In a machine shop environment, the current practice is for an admin person to review the drawing, then take down all dimensions and enter them manually into Excel. Is there an easier way to export data to Excel so that I can have the dimension reports rather than doing them manually. The second question is on the ability to save the document as a .pdf, although I think this is possible.
I have a drawing with so many rectangles in one layer. i want the sizes of those rectangles( ie L x B) is there any way to get the sizes of a rectangles from autocad and paste it into excel.
I wanted to know if it's possible to export a drawing from Autocad to Excel. The drawing is in both model space and layout and contains polygons and blocks.
I am trying to export a manually generated material list (not an AutoCAD "table") to an Excel spreadsheet or a .csv file. I've tried selecting the text and right clicking, but there is no export option. I've also tried selecting the text and going directly to Export, but I see no option to save it as a .csv.
I am designing a RCC Dam and the shape of the dam is constant and will not change, but the dimensions of this shape are very likely to change depending upon hydraulic analysis.
I have written a program (irrelevant, but I am using MathCad 14) that performs a stability analysis of a RCC Dam (based on elevations from the hydraulic analysis) and then exports the dam dimensions and coordinates to Excel.
I am attempting to then take those coordinates (or dimensions) from Excel to create a 2-D dimensioned drawing of the Dam in AutoCAD.
I have successfully linked the Excel spreadsheet containing these coordinates and dimensions to AutoCad tables in my drawing, but I am having trouble getting AutoCAD to update my drawing as these tables update with different coordinates and dimensions.
I would like to have a drawing that is fully dimensioned (as the shape of the dam will not change), but that will update coordinates and dimensions as I pump out different dam dimensions from my stability analysis.
Can you take text from a drawing and export it out to excel? My thoughts are room numbers, employee names, department names, etc.
I need an excel spreadsheet showing this information to then upload to my CAFM Application? Is there an alternative to obtaining a report from a drawing?
I'm having an issue plotting or exporting a dwg to pdf. When I have a dwg with a linked excel table and want to plot a layout, everything plots except the excel table. I'm running LT 2012, windows 7 pro (64-bit). I send the same file over to a friend running LT 2011 an he adjust the viewport boundaries slightly and he encounters no problem either plotting or exporting to pdf. I've tried the same with no success. My Adobe Reader is up to date as well.
Just trying to bring in a Volumes Dashboard report from IE10 to Excel 2010 (it all worked fine until I my PC was upgraded from IE9/Excel 2007)
When the report is in IE10, I Select All and paste to Excel (as I always have done) and the numbers are not recognised as numbers (there is no convert text to numbers prompt) and seem to have a leading space which Find/Replace can't find and replace.
If I right click in IE10 and Export to Excel, most of the exported data has a weird character preceding it (but which can be found and replaced). What this character is and how to stop it appearing?

I am trying to export what looks like a table of text to Excel. The problem I have is the table is not an actual TABLE within AutoCAD but rather just columns of text with lines drawn around it. How I can grab this text and then put it into an Excel Spreadsheet.
Autodesk Inventor 2013 could export the sketches and dimensions of a part to ProE/CREO. I've tried using an IGES format and exported the part from Inverntor to CREO, and I get the part with the dimensions and everything, but not the sketches or the extrusions, etc. Just the plain part. Also used the .g and .neu , and still nothing.
I have an ipart which is being controlled by an external spreadsheet. Each cell references a cell within a spreadsheet on my local drive. I have a set a parameters that are used to completely define each part but I am also interested in some of the reference parameters (from driven dimensions) so that I can analyze relationships between reference and input parameters. Is it possible (without extensive programming in windows VB or other) to export data from this iPart into, prefereably, the driving spreadsheet or another spreadsheet?
I have some manufacturing dimensions that are an end result of my design so they are driven dimensions at the end of my modeling history and pulled into the ipart table. If I make some design changes I need these dimensions to update too. The problem is they do not automatically update and require a manual activation of each child memeber for the dimension to update.
The dreaded "The Values in the active row don't match the document's current values. do you wish to update the table before continuing" Click, enter, Click, enter, Click, enter.

We are using Coral Draw 11 and have to get a lot of our data from Excel. Currently we are copying and pasting the information in, but this is very time consuming. Is there a faster and simplier method?
I am new to Lightroom. When I export a group of photos some are around 3000x4000 and others are around 6000x8000.
These larger sizes will not upload to my Picasa Web Albums. Why are they different sizes? Some are only taken on my iphone and are the larger size and others are on my SLR and are the small size.
Recently I have been trying to build table driven products and ipart tables, but when I copy a member to create a new part number, upon exiting the iassembly author I get the following message "excel installation is required for this operation. failed to launch excel". I have a fully functional version of 2010 Excel installed which has been used so it should be recognized in the windows registry. I am running Windows 8 and Autodesk Inventor 2014.
I have AutoCAD 2013 and often "paste special" excel files that automatically update when the excel file changes. The problem I'm running into is I work with a person who has uses an older version of CAD 2004, so I always save to the older format for him.
When I etransmit, I be sure to add the excel file, but when he opens the dwg, only the outline of the excel appears in his dwg, no content.
I was adding a lot of aligned dimensions to a drawing and some where along the way they changed from aligned dimensions to rotated dimensions, even in the same string of dimensions.
We have a whole bunch of spreadsheets that we use for calculations and parts of those spreadsheets are linked to a ton of CAD Drawings via data links.
We would like to be able to deliver the CAD drawings to the client without having to send our calculation books (just the output tables). In other words, is it possible to embed the table data and remove the excel link for the final delivery?
I'm running AutoCAD MEP 2012.The user with the problem is running AutoCAD 2012.
We have a drawing with an excel spreadsheet pasted into the Paper Space as an embedded OLE object. I open the drawing and it prints fine. When he prints the drawing, the spreadsheet is very grainy and hard to read.
I tried plotting to a PDF and several different printers with same results every time. The only difference I noticed about his Plot Dialog Window was in the "Shaded Viewport Options".
When he selects from the "Quality" dropdown, the values for DPI associated with each option are different than mine. For example, on "Quality" setting "Normal", my window shows 300 DPI and his shows 100 DPI.
I tried setting his to "Custom" with a value of 300 DPI, but it seems to have no effect.
May be unrelated, but I also noticed that his LWDEFAULT system variable somehow got set to 09. I had to set that back to 25.
I have many lines or other primitives (circles, squares, etc...) I need to create information about this, such as, line is a street, so I need to write many information about all lines (such as street name, category, construction ...)
