3D drawing as vector graphic in Corel in order to editing technical illustration.

I am trying to figure out if there is any way to customize the Workspace, change the color of the entire background like you can do in autodesk autocad? Are there any plug ins I can download for different menu bars or completely change the layout of everything?

Jul 13, 2013Although it may sound strange for 2D projects and rapid technical presentation drawings I have for many years used CorelDraw. I like the ease of use and usability. The problem is the speed and response program for complex drawings. That does not compare to AutoCAD or similar (Archicad, Allplan, etc.). Closest to my idea of approaching is Vectorworks. The price is also important. I welcome the mentioned speed, simplicity, 100% import-export DWG, opportunities to work with bitmaps.

CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6 :: Unwanted Color Change
May 29, 2013Corel Draw X6 - The document converts automatically all objects (including text) from c0 m0 y0 k100 to c72 m58 y53 k79. No matter how many times I set black back to 100 and the rest to 0 when i open the document all black colors are again in the cmyk mix.
If you try to convert back to k100 using the find and replace command it says the document can't find that color.

Sep 29, 2013I have downloaded evaluation versions of Technical Suite X5 as well as X6 from Corel's website and face the following problem in both versions (both are 32 bit).
resolving this issue with the callouts:
While drawing callouts, the shape menu is not visible. I have reset the workspace several time and played with all possible options before writing on this forum. Actually, the menu did appear once but subsequently disappeared. While the menu was visible it was great to have text boxes at the end of the callout that automatically adopted to the size of the text. How to I activate the callout shapes option? I have included a screenshot of the menu from the pdf manual for your reference.
CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6 :: Exporting To CGM Get Outlined Halo
May 14, 2013When I export to a cgm file the callout halo shows up with an outline. This happens in a program called IADS. If I drop the cgm into word the callouts and connector lines do not show up at all. Is there a reason it does that? Also some text will show up doubled or tripled sometimes when converted. If I delete that text re enter it and convert its fine. since not to many company's use cgm format anymore.

May 12, 2013X6 becomes very unstable when using fills with vector patterns. There is, for whatever reason, a lower limit for the size of the pattern (1 inch) that is way to high for most textures, so the only way to work around is to calculate the wanted size of the pattern tiles, enlarge the object accordingly, fill it, assign the size with object attribute and renormalize the size of the object. This used to work fine in prior versions, but X6.3 already crashed several times instantly or soon after the procedure at my site. This is not amusing.
Is there maybe another way to get past the silly one inch pattern size limit?

Aug 14, 2013I am working as a graphic pre-press sublimation artist here in Australia. At the moment we are having issues with fades not looking good when we print them using the Onyx 10 program. We get magenta lines running though our fades, predominantly when we fade from royal to white. However! when we print using onyx 7 the fades work fine. It is not viable for us to use onyx 7 for all jobs as the colours lose a lot of vibrancy.

Aug 29, 2012I have been working with both Corel Draw 12 and and at some point Photo Paint just froze. Empty main area, just one docker opened. Doesn't matter where I click on the screen, the same metallic clicking response. I uninstalled the whole suite and installed it again.
No difference, the same screen starts and the same freeze. I can only close it using Task Manager. Corel Draw works find and Photo Paint works fine on the other computer on which I installed it at the same time.

Jan 16, 2013Where can I find the default full-color pattern fills in CDX6? I don't see a folder for Patterns in the Corel file in programs. I see a Patterns folder in CDX5 but it doesn't have the default pattern I need. I need to change the color. I noticed that custom made patterns go into My Documents/Core/Vector Patterns.

Jul 3, 2013Every time I double click on a bitmap in Corel Draw, it opens up Photo Paint. How can I disable this option? I never use it and its a waste of my time because it takes too long to load up! I don't know if my mouse has a problem, but sometimes I can just click once on a bitmap and it triggers the photo paint to open.

Mar 7, 2011When trying to open an EPS file in Corel PHOTO-PAINT, an error appears indicating that "The file cannot be opened".
AND, when PP is trying (unsuccesfully) to load the file, it also convert it into CPT, instead of keeping the EPS format.
(Photoshop can open EPS files without any problem...)

Jul 30, 2012For some reason I am having issues converting a CDR file to PDF which contains objects/text with fountain fills.
I have looked at some previous posts detailing the same problem, have followed their remedies, i.e. "render complex fills as bitmaps" in the advanced tab in the PDF conversion pane. Despite these best efforts I am still having the problem of my black background; fixed in the "page layout" tab being corrupted, resulting in the background being the fountain fill once converted.

Aug 7, 2012I have been unable to find a macro to perform elliptical fills, or for dynamically interactive fractal/"plasma" fills.
It would seem to me, that these could have already been written by any of the experienced macro programmers for CorelDraw. No interest, or are these sort of fills too difficult to programmatically implement through a macro?

Nov 13, 2012After creating text in Draw X6, I can't drop it into Photo-Paint without it appearing to be improperly cropped; i.e., some outer edges of letters appear to be cut off (see example below). Converting the text to curves does not solve the issue.
Strangely, I have no problem if I copy the same text from Draw X5 - the results are excellent.

Sep 12, 2013Every since I updated CDx6, Photo-Paint no longer allows for drawing or erasing in a straight line by clicking, pressing the alt key and clicking again. Instead a scale comes up that changes the brush opacity...What happened? I can't figure out what happened. See attached file. The red arrow indicates what comes up when alt is pressed.

Aug 21, 2012We upgraded to x6.1 and are having some issues. I have X5 and X6 installed on my machine. When using X6 and you add a new page to the document, then publish a PDF. The PDF will show grid lines on the new pages. This happens with new docs and previously created docs when we add new pages. Also, on the new pages, you can't disable the printing in the object manager.
Second problem, when you have a bitmap in your document and click on it, Photo Paint is available. Only the trace option. Edit Bitmap is grayed out on the Property Bar and not available when you right click the image. I have to open Photo Paint and copy the image into it. There are three of us having the same problems.

CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6 :: Cannot Change Size Of Paragraph Text Frame - If Turned By 90 Or 270 Degrees
Sep 4, 2013I converted a DXF file to a Corel Designer file. This DXF file also has some dimensions which turned into paragraph text. This paragraph text is turned by 90 degrees. The font size is rather small, so I increased it by some points. As the paragraph text frames were now too small, I tried to increase their size. However, the text frames always jump back to their original size.
I experimented a little bit and noticed that this is only, if the text is turned by 90 or 270 degrees. If the text frame is not turned or turned by 180 degrees, you can change the size of the text frame. Additionally this problem arises only, if the option "Expand and shrink paragraph text frames to fit text" is activated (in Tools | Options | Workspace | Text). Sometimes some text frames were adapted automatically, when I changed this option. However, I do not know when which text frame was changed.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Photo Paint Storing Images In Wrong Orientation?
Jul 12, 2013I don't know if this is just a Windows 8 compatibility issue, but when I save an edited photo it is stored in whatever orientation I opened it. Also the thumbnails only show the original imported image, not the edited image.
For instance if I took a picture in a sideways orientation on my smart phone then opened it in PPX5 I can rotate, edit and save and it will show the original image in a sideways orientation. If I post the image on Facebook it will show up sideways. If I put it on a forum it may look okay but people with iPads and iPhones see it sideways.

Normally CorelDraw x5 will launch Photo Paint when you choose Edit Bitmap from Corel Draw. Then you can edit in photo paint and on save and close you are back in Corel Draw and able to continue there. However this is not the case for me with Parallels 7. It does not launch Photo Paint as expected.
