View 1 RepliesWith ACDLT2010 is there a way to create 1 page setup and force it with one command to all SHEETS (Paper Space) or Multiple Files Model's prior to Batch Plotting a Project?
Reason i ask, is i regularly get files from other contractors, and they use different aspect ratio's / paper sizes / blah bleh blah. Manually going through and changing all the settings is time consuming and would be much easier if i can just pull up a list of drawing's and force a page setup to all pages.
I have a copy machine that staples automatically but i dont want it to staple all the time. I made two page setups 1 called toshiba 11x17 and one called 11x17 stapled. However every time i go into the properties for them whatever i do to one effects the other. I just want one to be stapled one to not be stapled and everything else to be identical.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I have about 25 layouts on this particular drawing that already have a default page setup assigned to them. I just created a new page setup and want to apply it to these layouts...but I cannot. I can select the right setup in the publish window but it does not stay current after publishing.
The problem also comes up if I do a "-purge" or wblock the entire drawing as to remove weird elements. The pagesetups then show as missing.
If I create a new drawing and setup the page setup for the first time AutoCAD will ask if I would like to apply to all layouts. Where is this option for existing drawings?
I used to use a really nice VBA routine for assigning a page setup to multiple layouts, but now I need something that will work for 2011 and up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to modify the page setup of multple drawings and have it save that way so everytime I open the drawing the chosen page setup is selected.
I'm aware of being able to set multiple page setups in the publish screen, but that isnt a permenant change to the drawings themselves, and not what I'm looking for.
Is there any way of applying a new page setup to all the layouts at once?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded the 3 year trial of AutoCAD for students. I have managed to create a floor plan but struggling to amend the layout. First of all, I would like the page setup to be A3 but that is not an option on my Page Setup Manager as it will only connect to my printer size.
I am also trying to add a Title Block but again do not know what I am doing, or where to download template ones for free?
We have just upgraded from 2009 to 2012. Also have merged with a New company that did use xrefernces for there title blocks and we did, and now i am trying to solve how to use there borders to create new page layouts.
Our page setups that we had in 2009 were created by a former employee that is longer with the company.
How we typically started a border/ sheet. We have a separate drawing file that has in model space a 24x36 border with our info that we want repeated on all our sheets.
Now that we are in 2012; The layout tap is a weird size and the 'layout black area' does not match when I import that 24x36 boarder file. The black area does not line up with "0,0,0" and that is what I and trying to figure out how to i make the black area of the layout start at 0,0,0 and be 24x36.
the picture i attached shows 0,0,0 and the 2 borders over layed.
the green box is 24x36.
the blue box is the new border which is ment to be sent within the 24x36 and the brownish red box is the old border and layout and what we used to use.
I would like to find out if it is possible to produce a drawing with more than one view frame plotted on a single sheet/layout. I was thinking of minimizing on the number of sheets used for Linear features.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to plot a drawing on a tabloid sheet. I don't remember how to do so.Heres is what I have tried:
I went to "Page Setup Manager" in the options from right clicking on the Layout tab and then went to modify. From there I chose my Paper Size as "ANSI B (17x11 Inches). Then from the "What to plot" tab I chose extents and when I preview the print it doesn't incorporate the whole drawing, but only a portion of it. It does the same thing if I choose the other options (window, layout, etc...).
I get several dwg's a day with up to 40 layouts in each one. All the settings are correct ACCEPT the plotter. Is there a way to set all page setups for all layouts at the same time? Something like select all layouts and do a page setup for all. Possibly with LISP or VBA?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was just fooling around with it one day and I made 2 guidlines intersect (one at 0 degrees and one at 90). I added a third one at 45 and tried to center it at the intersection of the first 2. It made a tiny tiny microscopic right triangle for some reason.
Also, sometimes the center is off on either the object or on the page. Like when I rotate copies of an object around another object (like making a clock face) the copies don't go perfectly all the way around. I redo it and it works fine.
Is precision an issue in CoreDRAW?
We are experimenting with turning on the auto publish to PDF on prompted save. (Options/Plot and Publish tab) This will be a very nice tool since we create PDF's of every dwg. that we create. However, I am having trouble locating the settings that control the page layout in this feature (The titleblock is not centered and is getting cut off when PDF is generated) but, When I preview the "standard" way of plotting to PDF, the drawing is fine. I assumed the settings would be one in the same?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to figure out a way to sample multiple surfaces for multiple alignments.
