AutoCAD .NET :: Publish Multiple Page PDF Using Interop
Dec 4, 2012I want to plot of .dwg file(with Multiple Layouts) as PDF using interop services, where PDF should contain all the layouts.
View 1 RepliesI want to plot of .dwg file(with Multiple Layouts) as PDF using interop services, where PDF should contain all the layouts.
View 1 RepliesI am using AutoCAD LT 2009. I have AcrobatPro installed on my machine as well.
I seem to have lost my ability to publish a a bunch of dwg files and have one PDF file as the output. It used to work fine...I would hit publish, add all my dwgs (all model tabs), configure all page setups to be one of my Adobe PDF options (I have few configured, one for color, gray, B&W, etc), hit the publish button and then adobe would be prompt me for a file name, and then voila - I have one multi-page PDF of my drawing set.
Where it got lost and what happened, I don't know. As for trying to fix it, I have tried everything below, but nothing that gets me back to where I was:
1. Tried using the built-in "DWG to PDF." At best, this will automatically generate a PDF for each drawing without any input from me. I then used Adobe to combine all the drawings into one file. I could live with this, however, the resolution of the PDF's is not enough. I even tried changing the resolution setting to 1200dpi...stills comes out bad.
2. Using the "Adobe PDF." I get prompted by adobe for a filename for each dwg. This is very tedious. However, the output files look nice and much better resolution than #1.
3. There seem to be a lot of mention in hte forums to a system variable PUBLISHCOLLATE. This does not exist in my list of system variables (maybe because I am using LT). I tried setenv command to create the variable and toggle it from 0 to 1...this does not affect anything.
4. Within the Publish Dialogue - There is no mention of PDF anywhere. My only options for 'Publish to' are 'Plotter named in the setup' or 'DWF'. Within the Publish Options, nothing related to PDF...only options for DWF. I have tried changing these anyway, not affect.
5. Toying the pc3 - I tried changing some settings with PC3 file (Adobe PDF and DWG to PDF)...nothing fixed the problem. I tried setting collate from NONE to REGULAR, tried changing port to AUTOSPOOL, PLOT TO FILE, PLOT TO THE FOLLOWING PORT...nothing worked.
we are working on circuit drawings which are lengthy and we usually split the model into more than 100 layouts and publish pdfs.So we get 100 pdf pages. When we view the pdf, we need to scroll down to get into next page.
Can we create a pdf for complete circuit in single page, where we can scroll the page horizontally. This will work in viewing the page horizontally with continuity in the circuit.
We are experimenting with turning on the auto publish to PDF on prompted save. (Options/Plot and Publish tab) This will be a very nice tool since we create PDF's of every dwg. that we create. However, I am having trouble locating the settings that control the page layout in this feature (The titleblock is not centered and is getting cut off when PDF is generated) but, When I preview the "standard" way of plotting to PDF, the drawing is fine. I assumed the settings would be one in the same?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to publish a pdf of a booklet I've been working on. It is currently set up with facing pages.
I want to publish it as a pdf, but so that it maintains the booklet format. That is, when it opens as a pdf, one should see both left and right hand pages, as one would browsing through a regular book.
How does one do this with Corel? I know once one has published, one can open the pdf and change the view setting to 'two page display.' I want this to happen automatically when the viewer opens the document though.
Looking for step by step for multiple page setup setting in multiple layout, i use autocad civil 3d 2012.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to publish (LR5 current version) to my facebook page (xyzphotography), but it posts to my personal timeline (xyz). They are both under the same account name (xyz). How to publish directly to a "Page"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to publish multiple tabs in to PDF. But when I do publish command, I get one PDF for each tab, I don't want that. I want all the tabs to be plotted into one PDF. I tried going into the option of publish and set it to multi-sheet dwg, but that doesn't seem to solve the issue.
BTW I am using Acad 2009.
I have a client that needs me to deliver my drawings in PDF format as multiple files with a specific naming convention. What I am doing is publishing to multiple files then renaming each file individually which is time consuming and prone to error.
I was hoping to come up with a way to automate the process.
Here's what I have: Each layout contains a title block block, lets call it "tblock". Within this block there are attributes for drawing title, sheet number etc, lets call these attributes "dt", "sn" respectively. Each layout also contains an Xref which contains a block which has attributes for revision data such as date, revision, issue description etc Lets call the xref "XA1", the block "Xtblock" and the attribute I need "Xrev". In visual basic it might look something like XA1.Xtblock.Xrev
Here's what I need: export each layout as {sn} {dt} Rev {Xrev}.pdf
Now I have used VB to automate Excel tasks and create Database applications so I would describe myself as "handy", just not used VB within Autocad before. I have also not used LISP before either so I'm a bit of a layman in that respect.
the issue is when i try to publish multiple dwg files which containing civil 3d objects including data ref to pdf it won't do it other whatever drawing is currently open.i kinda can see why. because the data ref reading is not programmed in when "invisibly" opening the cad files. xref are autocad native and it works.
so no warnings or anything. just publish the first one and told me it's done. i've seen this years ago when first started using civil 3d but then i just never complained here.
is there a solution for this? what i did before was obviously open each drawing. then publish, huge waste of time. making me hate my job because of repetative tasks. i almost always try to automate.
yesterday made a program to make one surface for each csv file there was hundres of them and basically 2 hour programming and 1 minute to process the files once got the program working.can read subfolders to find csv file too.

I'm using Window 7 Home edition and AutoCAD 2014.
When I publish multiple pages with either pdf or printing, it only prints the first layout. I tried to repair/reinstall AutoCAD and the problem still exist.
How to use Autodesk's DWG to PDF driver to plot multiple through publish? Whenever I try to plot more than one layout at a time I get a driver not found error.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm weaning myself off of Adobe's PDFMaker and learning how to publish.
