When i load thirdparty drawings or DWG files exported from DGN most of the times the DWG loads and ask a few times to load some SHX shape files.
Is there an way to delete those files from the drawing so that it just loads?
We never use those SHX files . With a couple of different xrefs there is sometimes up to 6 of those boxes which i just select 'cancel' since i don't have those files.
I recently upgraded to CS6 and cannot open any past files in CS6 from CS5. Everytime I try I Get "Unknown Error has Occurred"
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not able to save my files and illustrator gives the message 'An Unknown Error has occured'. In a previous discussion transparency is called out as the culprit however I am not using transparency in my document and have checked all the items. I have also tried copying the work into a new ai file however this also will not save. This is has happened to me about 5 times since I updated to CS6.
Update - I just closed Illustrator and lost all my work and then an Adobe update window showed up asking me to update Adobe Air. I recall an Adobe Update window appearing once before when I had problems solving. Could the Adobe update window interfere or prevent me from saving my documents?
I'm using LR 4.3, and would like to know how to determine which .dat cache files are associated with a certain folder of images. I don't know programming code, and, when I open a .dat cache file, I cannot determine which image file it goes with.
I've noticed that when I remove a folder from Lightroom, the cache files for the images in that folder remain, because the size of the cache doesn't change. I know I can flush the cache, but I don't want to have to reload tons of .dat files already present in the cache.
How to remove all the files on the “recent document”?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSometime in the past, I've drawn an arc, probably using an old deedplotting program, and imported it into Map3D.
I now have a new parcel that I'm plotting, and need to obtain the tangent of an arc on the parcel's perimeter.
Typically I draw a line, as close to the tangent as I'm able, and then toy with the bearings until I get it as close as I can.
This is a counter-productive means of finding the tangent bearing of an arc, and I'd really like to find a better way of doing this.
Is there a succint manner that I can pull a tangent line off an existing arc?
Using osnap this afternoon I thought I could do it, with the extension, but in testing it later, I found it was off by a good 2 or 3 degrees. While indeed a minor variance, I'd like to find a better way.
I have always used the "XLIST" command to name the layer of x-refed objects. However, when I now enter the command, it says "Unknown command 'xlist.'"
I imagine this is a customization file issue?
if I grab it the ribbon tells me it is the corridor. Other than that the section looks fine.

We are looking to upgrade from AutoCAD 2009 to V2012 and I have a copy for testing purposes.We have several custom commands linked to menu icons for added symbols such as a gate valve, ball valve etc.
Most of these use the following command

I've worked out that"V:/blocks/pefs/bfl is the location of the block drawing and is stored in #bname, the #prompt is set to tell the block (#bname) to break the line and insert, or, if nil instead of T, then just insert the block over the line. When I click on the icon when using AutoCAD V2012 I get
unknown command "BBLOCK"
but it works just fine in 2009. I can see no reference to BBLOCK and can only assume it is a variable of some sort. I've spent hours searching the forums to no avail.
I receive this error (sometimes) on shutting down AutoCAd Architecture but what it may represent.

I was told that I should download and install DWG compare plug-in to compare 2 dwg files. I have downloaded the file and installed it (at least I got the "successfully installed" message) but when I open AutoCAD LT 2013 it does not show up on the plug-ins tab and using the dwg compare command returns an "unknown command" response.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a set of dimensions, which for the purposes of the 1/2"=1'-0" viewport, are set to a scale of 24x. If I go to adjust some, not all, just some of the dimensions, it kicks it to 576x; this happens if I adjust the placement/grips of the dimension, or even change the precision from 1/32" to 1/8". In the DIMSTYLE dialogue box, I have everything set to the precision and scale I need; I UPDATE all dim's in the layout, and some, not all, still stay at 576x and 1/32".
One "workaround" is to just get all the dim's in place and MATCH them all to the one dimension that is and stays at 24x & 1/8" prec; however, this is a hassle given how many dim's are on this struc. sheet. This is made a little easier using LAYISO, but I want it done correctly as I move forward and not have to keep double-checking every d*** dim before plotting or sending the file to someone else.
Is there some setting, presumably that keeps overriding all of my overrides and settings adjustments? I don't understand how I can create a new dim, and it follows my settings like normal, but I go to adjust it, and it's 576x|1/32", which I cannot track to any setting within DIMSTYLE.

