AutoCad :: XRef Overlay - Crosshairs With Circles Appear Dotted On Drawing

Mar 4, 2011

When I insert a X-ref overlay, everything seems to work, but giant cross hairs with a circles appear dotted all around on the X-refed drawing, similar to spot levels (minus the hatch).

Attached an image X-ref image.jpg

How to stop this or why it seems to be scaling up the crosshairs .

I am working with files from an architect and when I open a file with xrefs they all have these big crosshair/boxes all over them.  I can choos edit in [lace and delete the crosshairs but there are a lot of xrefs and it will take for ever.  They are not on the original drawings that I can see. One with crosshairs and one without.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Creating Dotted Lines That Are Circles

Mar 16, 2009

I'm trying to create dotted lines that are actually circles and not square shaped dots (the given option in the outline menu).  Is the best/only way to do this by creating a new Artistic Media Brush?  It seems like there should be an easier option when needing to create a long dotted line or a shape with a dotted outline.

AutoCad 2D :: How To Rotate Crosshairs Without Rotating Drawing

Mar 6, 2013

Moments ago my crosshairs in the model space decided to rotate. I tried to undo, but apparently the damage is done.

I came across a thread on another website about trying UCS, world & plan etc which I tried.

While this did rotate my crosshairs to be straight and normal again, it rotated all of my drawings I have numerous sections on the page and unfortunately they all became rotated.

Is there a way to rotate the crosshairs and not change my drawing?

Photoshop :: Way To Hide Cursor / Crosshairs While Drawing?

Jan 16, 2012

In CS5, is there a way to hide the cursor/ crosshairs while drawing? Since I'm working on a Cintiq I don't need visual reference of where my cursor is - it's where my pen is - and it actually annoys me to have this crosshair cursor in the way of what I'm doing. Ofcourse it's no problem to have a cursor for selecting tools or menus - it's only while drawing that it would be preferable to have a clean working area under the pentip.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Drawing A Pattern Of Circles?

Jul 9, 2012

I am trying to make a hexagonal lattice of circles (1 micron dia, period - 3 microns) and exted it over a square cm in area atleast. The final objective is to make this as a mask pattern for the Laser fabrication/writer. So I create the pattern over a small area and use array command to extend it over a finite area (~500 microns or so). I then combine these points to a single block and then use the mirror command to extend it even further. But as soon as I reach an area of 2.5 mm square, the program seems to slow down and doesnt respond. I assume this is the limitation of my computing power to handle so many objects at once. (I have 4 GB RAM and 97 % is utilized at this time). Is there a way to circumvent this computing limitation, making use of some facility/command within AutoCAD?

I have all the vehicle dimensions that I need, I just need to know how to calculate and draw the geometry.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Combining Two Dotted Pairs Into A List Of Dotted Pairs

Jul 17, 2013

I am trying to add dotted pairs to a list of dotted pairs one at a time in a loop, but I cannot get through one iteration.

The pseudo code is basically

(while (/= nil readline) (if = 0 count (setq 0list (cons 8 readline f))
(count = count + 1) (else (setq 0list (append 0list (cons 8 readline f)))
(count = count + 1)
)
)

The program gets the layer name from a text file and makes a dotted pair out it. When it iterates for the first time it puts the dotted pair into 0list. When it iterates the second time I want it to take the next line make a dotted pair and append 0list.

I keep getting error:bad list and I am assuming it is because it is trying to append 0list which only has one dotted pair in it and is technically not a list. I am not sure.

I have like three different versions of the same code I have tried. Any way to read a layer name from a file make a dotted pair and add the dotted pairs to a list of dotted pairs one at a time that would be amazing.

I get the reading and making a dotted pair part. I just can't get the dotted pairs to add to a master list.

When I make circles or move or objects there are no image guide. like when I make circles only the lines are there I still have to calculate what the diameter is rather than by simply looking how big the circle is. or when I'm connecting objects, It's very hard to connect complex objects by moving them because there is no guide to where the image is suppose to be when the mouse is at a particular place.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Distinguish Hole Features From Other Circles In Drawing / Add Centermarks

Sep 16, 2012

I'm attempting to use VBA to put center marks on each hole in my drawing. So far I have the following

Dim oIntent As GeometryIntent Dim oCenterOfPart As Centermark
'Add center marks to base view For Each oCurve In oBaseView.DrawingCurves '
<- need to identify Hole Features If Not oCurve.CenterPoint Is Nothing Then
If oCurve.CurveType = kCircleCurve Then 'CurveTypeEnum

[Code] .......

oBaseView is the DrawingView object representing the base view the code just placed. I also used VBA to place the projected views oTopView and oRightView. I want to add center marks to each hole when viewed from the end (as circles) and add centerlines when viewed from the top or side (as hidden lines).

I will be iterating through several models representing various handhold styles. The feet can be in many orientations, 99% of them are paralel to one of the origin planes (XY,YZ, or XZ).

This is what my code generates: (The centermarks that are selected are the ones I don't want the code to generate).  This is what I WANT the code to generate:

1) How do I distinguish whether a circle curve originated because of a hole or because of another cilindrical feature?

2) How to I identify the corresponding hidden lines in the other views so I can add a center line?

First, there is no way I can't select them.
Second, zooming doesn’t change their size.

What these small circles are? How to get rid of them?

AutoCAD .NET :: Xref Original File Name Of Drawing?

Jan 30, 2013

I'm trying to get just the filename either with or without the .dwg extension for an xref given I already have its reference (BlockReference) and its model space (BlockTableRecord) all open for read; skipping accessing any BlockTable.

Im doing something like this:

Either get the XGraph and first node or prompt user for a block reference and check it's from attachmentStart active document's database transaction, get the BlockReference.Get the BlockTableRecord only with the BlockReference's BlockTableRecord-ObjectId property. At this point I can iterate through the model space and see the nuts and bolts of the xref drawing without actually changing anything after saving my drawing, even after committing a trasaction. So what I want to know is how to get the filename of the xref'ed drawing (i.e. Original_Drawing.dwg).

I'm looking at doing this without opening the referenced drawing as a side database and checking the filename.I can't debug right now, but is it. myBlockTableRecord.Database.OriginalFileName ?
