I love the function in Photoshop in which you can stroke a selection with a brush. Was wondering if that was possible in CorelDraw X4 as well. I know that we can put text on a path, but is that also working with objects?
Since I like making patterns, I would like to place and distrubute objects along a circle or hexagon shape (and other simple shapes).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI found Oberon Fit Objects To Path as a very interesting macro and i tried to download it.I have downloaded the zip file from Oberon website , but an Error showed up on my screen saying: "Unable to find CorelDraw x5 installation"...
I know the reason for this is because of the x5 version, which i don't have in my system.But i have also downloaded some other macros that are x4 or x5 versions and they are working excellent on my CorelDraw x6.
Any other macros similar to the "oberon Fit Objects To Path" macro?
Having problems with X6 and Align and Distribute?
When using both align and distribute at once, all the items selected bunch up and do not space evenly. When using just align center, it works fine. When using distribute evenly (vertically), it works fine. But when using both, that's when the problem occurs.

My issue is that I have objects shaped like people and would like them evenly around the circle, but rotated correctly so that their feet are all touching the circular path and their heads are always facing out. I have a few objects that I want to distribute to a circle line. I've tried scatter brush (looked horrible) , pattern brush (what you see here).No matter what I do, those objects are distorted.
Clients may want objects to be as many as 30 or 40, so I hope to avoid switching the objects manually.
I often produce graphics in CorelDRAW, export it as en eps file and insert it inside a MS Word document as an image and finally convert it to pdf. This way my vector graphics (often linedrawings with or without fill) usually is preserved in the final pdf document. I can zoom in and the lines keep on displaying perfectly sharp. This is important, since it easily looks bad when thin lines are turned into bitmaps, even when watched from a distance.
Now, in some graphics I created today, I had a circle with fountain fill and outline (symbolizing a sphere) put behind a filled rectangle, which had a uniform transparency applied to it. In the resulting pdf file, the 'sphere' was turned into bitmap. Inside CorelDRAW everything was vector graphics, but something was loast in the process. what happens with the graphics in the different steps in the process and eventually could explain a workaround to make everything look as vector in the final pdf file.
how do you close a path in x6? i select the two duped lines then go to arrange but no close path option. i did it in x4.

View 5 Replies View RelatedURl....I have never used a text box. Somehow when I copied my list of names from another page, I ended up with rows of them. I really really don't want to retype 132 names. I plan to put them on circles. When I try to do fit to path it says its invalid. I deal with text everyday and always know what I am doing. I know how to put text on a path. I just don't know how to do anything with these text boxes. If i break them apart, it first breaks them into individual names, and next into individual letters.

I am fairly new to CorelDRAW and I am having an issue with layering objects that I can't figure out. The problem I am having is this:
I have two line drawings, and one sits on top of the other. Normally, the object in the back is partially hidden by the one in the front. However, I have just done a drawing where the object in the back is NOT partially hidden by the one in the front, and it looks like they are both on the same layer. What happened? I am not sure if I inadvertantly changed a setting, but I can't seem to figure out how to hide that back layer. I have tried using the 'order' function, and that usually works, but for some reason it is not working this time.
Is it possible to convert/open a CDR file to a CPT or PSD file such that the objects are editable. Specifically I need the text to be editable in the resulting CPT or PSD file. I'm using X3.

- Draw two circles & fill them with the same color.
- Overlap them
- You see the overlapping line of the top circle.
- How do you hide just that part of the line so it appears as one object of the same color
- while retaining the overall object outline.

I want to be able to specify the line weight of a path to be either centred on the path or inside/outside the path. How do I do this?

I've noticed that sometimes when I use an artistic media brush around a closed path, I can't change the brushstroke color without filling the path with that color; see the attached file for an example. I thought that was just unfortunately the way it was.But today I watched Jeff Harrison's video tutorial [URL]...about making a custom brush. He applies it to a closed path, and then, to my surprise, he changes the color and it just changes the color of the brushstroke.
I followed the tutorial, made the brush, applied it to a rounded rectangle, all fine. However, when I changed the color, the center of the rectangle filled with the color as well as changing the brush color, as it always has for me in the past. So what's wrong? Do I have some setting somewhere set to the wrong thing? (I don't have Fill Open Curves checked.)
have number of curved objects which makes a design but goes in straight way. what i want is to follow that grouped objects to a curve .
Power Clip option is not suitable for me as it reposition its original state. is there any other option which can make it in better way.
In X4 there was the option under the Arrange menu to Close Path with several different options like this.
In Corel X5 this option is absent. Is there something equivalent?
Is there a way to stretch the width of text, once it is in an envelope or on a path? You can adjust the kerning(spacing), but I don't see anywhere that you can adjust the width of the letters.
An example: I have the word MAVERICKS on an arched path in a design. I want to change that design for the RAMS, so where it says MAVERICKS it will now say RAMS. The problem is RAMS is a much shorter word and I need it to stretch to the same width as the previously used MAVERICKS.
After two years of no problems invoking Draw or Photo, I received this message today when I tried to start both Draw and Photo... I downloaded and ran the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 (and CorelDRAW Premium Suite X5) Service Pack 3 but it failed because it couldn't find my X5 suite installed on my computer.

Having issues with exporting files to an .eps format - using "selected only" some of the objects that I have selected do not get exported - ie. they are missing from the .eps file altogether.
On top of that, most of my colours get washed out to a grey scale - I do work in spot colours.
I have tried f8, and tried reinstalling.
So picture that you have designed something in Corel. Let's say an invitation. I go to put text or a graphic on top, and nothing is going on top. My text is behind. Nothing i do works. (ex. ctrl-pgup, object in front of.... etc.)
Is there some feature that I possibly touched?

I have a series of images that have been designed - very basic shapes (a straight vertical line with a ball on top in which ascending numbers are placed in each one. So effectively each image is made up of 3 seperate parts and look like numbered lollipops. Each of these images are currently evenly spaced apart and formatted so the text is all properly aligned and sized etc - I would like to be able to copy certain groups of these images and paste them into a new working document which is fine, but I then need to somehow re-space them out to scale once they've been pasted in. So for example i have copied them in and they are 20mm apart to each other (as per my original drawing that i copied from) - is there a way of then altering this spacing so that for example so that they are all 33mm apart but still retail the original formatting properties so they are not stretched etc?

It does fix the issue of missing arrowheads on lines, but it doesn't convert the outlines to fills as I expected -- is that correct? I wish there was an option to convert lines to fills on export.
