I work in Mac OS Mountain Lion. PSD preview doesn't update when i change psd-file placed on external hdd or flash drive (ntfs or exfat).Create psd-file. Сhanged psd-file in Photoshop cs6 (preview don't update).
I have several .dwg files which I attach using XREF so that I can ensure I have the latest versions combined.
The problem is that the line types do not show up correctly. After looking up on google I have found that this is a problem due to it being a 3d model rather than it being flat.
I managed to half solve the issue by inserting each drawing into one, then exploding the whole image. Then changing the scale in the bottom right to around 1:200 to make the line types visible.
My problem is this ends up being a lot of work as the separate drawings can be updated daily. Is it possible to have all the drawings Xref'd in and to be able to have the scale changed to be able to read the line types? I tried to save the XREF setup as a template, then just bind all the drawings into one, explode and change the scale. But for some reason this doesnt work for me. I end up with just solid lines, rather than line types. I don't the drawings are made up of several lines, all of different length. (This I have been told is why the scales do not appear correctly)
I have been shown one method to work around this, which is to open the Xref drawings, explode them, then take each section of line and manually change each scale to the biggest that shows up.
It's my understanding that a change made to a disconnected smart preview will automatically update the main database when connected to the drive containing the photo and database. Mine doesn't seem to work automatically. After reconnecting i have to save the metadata for the changed files on the version of Lightroom with the samrt previews and then read the metadata on the primary version of Lightroom. Do both versions of Lightroom need smart previews installed? Should I use a certain procedure of which i'm not aware? I have an iMac for my main computer and a Mac Book Pro for the remote computer.
How can I update the file path to an XREF which is NESTED? I point the file to the appropriate xref and even though I save the file it won't point back to the file upon opening?
I have a problem with a recently downloaded version of Inventor. When I start a new drawing all I get is a blank blue screen instead of one with a grid display. If I start a line I can see the cursor change to draw the line but a line does not appear. I don't know if it something with how I installed the program or just system settings.
change line weight on a xref, i have went into each xref and changed line weight but when i view in model space the line weight is still printing bold.
Using 2013 sp1.1...After I change the hole size in the part, the callout in my hole note does not update. (crazy, I know).
If I pull a new hole note after the change, it has the correct dimension. But, if I change the hole size again, this new hole note does not update.I put the part on a new idw and it updates correctly, so somehow the idw is hosed.
How do I edit line types? whenever I copy this particular existing line type into the other drawing the text style changes. There is no way of editing it when I go to the line's properties. I want to change the line type's Text style.
I have created city/landscape artwork using photoshop line and box tools. If you go to URL... then click on the link that says (click here to view Gotham City) you will see one of the images I am talking about. Can this image be made to look the same in vector.
I draw, and after, I would like to know, how to change the fonts in my custom line types (for example --HW--) from ARIAL to TAHOMA. If I change my Text syles and reload mu custom linetype it doesn't change the text fonts.
How can I modify the line type/weight? How can I change the color? Where are my object properties?
I have seen a few threads with variations of these questions. I had the same ones, until now. I did some serious messing around and came up with this, I thought it may be useful:
To get the AutoCAD 2012 "Properties" panel in ACA 2012:
Disclaimer: This procedure involves modifying your software's configuration file(s). If you choose to follow it, you do so at your own risk.
1. Open the "Customize User Interface" dialog by a familiar method (I like the keyboard, the command is "CUI"). 2. Switch to the "Transfer" tab. a. If you can't see it, expand the dialog to 2-columns by clicking the ">" button in the lower right corner.
3. Set the left-hand column to "acad.cuix", I'll call this the "source file". a. If you can not see the file, click the "Open" button and navigate to your "Application Data" folder.
i. Win7: {userProfile}AppDataRoaming ii. WinXP: {userProfile}Application Data
b. Navigate further to the Autodesk Support folder:
i. {Application Data}AutodeskACA 2012enuSupport
4. Set the right-hand column to "Main Customization File", or another customization file you intend to use, the "destination file". 5. Expand both files' "Ribbon->Panels" nodes. 6. Locate the "Home - Properties" panel in the source file. 7. Right-click the panel and select "Copy" from the context menu. 8. Right-click the destination file's "Panels" node and select "Paste" from the context menu, it will be added to the end of the panel list.
a. NOTE: You may get a warning that the panel already exists. If you do, click the "Rename" button. The new panel will most likely show up as "Copy Of Home - Properties" b. Right-Click the new panel and select "Rename". Set the name to "Home - ACADProperties"
9. Click the destination file's "Save" button. 10. Switch back to the dialog's "Customize" tab. 11. Using the drop-down, select your destination file as the file to customize. 12. Expand the (a) "Ribbon -> Tabs -> Home-ACA" and (b) "Ribbon -> Panels" nodes in the "Customizations…" (top-left) section. 13. Select the "Ribbon -> Panels -> Home-ACADProperties" panel, a preview will appear and the "Properties" section will populate. 14. Edit the panel's "Display Text" property, change it to "Properties" (this is the name that will appear on the panel once it's added to the UI). 15. Right-click the "Home-ACADProperties" panel in the "Customizations…" section and select "Copy" from the context menu. 16. Right-click the "Ribbon -> Tabs -> Home-ACA" node and select "Paste" from the context menu. 17. Click the "Save" button. 18. Click the "OK" button. 19. Observe your UI, the new Properties panel will appear at the right end of the "Home" tab. 20. Drag the panel to the location you would like it.
a. NOTE: Adding this panel to the tab causes the other panels to resize so the ribbon fits the screen/UI width. If there are any panels that you aren't using, turn them off to allow more room for the other panels. (I turned off the "Transparency" panel, the new "Properties" panel includes those commands in the slide-out, making it redundant.)
b. To turn a panel off, right-click a panel title, select Show Panels, then uncheck any panel you don't want displayed.
