View 7 RepliesUntil recently, CorelDraw X3 was working just fine. Now however, whenever I change an object's line or fill attributes, CorelDraw automatically sets those as the new defaults, overriding the defaults I had previously set. Clicking on a a color in the palette with nothing selected no longer invokes the defaults dialogue box.
I've looked through the various options dialogues in case I had inadvertently checked a box I shouldn't have, but I can't find anything. I've been using Draw since version 2, so I'm pretty familiar with it. I've never encountered this behavior before. I've had X3 installed for about 3 years or so.
I'm running CorelGraphics X3 SP2 in Vista, 2GB RAM, Nvidia graphics.
I dobbleclick on fill-color icon in lower right side of the screen to change the fill-color. But no dialog-box appear. But if I try to click anywhere in Corel after this I just get a beep. Looks like there is a dialog-box outside screen or something.

I recently switched to coreldraw x5. is there a way to change default guidelines color. and this setting should remain forever.
one more thing i want the green processing filling, which is now present in the background tasks to be visible. ...just like in older versions how can i do it?

I know my code below wont work, just putting here to hopefully explain more exactly what im trying to do
Sub FindbyFill()
Dim sh As Shape
dim findColor
ActiveSlection.GetColor = findColor
For Each sh In ActiveLayer.Shapes If sh.FillColor = findColor Then ActiveSlection + sh
End If
Next sh
In my CorelDraw X6 64bit (v16.3.0.1114) the Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment effect is not working on vector fills, but its fine on bitmaps in CorelDraw X6 and Photo Paint X6 as well.
It's not effective even after trying F8 reset.
Is there any solution to get its functionality back for vector fills also?

We need a macro that will allow you to select a certain color fill inside document and change all to no fill hairlines. It needs to be capable of doing it several times within the same document. Does anything like this exist out there?
We have color replacer. We want it to do this automactically with a static group of colors everytime without any manual maniplulation required.
I often produce graphics in CorelDRAW, export it as en eps file and insert it inside a MS Word document as an image and finally convert it to pdf. This way my vector graphics (often linedrawings with or without fill) usually is preserved in the final pdf document. I can zoom in and the lines keep on displaying perfectly sharp. This is important, since it easily looks bad when thin lines are turned into bitmaps, even when watched from a distance.
Now, in some graphics I created today, I had a circle with fountain fill and outline (symbolizing a sphere) put behind a filled rectangle, which had a uniform transparency applied to it. In the resulting pdf file, the 'sphere' was turned into bitmap. Inside CorelDRAW everything was vector graphics, but something was loast in the process. what happens with the graphics in the different steps in the process and eventually could explain a workaround to make everything look as vector in the final pdf file.
I have followed the instructions carefully and am unable to fill anything.
I make a rectangle. Choose the colour from the palette, drag the little coloured box over to the rectangle and release. Nothing. Many years ago I used my brothers Corel draw, so I know ( or knew then ) how to colour a rectangle.
I want to fill in a circle with letters, not a paragraph of text, but where the few letters fill into the circle space. I 'm using CorelDRAW GSX5

