AutoCAD .NET :: Export To WMF Without Using Interop
Jul 1, 2013I would like to export a DWG file to WMF. I've read in the forum I need to add Autodesk.Autocad.interop.dll and Autodesk.Autocad.interop.common.dll, but with these references the interface displays too many duplicate definitions.
How can I do without using Interop references?

Feb 21, 2013@The moment i am trying to get the saveAs settings that were used when the user hits the save/saveAs button in autocad.
My addin needs to store the current document with these settings. i dont want to use some pop-up dialog.
The .currentVersion property saves the document with the applicationversions standard saveprofile.
I need some kind of property that reflects the users saveAs settings.
Is there any way getting those information via the .net api without doing the interop stuff?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Fatal Error While Paste Special From Excel?
Sep 6, 2012When I try to paste in any collection of cells from excel using "paste special" C3D crashes. I'm using 2010. It crashes trying to paste into any drawing, and any group of cells.

When trying to link to excel file get error "Not Implemented". Have tried the registry 'fix' - does not work. Need to get these links working to drive models. This same Excel version works fine for Solidworks which inks perfectly with no issues whatsoever. Inventor has been a problem for 2011,and now 2012 - still not working.

Jul 1, 2010I am using CorelDraw 12. I am trying to automate the Art work generation process using the Interop.CorelDraw Assembly along with C# .Net. I am facing a problem. When I am creating a word object, if the Height of the Text is greater than 21cms the art work is not being generated. It took me a while to understand this. I am not really sure how to remove the size range for the Text.

Dec 6, 2012I'm linking an excel file to an .ipt file with iLogic code determining if the Material type is a certian value it will find the correct material thickness. These file work great when working on them thru Vault but when I "Save As Template" and create this file where our other template files are located (not Vault) this fuction does not work. I have realized that I had to place the a copy of the excel file in the same file folder as the template ipt, but even this does not fix the issue.
I recieve this error:
Error in rule: Material, in document: Part6
'MWW Materials (Inventor).xlsx' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
It seems completly countintutive that just saving the file as a template file would cause this not to work when all files that are required are located in the same file folder. Maybe I need a reference to the excel document within the iLogic code.

Sep 4, 2013Recently I have been trying to build table driven products and ipart tables, but when I copy a member to create a new part number, upon exiting the iassembly author I get the following message "excel installation is required for this operation. failed to launch excel". I have a fully functional version of 2010 Excel installed which has been used so it should be recognized in the windows registry. I am running Windows 8 and Autodesk Inventor 2014.

May 29, 2013I have AutoCAD 2013 and often "paste special" excel files that automatically update when the excel file changes.The problem I'm running into is I work with a person who has uses an older version of CAD 2004, so I always save to the older format for him.
When I etransmit, I be sure to add the excel file, but when he opens the dwg, only the outline of the excel appears in his dwg, no content.

Feb 13, 2012We have a whole bunch of spreadsheets that we use for calculations and parts of those spreadsheets are linked to a ton of CAD Drawings via data links.
We would like to be able to deliver the CAD drawings to the client without having to send our calculation books (just the output tables). In other words, is it possible to embed the table data and remove the excel link for the final delivery?

Jun 16, 2008I'm running Photoshop Elements 5.0. Everything was working fine til this mornin. I've had the program for about a year now. When I tried to open it this morning I got this error message that popped up.
It says:
Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable.
I've tried repairing the program. That didn't work. Restarted my computer. That didn't work. Uninstalled the program and tried opening it again. That didn't work. I'm at a loss! I really need to get into my program b/c my work is there. I tried opening some of my files (they are located in my Pictures folder) and they pop up with the same message.