Example 1: I am creating cross sections for a river dredge showing the pre-dredge bathymetry, design dredge elevation, and post-dredge bathymetry results. I have 100's of alignments that I need to sample 3 surfaces and display in profile view. Due to the clients requirements for display, using the cross section tools don't work for me, so I have resorted to using a seperate alignment for each cross section.
Example 2: Working in a subdivision with many utility alignments it would save quite a bit of time to be able to choose a group of alignments and sample multiple surfaces in just a few clicks.
We are using this code for Page setup. But We don,t know how to make this page setup current and active.

at work we use custom paper sizes. We use HP Designjet 500 ploter and paper rolls of sizes 420, 610 and 910 mm. So I have made layout for all sizes: 410x 420, 600x610 and 900x910 mm. To share files between computers we use TortoiseSVN. But leaving for long time all sizes gets bad (page_ setup_ manager. png). Size from 410x420 becomes 409,96x419,95 mm. The same becomes in plot window too (plot.png). And to plot in right paper sizes we need to edit plot paper size again if not drawing is ploted in bad paper size (custom_paper_size.png). Is here a way to permanently bind good paper size to drawing?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've completed my drawing (Autocad architectural 2012) and set-up my multiple view-ports (at 1:50 and 1:5 scale) on my title-block.
I'm now going to add my text and dimensions im model space....and that's when the problems start!
I've created text and dimensions in annotative style.
The issue I have is when I change annotation scale from 1:50 to 1:5 my text and dimensions in model space automatically changes (as can be seen on attachment) to a huge scale but is perfect in layout view for differing scales.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a large drawing that has many tabs (145), I have made a mistake midway and would like to find a way I can rename them quicker than "Right Clicking" on each tab to change it. That will be very time consuming.
Also, is there a way to print a list of all of the current layouts within a drawing.
After many years, my office has finally come to the realization that we need some standards when it comes to AutoCAD. One of the standards I'm trying to figure out is regarding the pen type settings and various scales.
How to go about setting up one ctb file that would cover printing drawings at various scales, but the line weights will remain proportional to the appropriate scale? Our current method of printing is setting up a 24"x36" sheet in paperspace and printing at 1:1. Sometimes we have to do our drawings at 1/8" and others we can do at 1/4", but regardless of the scale, the drawing is done with the same lines/layers. The current method of plotting is by using 2 different ctb files, one for the 1/4" scale and the other for the 1/8" scale. This seems a little ridiculous. I know there is the "scale lineweights" box, but doesn't that just apply to when you change the plot scale?
how to convert multiple selections to multiple layers or multiple files with one go?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to print multiple drawing in a single layout (see picture) . It is possible in autocad to setup printing once? For example: One project contains 100 A3 drawing, one layout contains 20 A3 drawing. Up to now, i print to pdf separately, and i combined the 100 pdf in one file.
And i print from this file. (only in this way succeed to print collating multiple copies). But if the project changes, I could start all over again. Is there a solution to publish an combining the sheets to print immediately?
I have floorplans from a building with a total of 80 appartments. Now i want to plot PDFs in A3 format, each page with 1 appartment. That would be 80 pages/PDF-files.
The way i did it up to now was i have put all A3 pages in a single layout and used the Window-function in the Plot dialog to print each page individually, manually numbering the file-names, and combining files in Acrobat as needed.
But doing this for 80 pages is too much - especially because i will likely have to plot it more often in the future. As far as i can see, i could make 80 layouts and use the Publish function, make a sheet-list and plot that way.
I keep wondering - is there not a more efficient solution to this problem than creating 80 layouts? There must be a more intelligent solution to this. Whats the preferred way of doing this?
P.S. i use AutoCAD2007 and Acrobat for plotting.
I want to be able to select all my viewports in all my layouts at the same time. Is this possible? Qselect only catches objects in the current tab.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy a layout tab inside an AutoCad file into a sheet set I created. All folders and sub folders are created and setup. What I need is to be able to copy the same layout under different sub folders inside sheet set manager.
To explain this better, I have a sheets set with all different departments inside our company (ex. CNC Dept., Bending, Machining, Welding, etc.). Some drawings have information for CNC, Welding and bending dept. Therefore I need to be able to copy the same drawing layout multiple times under each dept folder.
How can I do this? It only allow me to drag and copy the file once. I wont be able to drag it again under another folder.
I have quite a few thousand of drawings that each has a different page setup saved in them. What I would like to do is to remove all of these pageset ups from these drawings, import a newly one, set it to current and then save the file for later printing. Maybe some lisp file that can accomplish this.
