I drew a cube using polylines by changing ucs. I want to join the polylines so that the cube contour becomes one single object.
Since the lines are in different planes I can not join them. How could I unite those 12 lines so they become a cube non solid(I plan on placing a sphere inside some of the cubes and then use "shade" for visualization so if the cube is solid I won't see the spheres).
How to draw 3D polylines, or convert single lines to polylines?

I am creating a surface from polylines and the surface is not being created per the what the polylines represent. These are simple 5:1, 3:1, and 3.5:1 slopes. The surface wants to create curves instead of straigtlines (see attached).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know 2013 are more exposed and the .net can extract contours. However using 2012 at the moment. so my plan is using .net to add the user contours and then use com object to extract.
so far i can get the surface object and assign to two different surface variable one is .net and one is com. I am looking at the surface analysis object and can't figure out how to add contours at user elevation. it is also read only in the surface object. but i find this:
SetContourData
(analysisData()
which is obvious not read only. so any sample code of the procedure of assign user contours?
why I cannot join the various polylines in the attached example? My objective is to create 2 closed polylines, Line 1 and Line 2.

I just switched over from 2005 to 2012. In 2005 I used Express Tools to change several lines of text to one mtext object. I can't find it in 2012. I didn't realize how much I used it until I lost it.

Is there a command to combine two 3d polylines into a single polyline? Either combine, take the mean between the two lines, or draw a third line at the mid distance between the two original lines?
The lines are created (in a .dxf) by a GPS unit in the field, and represent tracks needing to be mapped. Typically we would drive out a track and then drive back on the same track; this gives me two 3d polylines. Because of GPS errors it better practice to log the roads/ tracks twice. The lines can have from 2000 to 10000 vertices, so manually drawing is not an option.

I was thinking of using the COM interface and sending the PEDIT command and converting the arcs.
The only problem is I don't know of a way to put the objectids into a selection set, then call the pedit command and use the previous selection.
On my file I have some polylines that are the streets. So, they look like rectangles and curves, etc. I am working also on a 3D Model, and what I have to do next is to extrude them. The problem is that those polylines are not polygons, and so, they are not solids when I extrude them. I tried to use the command BO but it says that the lines are not closed, and I checked with OSNAP and they are! Is there any way to convert those polylines into polygons?

Because none of this data is kept on import to Max, we need to do this all in Map 3D, which we are not experienced with. Is there a way to do this, and if so what?