Is there a good way to assign grid node coordinates, other then free hand(I couldn't find a display for node coordinates) . Could you use a cad program, that displays a numeric coordinate for nodes to do the bulk of the grid work and tune it up or add different elements to cad drawing or use cad to do this type of drawing. I have a copy of "Turbo Cad" I have not used yet and was wondering how the different programs compared? I was trying to use the drawing grid guide, but the mesh fill grid lays on top of it and is opaque and and I couldn't use it well inside the mesh fill. I guess I could draw a transparent grid guide and lay it on top of the mesh fill, in a separate layer and lock it down
Is there some kind of guide or document on color placement and the relationship to grid line spacing, node placement and node handle angle and length.
I just upgraded to X5 the other day and started working with it. All seemed pretty normal until I drew a rectangle with a hairline and no fill. I typed in some text and went to click off of it to start a separate line of text only to find out when clicking inside this shape, and any other shape I made, it would select the shape.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the best way to fill a shape with other shapes( a with a specific size), without overlaping, like the example below.
My main concerns are the spacing between the circles, the positioning should be as paralel to the the outside shapes as possible, and the size of the circles ( or any other necessary shape).
I'm doing this by hand sometimes with 900 circles. is there a fast way to this? do you know any macro/plugin to make the task easier?
Texture fill and a printing problem. They may be related. First, the file I am working with was originally created in Corel 10. I'm using X6 in Windows 8.
It is a map. I have several layers but the two layers I am having trouble with are the continental shelf and the land layers.
I cannot texture fill either in X6. I go through all the steps but the fill will not show on the screen nor will it print. I can fountain fill, solid fill etc .these layers and they will print as filled. This is the same for both printers I have, which are also new with 128MB of memory each.
In addition, I can get a fountain fill to print on the continental shelf layer, but cannot get a fountain fill to print on the land layer; even though the fill shows on the screen. I can get a solid fill to print on the land layer.
I've the objects in the proper order, the print is turned on for all these layers, etc.
I have discovered the Mesh Fill tool. I am having a lot fun playing around with it but can't seem to apply it to text.I have converted the text to curves but it just acts as a fill. Is there a way to use the Mesh Fill on Text?

I know there is not a way to change shape of founrain fill directly. But is there any other way for make this? Attached gif video from Adobe Illustrator Gradient Tool.
I have created a curved line across my page using the Bezier tool. I need to fill the page below my curve to make it blue (and above the curve to stay white).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to make some letters and fill them with a background pattern like rainbow.
all the fonts are solid black so I need to know how to hollow them out so the background fill will show, then have to cut out all the letters to get the background around them removed so I have only the letters filled with rainbow that can then be moved around and overlaid like with the gray checkerboard squares thing happening.
Like this: imagine a rainbow backing picture with " I heart Mom" text overlaid, fill the " I heart Mom" with rainbow then get rid of the rest of the rainbow backing that is OUTSIDE the letters. The word heart will be replaced with a heart shape.
I would like to create a diagram like below and want to fill pattern similar to this.
View 8 Replies View Relatedif I have a group of areas that I want filled... I can select uniform, fountain, and postscript... but why doesn't pattern work for a group? This would be useful and seems like a bug. Why would I have to apply the fill to each part of the group? Groups are supposed to be useful for manipulating multiple objects in this way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am not a power user but have used CorelDraw since ver 8. My question is why I cannot fill shapes like the one provided whether I create them in Draw, or import them as dwg or dxf into Draw. It's interesting that I can fill this shape in DesignCad (the source of the dwg-dxf files) but not in Corel. Of course, the project I'm working on needs the other touches that Draw provides and DesignCad doesn't.

I have a question regard removing the outline from a portion of an object or making that portion invisible and still fill the object in its original shape Say for instance I have a circle or a rectangle and I converted them to a curve. I want to be able to make part of the outline invisible and still fill it in its original shape.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there a way in X6 to invert fountain fill values? I have a design that is separated into three spot colors...a black, a red, and a white. I need to take everything that's black and invert all the values. So for example....where it is 100% black , I need it to be 0% and where it is 40%, I need it to be 60. The design has several fades and I need to maintain those, but invert them.
I've tried the Invert tool....but it's not doing what I need it to do. Also note, that the white channel on this design, does not hold all the white info....as some of it is just a low percentage of black.
Here's the design I'm working with, and a screenshot of the channel I need to invert as well.
I create some curves with freehand or 3point curve or else (image on the left). Then I use the artistic media docker to convert it to artistic media. But the artistic media fill is empty.
So I right click on black to fill it, but it fill between the first and last node (image right). Weird.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to be able to set the position of fountain fill to more than 100? Wasn't this possible in previous versions of Corel Draw?Anyways, I want to achieve the result as shown below. The logical way would be to set position to more than 100, and than to adjust the gradient colors manually to get the look with less curved arch as in gradient on the left side. I think it is obvious why this is very important. I know that there are multiple other ways to achieve this, as you can see that I did (converting to bitmap and crop in this situation in this case), but these are all limited workarounds, and the only "clean" way to do this is as I described.is possible to adjust the gradient in toolbar to more than 100 by mouse dragging it, but it doesn't apply to the object.
