I have AutoCAD 2012 and when printing to PDF on this drawing only it’s coming out blank (nothing in the PDF). All my other drawings work fine.
The plot preview seems to be fine also as I can see the drawing OK. Also It takes a lot longer to print on this drawing. It seems to hang around for about 30 secs and then produces a blank PDF.
I noticed a plot style pen missing which may cause the problem?
I have AutoCAD 2013 (Full) and Adobe Acrobat X Pro v10.1.4 installed. I usually select ‘Adobe PDF’ as my printer instead of the standard ‘DWG To PDF.pc3’ which comes with AutoCAD and everything works fine. However on some particular drawings I have, when I print using the ‘Adobe PDF’ nothing comes out, it’s just a blank PDF. If I select the standard ‘DWG To PDF.pc3’ printer, it prints fine.
These particular drawings do have one missing Plot Style so maybe that has something to do with it? If so how do I remove that Plot Style completely so it’s not required anymore?
I have a pdf that opens up in Acrobat with the viewable image but when I place it in PS it comes up blank.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Corel X3...I am trying to create a PDF in Corel X3 but the pdf is coming out blank? On smaller files they work out OK. I have re-sampled the images to make them smaller but it is not working? The file size is 31mb.I have made PDF's before and it is easy, but this is frustrating now. I have even uninstalled Corel and re-installed. Changed PDF generating programs too. I am now using Nitro Reader.

ive tried copying the same wipeout lineweights and pasting it in new documents but have no problems there. i've tried re saving under a brand new document but still no luck. apparently it's only happening in the same 2 documents.
My Autocad has started a new behavior. When (in Win7) I double-click on a drawing file in Windows Explorer, Autocad opens the drawing file and also starts a new drawing, all in the same session of Autocad. Is there some system variable or Windows variable that controls this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEverything I try to print from Photoshop to my Epson Stylus Pro 3880 just prints a blank page.
It sounds like it's printing, i.e. the printer head moves up and down across the paper, however no ink is depositied on to the page. Ink levels are fine.
I can print fine from other applications; it's only Photoshop that's causing a problem.
This is on a Mac running OS X 10.6.8, Photoshop 12.0 x64. I have tried upgrading the printer driver to the latest version: 9.04.
I have also tried totally removing the driver and reinstalling it, and have tried reinstalling Photoshop.
I’m having an issue with Revit printing blank pages in a set.
I’m selecting the pages in print range option, and several of the pages are just coming out blank. I have to select each page that did not print and print it separately. This is printing directly to my Epson WF-750 on 12”x18” paper at 50% scale.
When I make a PDF, all the pages seem to appear. Is this a printer issue, or a Revit issue. Wait, let me guess, it can’t be a Revit issue it’s got to be a printer issue.
I was playing around with my settings and did something that is keeping me from printing. When I go to print preview, the page is blank. I have tried opening up jobs that I successfully printed before and they also show and print blank. Everything looks normal in the work area. I just can't print.
View 14 Replies View RelatedOn the average 1 out of 10 drawings will open up with a blank display. By clicking randomley on the screen until a line is high lighted and using the re command the drawing will appear. This has started happening after switching to Win 7pro 64 bit and Autocad 64 bit. This happens on various machines in the office, and on differant files made by differant computers.
Display is set to black. Layout is set to white.
I have tried various display drivers, the ones from the mfg, and the ones that have been tuned for S W. no effect same problem.
I have a problem in polyline width. when i set polyline width in one drawing shows solid line & in another drawing shows blank lines.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running CAD Map 3D 2011 and a Windows XP SP3 machine with 4GB RAM and a 128 MB 3D card. I am trying to send the plot to a HP Designjet 800PS plotter.
The file that I am working on is not overly large and has no raster images or OLE objects attached. It does have several open database connections that I am using to theme one of my drawing layers. The sheet itself is an odd size (36" x 54"), but I have printed other drawings of this size before and I've never had problems.
When I first plotted the sheet, it was taking forever to spool, so I ended up canceling the print several times. I finally decided to try to plot to PDF, but this created a HUGE spool file (2.65 GB). Since it was actually spooling, I went ahead and let it run. It ended up taking about an hour to spool and print the PDF. Before I opened the PDF, I checked the size and found it to be about 12 Mb. When I opened it, all that was there was a blank sheet. After that, I re-sent the plot to the HP plotter and just let it work overnight. When I got in this morning, there was a 36" x 54" blank sheet waiting for me.
I've checked the basic settings and none of the layers are frozen, off, or set to not print. I also increased by page file size to work with the plot, but that does not seem to have had any effect. I've tried creating several different .pc3 files, but the issue has stayed. I am now trying to have another person open the file and print it from a different workstation, but so far no luck.
As a side note, I tried a work around by plotting to a dwf file using the included dwf driver. This spooled and plotted very quickly (<60 seconds) and the dwf file appears just fine in design review. However, when I try to print from design review, it won't let me set it as a 36" x 54" plot; it keeps with with the standard print sizes only.
I am issues with DEM files that I am downloading from the USGS website.I download 24k, elevation for the area I need. I then choose staged 1 second, add a surface to a blank drawing, then upload the DEM files to the surface.
The surface imports correcty, but when I try to import points taken by a surveyor on the same drawing, they plot incorrectly.The DEM surface and the points from the surveyor do not correspond. Also, the DEM surface is in meters, not feet. I have tried changing drawing settings, datum types, coordinate types, etc.
we have just upgraded from Inv 2011 to 2013. I am trying to create the drawing templates in 2013 by using the blank 2013 template and then copying our border from 2011 onto it. This works a treat apart from 1 thing.
The i properties do not get copied over as well so the sheet is blank from drawing number, title and the custom properties etc.
I want to print an A3 drawing on an A4 printer. I saved the drawing as .DWF and opened the "Autodesk Design Review 2012" to perform the "tiling" print. When in printing properties, I can't seam to understand why the drawing is split in 6 pages, when in reality one A3 sheet is 2x A4 sheets. You can see in the example, that so much space is wasted, is there a way to center the drawing, and am I doing everything right here?

