I know how to change this in illustrator is it possible in draw?
I want to be able to specify the line weight of a path to be either centred on the path or inside/outside the path. How do I do this?
I'm trying to understand what is making the weight of some large cdr files ?- Bitmaps, of course- Complex curves with thousands of nodes, surely- Multiple effects what else? I would like to understand !At the moment some of my files are 20 to 40 Mo. It's begin to be heavy and it leads me to ask you a second question :Do you have some tips to do your .cdr files & .ai exports lighter ?At the end of a work, I often have to export it in .ai, and sometimes it's not good.
Do you know any QUICK method to export without problems with weight, colors or transparency ? On this subject the last version of coreldraw seems to be better.Otherwise, I try to export in pdf and then I open it in illustrator, for finally save it in .ai.But unfortunately I loose the plans in this ways.To return to the problem with .cdr files's weight, maybe must I use the links method, as existing in Indesign?I used before links with bitmaps in Coreldraw but I think it's not very well, lots of bugs.And above all, apart bitmaps, what is making the weight of some large cdr files ?
I select an object, then I select the Relative to object button:in the Property Bar, the X and Y aren't in 0.0 ".I have to deselect and reselect again the object and after that X and Y are ok.Same thing if I deactivate the Relative to object button:the X and Y show me 0.0 ".I have to deselect and reselect again the object and after that X and Y show me the real page's coordinate.

I now have a need to mirror about a line but the line is partially inside the object (so after mirroring the object would be overlapped). When I select both objects and try to create the mirror, the "axis" of the reflection is simply the edge of the object, not the line.
When the line was outside, that worked simply because when you selected both objects the line brought the outside of both selected objects to that point so it simply mirrored / reflected at that point (the line). So the line was not truly acting as a point of reflection. Hope that made sense.
I think I'm about to buy Cadtools from Macromonster but I would like to know if Draw has a way of acheiving this. Hey I may find out Cadtools can't reflect when the line is inside the object.
I would like to add the effect of hand stitched thread around some of my designs. The line tool can change a line to dashes but this is a bit too uniform for hand stitching. I have seen a tutorial on doing this in Photoshop where a brush is made with a few small different length strokes. this is then spaced out and made to follow a path. how to create a hand stitch effect using X5 that looks like natural hand stitching...

View 5 Replies View RelatedURl....I have never used a text box. Somehow when I copied my list of names from another page, I ended up with rows of them. I really really don't want to retype 132 names. I plan to put them on circles. When I try to do fit to path it says its invalid. I deal with text everyday and always know what I am doing. I know how to put text on a path. I just don't know how to do anything with these text boxes. If i break them apart, it first breaks them into individual names, and next into individual letters.

I'm out of practice with Corel since it has been several years since using it. I'm trying to create a point on top of a line without adding a point to an existing line but for the life of me I can't figure out how. I know I can create a new line and drag the points to where I want them on the line but I just simply want to create a point on top of the line.

I've noticed that sometimes when I use an artistic media brush around a closed path, I can't change the brushstroke color without filling the path with that color; see the attached file for an example. I thought that was just unfortunately the way it was.But today I watched Jeff Harrison's video tutorial [URL]...about making a custom brush. He applies it to a closed path, and then, to my surprise, he changes the color and it just changes the color of the brushstroke.
I followed the tutorial, made the brush, applied it to a rounded rectangle, all fine. However, when I changed the color, the center of the rectangle filled with the color as well as changing the brush color, as it always has for me in the past. So what's wrong? Do I have some setting somewhere set to the wrong thing? (I don't have Fill Open Curves checked.)
have number of curved objects which makes a design but goes in straight way. what i want is to follow that grouped objects to a curve .
Power Clip option is not suitable for me as it reposition its original state. is there any other option which can make it in better way.
In X4 there was the option under the Arrange menu to Close Path with several different options like this.
In Corel X5 this option is absent. Is there something equivalent?
Is there a way to stretch the width of text, once it is in an envelope or on a path? You can adjust the kerning(spacing), but I don't see anywhere that you can adjust the width of the letters.
An example: I have the word MAVERICKS on an arched path in a design. I want to change that design for the RAMS, so where it says MAVERICKS it will now say RAMS. The problem is RAMS is a much shorter word and I need it to stretch to the same width as the previously used MAVERICKS.
After two years of no problems invoking Draw or Photo, I received this message today when I tried to start both Draw and Photo... I downloaded and ran the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 (and CorelDRAW Premium Suite X5) Service Pack 3 but it failed because it couldn't find my X5 suite installed on my computer.

View 5 Replies View Relatedin earlier versions of draw you could move one end of line with the pick tool by moving the cursor over the end node grabbing it and moving it where ever you wanted. With x5 it seems that you must go to the node editing tool to select the node. Is there a setting I'm missing that will allow the pick tool to select node?
