May 29, 2012I'm trying to export some AutoCAD files to SketchUp as DWGs... everything comes through fine, but the text (and certain other line-types) won't transfer over. I know that with AutoCAD 2008 using Express Tools, you could do this easily by exploding the text. How can I explode text using AutoCAD 2013, so that it will export as vectors in the DWG file?

May 22, 2013I am having issues with drawings from a consultant. They are sending us DGN files and they do not seem to want to import in the latest AutoCAD Architecture 2013 I have deployed throughout the offce. However, these same drawings have no problem in importing to AutoCAD Architecture 2011. In 2013, I get no activity once I select the file to import. If I click on the screen once, the program dims and the program says it is not responding. But I have no problem with 2011.

Jun 27, 2012I'm using Auto Architecture 2013 and the dimensions are always coming in on layer A-Anno-Dims; which is fine for plans. I also use dimensions for reflected ceiling plans as wells as other plan options. I want to set the dimension on the current layer, but no matter where I choose the command (ie command line, ribbon, toolbar, tool palette) it comes in on the same layer. Can I turn this option off? Is there a variable that I can chage?

May 21, 2013I cannot seem to make the clng-grid appear on the "sheet." It is visible in the construct, and the view, but nothing I do makes it appear in the sheet once the view is placed.
I did modify Display Manager to show the grid on "medium detail" along with the other floor plan items in all 3 DWG's. Works fine in construct and view, no joy in sheet.
It won't even appear when I flip the vport to "reflected" or "reflected screened."

May 29, 2012Just upgraded from 2012 to 2013.....Why did they change the way you stretch a wall with grips???? Now, I cannot align a wall perpendicular to the inside of another wall, only the outside edge/face....Is there a fix or setting I am not aware of?

Mar 4, 2013I am getting an error when I try to use my detail components.
It said it cannot find the AecDtlComponents (US).mbd. I have found the database and opened it up. It looks fine.
When I go into my options under AEC content I add a "Detail Component Database" it said "cannot open database... AecDtlComponents.mbd"

Apr 15, 2013I'm using Autocad 2013. My problem is when i use "recover files & xrefs", all the files recovered are saved as a 2013 dwg version. As we all save our files here as 2007 version so when others opened the files they are getting some of the xref files missing in the drawing.
Is there any option to save files in a lower version when i recover?

Aug 5, 2012Have been using ACA 2013 all last week (normally do most of my work with Revit) and this time its been used intensively since install. I noticed that Autdesk 360 was doing allot of syncing. Drawings are open all of the time so the syncing activity is continuous.Then I found that over the last week broadband useage generally is clocking up to 11Gb per day (I get 60 per month), other browsers were slow and I think I have traced the problem to Autodesk 360 - it stoppped as soon as I disconnected from the cloud. It seems there is a huge amount of up and down stream data - turn 360 back on and the router lights start flashing furoiously. The cloud storage is less than 1Gb.

Jun 26, 2012Last week we upgraded to ACA 2013 from ACA 2012.
I am now having issues any time I try to insert a Block into any drawing - I get a Fatal Error.
I have uninstalled & reinstalled this afternoon but I am still having the same issue.
It happens when I am trying to insert blocks from both the Design Centre & also from Tool palettes.
Other users in my office do not have this problem, the only difference between my set-up & theirs is that I have installed the 'AEC Section Display & Tag Scale Hotfix' but I have tried uninstalling this but had the same results.

Jul 8, 2013When I try to attach a 2013 Excel file into a 2014 drawing I get a message 'You have selected an unsupported DGN File. Only V7 and V8 files are supported.' Cannot attache through the Import command either. I know in past versions you could insert the file and any changes made to the file appeared to the attachment in the drawing.
Is this no longer possible? Surely not, it is way to handy. What am I overlooking to make this happen?

Oct 19, 2012I have an HP workstation Z220 with OS Windows 7 64 bit. I have installed my printer HP Laserjet Pro CM1415nf using the original CD Drivers and have also installed AutoCAD Architecture 2011 and 2013.
When trying to print from both AutoCAD versions to the printer, the application crashes and I need to close the program. When I try to print to a different printer everything is ok. I have checked for updated drivers of the printer and downloaded from HP site by the problem is still there.

Feb 27, 2013I have recently upgraded from LT2011 TO Architecture 2013. I always use perpendicular tracking when copy and pasting but when I want to copy (or paste) a certain distance perpendicular to that object it doesn't like it. It's tricky to explain but say I wanted to copy a block of a teble 1200mm from the original block I'd copy, hover over the basepoint and move my cursor in the intended direction and type in 1200 and enter. The previous version of AutoCAD worked this command fine but since the upgrade I'm having trouble. Surely it's something as simple as changing the drafting settings bit I've gone through them all and no luck.

Sep 18, 2013In ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.

I also tried the menuload and the appload command but won't load every single lisp routine
from the express folder...can you imagine how many lisp routines the Express Folder has....
AutoCAD Architecture hasn't got such problems with Express Tools.....

Jun 14, 2012I went to content browser and loaded the "Plan Elevation Label" onto my tool palette when I go to place the label in the drawing it prompts for elevation and nothing else.
How can you change the rotation on the screen accept to use the rotation command?
The tag itself is referencing a block I went to the block and changed the block now if I go to insert the multi view block it prompts for rotation but not to edit the attribute is there any way to get it to do both?
