Jul 29, 2011When doing an angle dimension and trying to put text under the dimension line, the text types out straight which if long enough will extend over the dimension line. Other then creating text with arctext, is there no other way to get it curved? I am using AutoCAD 2010.

Apr 30, 2013I am having an issue with my dimensions. If I have a dimension that is 1'-3" or larger, my extension line beyond my dimension line extends the normal length, but as soon as my dimension goes under 1'-3", the extension line then gets twice as long outside of the dimension line (see attachment). I have researched...and i can't seem to find a dim variable that will let me change this. is there anything to control this happening once my dimension goes below 1'-3"?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Adjust Line Spacing In Network Structure Labels
Mar 1, 2013I have questions in 2012 pipe network labels.
We are having problems with running out of space and would like to squeeze the line spacing between lines to get more room. We know how to do that in standard MTEXT but can't find the equivalent in the label settings.
I have also noticed problems getting dragged pipe labels to stack. I check the box to stack on drag, but it doesn't seem to do it. We created a separate stacked label style.

Apr 5, 2013I use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?

Apr 24, 2013I need to routinely insert text into or near my dimensions but my dimensions need to be kept as basic dimensions meaning they need to have the box around them as in the picture. What I want to do is what the first dimension shows with the "2x" outside the dimension box but that first one is a combination of suppressing the dimension line and inserting a leader so the 2x will be within the line. Otherwise the normal dimension is what is shown below. How can I increase the line gap from the dimension options without 1) increasing the dimension box with DIMGAP or 2) inserting a line that's separate from the dimension itself or 3) exploding

Jan 22, 2013I used direct-distance entry to place the dimensions 3/8 away from the object lines... needless to say, while most horizontal dimensions are 3/8 away, the vertical and inclined dimensions are not. see attached. other than creating construction geometry and physically moving the endpoints of the arrows to the correct location, is there any way of getting this precise and correct the first time i do it?

Nov 15, 2013In Autocad 2006, is there a way to control the length of the dimension line when it extends outside of the dimension distance itself? In other words, when a dimension is small, and the arrowheads flip to the outside of the dimension parameter, the text and the extension line outside of the dimension seems to go to far outside of the dimension area..
Can I control how far outside of the dimension area that this line and text are placed? They seem to go to far out on my drawings. I prefer them to be closer to the actual dimension area instead of extending so far out.. Didn't know if there was a control for this and where to find it.