Trying to create a dynamic block that will multiply the number of neutral and ground blocks as it's stretched.
My power terminal strips can contain 1 to unknown number of circuit breakers, and each circuit breaker requires a neutral and a ground block.
All the similar items in a stip are grouped together, all the circuit breakers, then the neutrals than the grounds.
So depending on how many circuit breakers I have I'll need the same number of neutrals and grounds, but grouped together.
In the attached block I added the stretch action to move the end cover and end stop of the strip down, but don't know how array/space/stretch the neutrals and grounds so they're grouped together.
The ciruict breakers aren't shown as they can be from different manufacturers and therefore different widths.
Tried attaching my block file but get this error message:
"The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file type."
I want to change the color, line type, width and layer of all my blocks in my drawing. is there a way to do this with out opening all the blocks for editing? I am using AutoCAD 2009.
When I try to open files - ANY files - I get an error message that AI doesn't recognize the file type. I tried importing files and received the same message. I then went back and attempted to open files that I had created with AI. NO FILES will open. I tried re-installing the program, still no dice.
Basically i have created a good size IAM and now need to lighten all of the appearances up. Can i change them in the i am and have it update the individual IPT files at the same time? or will i have to open all the ipt files and change it and save?
Is it possible to run a lisp which can extract all the xref names, make a layer with that name and then change the xref on the layer? I have got a similar routine from earlier posts but it doesn't work if any xrefs inserted in paper space (works fine on model space). could change this routine allowing to change the layer of xref in paper space too.
(defun dxf (i a) (cdr (assoc i a))) (defun c:lxr ( ) (setq ss (ssget "x" '((0 . "INSERT"))))
I am running 2008 and am having a problem using Xrefs in my scene. When I change the material in the Xref file, the parent scene that references the xref doesn't update the material. If I change the Xref geometry it will update it.
I have created a iLogic form for my skeletal part file that drives my assembly. The issues is that it is a few steps to get the assembly to update.
Current Steps: open skeletal part fileuse form to change size parameterssave new skeletal size changesopen assemblypress the update button if changes haven't already been applied...I have tried to link these parameters directly to the assembly and tried to create the form using those linked parameters from the skeletal part file. It looks like it would work, but I am unable to edit the parameters once the form is created.
I am hoping that the I can skip opening and editing the skeletal part file.open assembly fileuse form to change size and dimensions, and all part files and drawings are updated to that new shape and size.
I have tried to create a global Form in the skeletal part file, and tried to update the size changes in the assembly file.I was able to changes the inputs this way, but once I pressed the apply I get an error with no changes. what I want but I am not very up to date on iLogic or these forms. I will be searching Google for now.
My Type Tool does not select type by double clicking or click and drag. (Windows CS 5 V15.1). This is what I have tried so far and the problem still exists.
Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it. Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it. Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.
I have an assembly that changes daily and drawings made at each step of the way using .dwg format. The problem is, that when I add something to the assembly, it addes it to the drawings already made and as a result losses dims and notes that I made. Is there a way to set the dwgs so that all new items added to the model automaticly are no visible in the drawings that were already created. I spend a lot of time changing old drawing to what they used to be.
I should be able to apply an effect to a line that has been made with the line tool. Why is this not working?I thought that maybe I might have disabled Effects somehow, but I can't think of anything.
I know that in ACAD you can use the xref manager to see where the actual file for the xref resides on your computer/server/etc. What I'm curious about is whether or not the inverse action is possible. Can you somehow access the file (not the output sheet where it's being xref-ed) and see what other files are using it as an xref?
I've come in on a project that is nearing completion and have been assigned the task of "cleaning up the project folder." Unfortunately, there are a ton of files in the different folders that are no longer in use on the final output sheets and I need to keep the ones still in use and archive the ones that are no longer needed. What I've been doing is going through those sheets and reviewing the xref manager for each sheet to see which files are actually put onto those sheets and making a physical checklist from which to organize my findings. Once the checklist is made, I then archive all the files that are no longer being used.
I have a Nikon D800 (software up to date) and bought Lr 5 yesterday (software up to date). Watcehd Julieanne Kost TV series on Lr, very informative. I want edit my photographs with Capture NX 2 launching it from within Lr 5. Julieanne explained how to launch Photoshop and I have changed the settings in the dropdown menu for 'photo' to Cature Nx 2 and browsed to find it on my program list. It is now set as the editing program, but does not allow me to chamnge the file type to NEF, which is the filetype I want to use. I bought Lr 5 because the D800 was listed as a compatible camera for Lr 5.
How do I globally change the Xref path to a new server? I tried adding it into the support/working path in Options etc. but hasn't up-dated drawings. I manually changed one drawing (there are posts on this) and it works, but I have many drawings and would like to keep the date last modified also if possible.