AutoCad :: Excel OLE Is Grainy?
Mar 21, 2012I'm running AutoCAD MEP 2012.The user with the problem is running AutoCAD 2012.
We have a drawing with an excel spreadsheet pasted into the Paper Space as an embedded OLE object. I open the drawing and it prints fine. When he prints the drawing, the spreadsheet is very grainy and hard to read.
I tried plotting to a PDF and several different printers with same results every time. The only difference I noticed about his Plot Dialog Window was in the "Shaded Viewport Options".
When he selects from the "Quality" dropdown, the values for DPI associated with each option are different than mine. For example, on "Quality" setting "Normal", my window shows 300 DPI and his shows 100 DPI.
I tried setting his to "Custom" with a value of 300 DPI, but it seems to have no effect.
May be unrelated, but I also noticed that his LWDEFAULT system variable somehow got set to 09. I had to set that back to 25.

Aug 1, 2012Well I had a day and a half trying to figure out how to bring Excel data into LT. Again. Here is what I have found out:
Running Excel 2010 I have a xls files (of type '97-2003 xls - file includes VBA). The file spits out a ton of data that I want to put in a schedule in AutoCAD. The schedule format needs to match our standard format - RomanS in white and blue.
If I copy and paste as a link the font remains stuck as Arial (regardless of source font) and can't be relaxed unless you go one cell at a time in the text editor. Also the resultant table size is tiny -
If I save the file to .XLSM (macro enabled '10 excel file) the results are the same. If I save the file to .XLSX ('10 excel file and ditch the VBA project) the results are sublime - the font is ok and I can go back and forth from AutoCAD to my now broken spreadsheet because VBA IS MISSING! The resultant table size is tiny but I can deal. I don't see how AutoCAD can work with xlsx but not xlsm.
I also found that if I save the sheet (values only) as a .csv file I can use that to create a table from file without font overrides screwing everything up.
I'm running AutoCAD LT 32bit on a Win7 32bit OS. My Office version is 2010. I would like to link data to a '97-'03 version of an xls or an xlsm without having the font overridden to Arial.

I have been told that you can link to other sheets in the workbook as well. Is this possible? I have tried, but have not been successful. If it is possible, how is it done?

Aug 5, 2013I am currently working on a project where I am taking a lot of Autocad Attributes and Exporting them to an excel file so they can be referenced in a table of contents type of manner. My question is if there is a way to have excel automatically update the tables after changes are made to the autocad file. This file is an ever changing thing so going back and running through the entire "Eattext" command and re exporting and overwriting the existing file is very tiresome, especially when I am adding and deleting attributes daily. Is there a VBA program I can run to accomplish this task, I have fairly limited VBA skills and haven't written in VBA for years. I am fairly new to exporting autocad attributes to excel . I attached a very simplistic example of the general Idea of what I am trying to accomplish.

Sep 17, 2012I am trying to insert tables into AutoCad from excel the problem that I have is with the text style.
Every time I copy and paste as a linked AutoCad entity the text does not come across as the correct text style - for example if I want the table text to come out as ISOCP it comes across in a bolder text, requiring me to enter in the cell and select ISOCP I don't have to highlight the text in the cell i only have to enter inside the cell.

AutoCAD VB :: Text Value Extraction To Excel
Mar 8, 2012I have a favor to ask. In my drawings i have two distinct layer names (Say "ew" and "ns"). On these layers i have numerous plain text numbers in 5mm increments which are repeated many times throughout the drawing. What i would like to do is be able to start a VBA macro, have it ask the user to select an area by window on the drawing file, and have VBA look up and count the sum of all instances of each number occurring in the selected window. Then dump them into an excel spread sheet which i will then manipulate from there. An example output would look something like below: "NS" Layer Quantities... Height 25 30 35 40 45 and so on Total 56 33 62 39 50 "EW" Layer Quantities... Height 25 30 35 40 45 and so on Total 56 33 62 39 50 The ouput would require two rows of information. The top number would be the number on the drawing as text item and the lower row would be the total number of times that number appears in the selected area.

Then I try using upload to source/download to source update, but end up with this msg. every time:

0 data link(s) written out successfully.
I have tried when it said, successful all the way, but nothing have happen in the excel sheet at that time.
What I am trying to do, is make it automatic or manual update in the attributes in the drawing. If I change something in my excel sheet and ofc. the other way around to if possible.