I've got everything working but I'm prompted at an Adobe prompt (Save PDF File As...) for every sheet
which is overwhelming when I have multiple drawings with multiple sheets.
I don't know how (or if it is possible) to make it just save to the default name and continue onto the next one.
Is there a way to automatically convert each page of a document to bitmap in the process of publishing to PDF? maybe a macro that does this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use 2012 at home and 2013 at office, I would like to PUBLISH more than one layout in grayscale, now I`m having it in color.
how can I define the plot style/ page setup within the PUBLISH command?
I'm having an intermittent issue with my publish command. So far the pattern seems to be on drawings with a larger number of sheets (last one was 15, this one is 7). When I get the publish dialog box, I'll set the number of copies to however many I need but it ends up only printing one set. It doesn't happen every time. Just with these two drawings so far. They have nothing to do with each other and haven't shared any data. The only similiarity is that they're both older projects that were started some years ago on previous CAD versions.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen using the publish command to print multiple sheets from Civil 3D, it will sometimes fail to print certain objects. Usually it is a profile. Occasionally it drops some of the pipes. When we plot sheets individually it plots fine. Only C3D objects are affected, not regular ACAD objects. It only seems to be pipes and profiles. This problem is sporadic. It may be drawing specific but the sporadic nature of it makes it hard to say for sure.
The way we set up our drawings, profiles and pipes are almost always DREF's. This appears to be related. If we creat a test drawing with everything in one drawing publish works fine. If we then seperate into two drawings, DREF the data, and then publish again, the pipes disappear (from the plot not the drawing itself).
The same problem occurs on two different printers so I don't think it's driver related.
It started happening when we were on 2008. I thought maybe it was just that version. However, it seems to have gotten worse in 2009.
I'm using Sheet Set Manager in Autocad 2011. I'm using 'page setup override', and as plot area 'print extents'. So far, so good. Until someone forgets something outside the title block, and the extents feature is not good anymore (several people working in the same projects).
So, I decide to use as plot area 'Layout' instead, typing the X & Y to determine the area to be plotted.
Now, the setup "override" doesn't override. It’s using the drawing plot area from the drawing itself, which completely defeats the purpose. Am I missing something?
I would like to export a DWG file to WMF. I've read in the forum I need to add Autodesk.Autocad.interop.dll and Autodesk.Autocad.interop.common.dll, but with these references the interface displays too many duplicate definitions.
How can I do without using Interop references?
What happen? Error occurred when COM interop Autocad 2012 with excel 2010.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've created a publish service (jf zenfolio) under which using the the jf plugin publish I created varios folders, under which I've dropped different photos to publish.
Now... is there anyway I can tell the publish service to publish / republish everything in one click (instead of having to click on each folder to see if there's anything outstanding?
@The moment i am trying to get the saveAs settings that were used when the user hits the save/saveAs button in autocad.
My addin needs to store the current document with these settings. i dont want to use some pop-up dialog.
The .currentVersion property saves the document with the applicationversions standard saveprofile.
I need some kind of property that reflects the users saveAs settings.
Is there any way getting those information via the .net api without doing the interop stuff?
find DimStyleTablerecord in interop services.I can see DimStyle class. But i dont how to set dimension Style variables with this..Should i add any reference to my project or i miss something..

when I trying to publish in single-sheet file. so I type publish on my command bar, then I chose publish to pdf but when i try to click on publish options to set the location where I need to put the pdf files the publish window freeze. same thing when i click on add sheet button.
NOTE: I have this problem especialy when I used AUtoCAD from home. to use AutoCAD from home I made borrow licence.
Using AutoCAD 2013, myself and several other coworkers have encountered an error message when creating a pdf with the publish command. I attached a screen shot of it.
We never experienced this in earlier versions. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it has been recurring more in the past month. I have restarted the computer after receiving the message and then invoked the publish command after restart and it was successful. I'm not going to do this every time I publish, nor do I see the need to turn off background plotting. That just seems like a bandaid fix.
I even tried publishing with different page setups to determine if it would react differently to any page setup, but it doesn't. I attached a view of my publish window, as well.
Imported a parent folder with multiple children (20-40) folders. I've adjusted the photos and now want to publish easily to smugmug.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my web together but now I need help with meta tags. It relates to Photoshop as I am copying and pasting from Photoshop to Front Page.
#1 I see a "save for web" option, can you create a full web page with photoshop and publish it to the web?
#2 On Front Page in properties on the custom page there's "title" and "vaule", these are meta tags?? I'm confused about what title means, does title mean "the title of the page" or "the title of one key word". Example: is it, Title: Products page, and every key word that involves the content of the page? Or, Title: florist and then all the keywords directly related to Florist? Florist just being one title, and then furniture being a different title with it's own set of key words.
#3 I copy and paste everything in jpeg or gif, what's my disavantage of not knowing html and using the copy and paste method?
#4 Any suggestions about learning html?
#5 When I preview my page in browser if I minimize, the text and graphics fall out of place. I've tried viewing others pages and some fall out of place and some do not, what's the difference between them?
With ACDLT2010 is there a way to create 1 page setup and force it with one command to all SHEETS (Paper Space) or Multiple Files Model's prior to Batch Plotting a Project?
Reason i ask, is i regularly get files from other contractors, and they use different aspect ratio's / paper sizes / blah bleh blah. Manually going through and changing all the settings is time consuming and would be much easier if i can just pull up a list of drawing's and force a page setup to all pages.
I have quite a few thousand of drawings that each has a different page setup saved in them. What I would like to do is to remove all of these pageset ups from these drawings, import a newly one, set it to current and then save the file for later printing. Maybe some lisp file that can accomplish this.