When I puschase the Diamond video capture device, it came with Ulead VideoStudio 10 SE. This program would not work in Windows 7
I tried to uninstall it, but I guess I did not do it correctly. A file is still running. It has to do with Windows color sheme.
After starting computer up, a window appears saying something like Windows color sheme has been changed to 7 basic. Because (and I can't recall all the words, but it has to do with a Ulead file still running)
I would like to completely remove any Ulead files still occupying space in the computer. If I knew where the file might recide I could go into the registry and delete it.
while working on a new file, which only has our 4 standard textstyles, something happened at some point during the work period where multiple textstyles named "AUDIT_1_12030....." and counting up appeared. over 40 of them.
they are all somehow embedded within the each object in the file, even lines, which confuses me. Noweven if i wanted to just copy most of the project excluding blocks, dims, leaders and text, (which was my original assumption that the textstyles were in there somewhere), I cant. I usually am able to remove unwanted textstyles through the TXTMRG LISP/VBA macro. It has no effect this time.
In five years using Inventor I've never seen this- I can't get it the parts list or BOM to register the quantities. Each box comes up with "Unknown Error" and it will not allow manual override to update those quantities.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Architecture 2013 for a while now, but now there is what I beleve to be a configuration issue. Essentially, ACAD loads,but does not recognise any AEC components. The tool pallette no longer has an icon to add a wall, for example. If I load an older drawing that has a wall in it, and select the wall, the Properties window says it is a wall, but none of the blue grips is visible. Right clicking does not give the option to "Edit Wall Style" for example. It behaves as though it does not know what an Architecural element is. If it type "WALLADD" at the command line, it says ""Unknown Command".
The company I purchased it from initially had me do a "repair", then a "reinstall" and then a "Clean reinstall". All of which I have done.
I'm new to AutoCAD and can't seem to find a solution. Essentially I'm trying to create an arc between two points on the X-Y plane and a point above (not directly above) in the Z direction.
Is there any way I can get an arc to snap between these three points? I guess I could calculate the angle of the plane this arc would lie on and then rotate the UCS to this angle, but this seems like a very long and inaccurate way of doing it. I've tried drawing an arc on the X-Y plane and then stretching the centre of it to the desired point above using the grips, but AutoCAD doesn't seem to want to allow this.
I created a new mtext leader and it is set to one scale of 1/4" it shows fine in model space and paper space. Then when edit my drawings to try to add hatch or dim. there is a large text that appears in the background.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just had to replace my desktop computer, reinstalled AutoCad, set it up using a saved profile, everything was working fine until this morning when I came in and most of my buttons on the toolbars return "Unknown Command". Now even when I type in the command on the command line it doesn't recognize the commands. ie _layfrz Unknown command "LAYFRZ) I've gone in and "repaired" the program, shut down the computer for a full restart, to no avail.

Attached is a surface model with parameters which drives an assembly I have. I was testing it by changing dimensions to see where failures in the main assembly occured. It worked for a few changes so I saved it and checked it into vault.
The Split using the 70 Deg Plane (you will find them in the browser, Split 5 and Split 7) is where the problem occurs. When I increase the outside diameter (i made it 147 in.), Spits 5 and 7 get moved up to the top half.
The same surface (named OUTER HOUSING SIDE) and its mirror are split on the XZ plane prior to the splits in question (5 and 7).
I recently downloaded the trial version of Autocad Architecture 2013. I changed my main customization file to aca.cuix so that I would have the build panel. The build panel is now there, but it is not working. All the icons are questions marks and when I click on the ceiling grid icon it says 'unknown command'. How can I get the ceiling grid function to start working?

It doesnt matter what layer its on, even though previously they were drawn 'properly' i.e the thin line width that shows when you have show/hide lineweight on 'hide'. This doesnt happen on any other drawing tool (arc, circle, polygon etc). The lineweights in layer control are all 'default'. I can't explain this as it seems to have just happened. Is it a known bug or something?

I have some ABR files (blue, red, & brown numbered files) that I have combined to make new ABR files (blue, red & brown corresponding files marked as "M"). The problem is, after creating & saving my new ABR files, I went into the Presets/Brushes folder & deleted the original individual (blue, red & brown numbered files) ABR files. HOWEVER, as you can clearly see, they're still in my selection list in CS6!
The whole reason for doing this was ease of accessing certain types of brushes & to clean that list! If I can't figure out how to remove the DELETED ABR files from the list, it will be huge by the time I'm done!!! I have closed & re-opened CS6, hoping that will "refresh" my brush selection list. As you can see, it most definitely has not.
How can i remove processed files from my HDD. it is taking lots of space in there...??
i am using softfx in the timeline and each time i process it is taking the space i want to keep the last one with which i am happy and remove the others; with the processed files that was created by smoke. so i belive i can save some space in my hdd.