I have completed my drawings, converted them to PDF(image 1) and when i print the PDF out, there are parts of the drawing missing as image 2 shows. If i plot direct from autocad, there is no problem with the print.

I need to automate this such that the user enters numbers and letters from drop menus, (part number is alpha-numeric, each representing voltage, horsepower, motor count, etc,) and have the drawing set created. Reading up on this, I know I still could use VBA, but as that is going to fade into non-existence soon, replaced by .net, I would love to go ahead and create it using .net. I really know nothing about it, but need to learn. I can find lots of books on visual studio, but somehow I need to know how to interface it with ACAD at the same time!

When we go to print the drawing on with the xref on it is barely visible. If I open the xref up and print it comes out fine. I have inserted the xref to its own layer.I do not know what to do from here.

I heard that in this version,
a drawing printing can now be saved so that each time I have a format A to print, it prints format A by default.
Each time I have a format B to print, it prints format B by default.
Now, if i have a drawing format A and another drawing format B to print, i have to change the format prining page each time.
I have a drawing file of AutoCAD 2012 with different coloured lines. When I take a print using "monochrome" option also, I get my yellow lines as light black which I don't want. I want all the elements to appear as black of same brightness. What should I do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedStrange issue when printing a drawing. For some reason whenever I send this drawing to print the 'squared' symbols get replaced with either some overlapping numbers or the letter E.
Unfortunately I can't take a photo of the result but I'll provide an image of what I'm trying to print.
Plotting as a .pdf works fine (print preview also looks fine) and is the current work-around but it would be good to get a proper solution because it's likely these will be printed again from AC in the future and we'll forget and the client will get a stodgy drawing and I'll be sad.

I'm new to this forum, and also pretty new with autocad. For an assignment ive to use it to produce a drawing. But for a good grade I'd like to learn how to create a printing layout for my drawing. I'm pretty good with model space. But new with using paperspace.
How i would create this image,( just a 5 second attempt to illustrate what I am trying to achieve), in AutoCad:
Obviously id be inserting my drawing from modelspace into the big white area in the middle, but just cant seem to follow anything I've found so far on the net successfully to get to my goal here.
