AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Exporting Volume Dashboard Report From IE To Excel
Apr 9, 2013Just trying to bring in a Volumes Dashboard report from IE10 to Excel 2010 (it all worked fine until I my PC was upgraded from IE9/Excel 2007)
When the report is in IE10, I Select All and paste to Excel (as I always have done) and the numbers are not recognised as numbers (there is no convert text to numbers prompt) and seem to have a leading space which Find/Replace can't find and replace.
If I right click in IE10 and Export to Excel, most of the exported data has a weird character preceding it (but which can be found and replaced). What this character is and how to stop it appearing?

AutoCad :: Exporting Dimensions To Excel
Mar 14, 2013In a machine shop environment, the current practice is for an admin person to review the drawing, then take down all dimensions and enter them manually into Excel. Is there an easier way to export data to Excel so that I can have the dimension reports rather than doing them manually. The second question is on the ability to save the document as a .pdf, although I think this is possible.

Mar 9, 2012I'm trying to export parameters for my parts to an excel sheet, this way to be able easily to edit any of these. So far :
1. exported parameters as xml.file and opened it in my excel sheet.
2. saved this sheet as xls.file on my desktop and linked (embed) parameters to this file.
- value column is formatted as text.
- any update to value column should immediatly change (after save and close worksheet?) parameters in inventor ?

Sep 12, 2012Autodesk Inventor 2013 could export the sketches and dimensions of a part to ProE/CREO. I've tried using an IGES format and exported the part from Inverntor to CREO, and I get the part with the dimensions and everything, but not the sketches or the extrusions,etc. Just the plain part.Also used the .g and .neu , and still nothing.

Mar 27, 2013I have an ipart which is being controlled by an external spreadsheet. Each cell references a cell within a spreadsheet on my local drive. I have a set a parameters that are used to completely define each part but I am also interested in some of the reference parameters (from driven dimensions) so that I can analyze relationships between reference and input parameters. Is it possible (without extensive programming in windows VB or other) to export data from this iPart into, prefereably, the driving spreadsheet or another spreadsheet?

Jun 24, 2013I have some manufacturing dimensions that are an end result of my design so they are driven dimensions at the end of my modeling history and pulled into the ipart table. If I make some design changes I need these dimensions to update too. The problem is they do not automatically update and require a manual activation of each child memeber for the dimension to update.
The dreaded "The Values in the active row don't match the document's current values. do you wish to update the table before continuing" Click, enter, Click, enter, Click, enter.

Feb 12, 2014is it possible (Revit 2014) to set up alternate dimensions that report the value represented in a different way via a simple formula?
I am trying to show my dims as brick units (based on standard metric bricks 215x102.5x65mm with 10mm mortar joint), and was hoping to create new 3 dim types, based on CO+, CO- and CO, so the alternate dims i want would be:
CO+ =[value-10]/225CO- =[value+10]/225CO simply =[value/225]
with the appropriate suffixes (CO+, CO- and CO). If this is possible..... or on the cards?
AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Error Cannot Find Excel File After Saving File As Template
Dec 6, 2012I'm linking an excel file to an .ipt file with iLogic code determining if the Material type is a certian value it will find the correct material thickness. These file work great when working on them thru Vault but when I "Save As Template" and create this file where our other template files are located (not Vault) this fuction does not work. I have realized that I had to place the a copy of the excel file in the same file folder as the template ipt, but even this does not fix the issue.
I recieve this error:
Error in rule: Material, in document: Part6
'MWW Materials (Inventor).xlsx' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
It seems completly countintutive that just saving the file as a template file would cause this not to work when all files that are required are located in the same file folder. Maybe I need a reference to the excel document within the iLogic code.

Jan 24, 2012I link an excel spreadsheet of text into my .idw files and I constantly have this issue where the text is crowded (see attached). I've tried changing the font, etc. but nothing seems to work. Every once in a while if I move the linked sheet within the .idw it corrects itself.
I'm using Inventor 2012.

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Use Embedded Excel File
Jul 4, 2012I have used the command "insert object" to embed an excel sheet. I can see in the modelbar the new stage called "3rd Party", expanded I also see "Embedding 1". If I use edit I can see my excel sheet. So far good.
My next task is to create a Rule to recall cells in the sheet. I use the command CellValue (embedded) to pick my cell value. My problem is that then I close my rule-editor I got the error:
Error in rule: Rule0, in document: Box test.ipt
GoExcel: 3rd Party worksheet not found: "3rd Party:Embedding 1", Sheet: "Sheet1"
It seems like I´m not able to recall my cellvalues.Whats the difference between embedding a excelsheet as above or use the add link command i Parameters window?

May 29, 2013I have AutoCAD 2013 and often "paste special" excel files that automatically update when the excel file changes.The problem I'm running into is I work with a person who has uses an older version of CAD 2004, so I always save to the older format for him.
When I etransmit, I be sure to add the excel file, but when he opens the dwg, only the outline of the excel appears in his dwg, no content.

Mar 26, 2011I am designing a RCC Dam and the shape of the dam is constant and will not change, but the dimensions of this shape are very likely to change depending upon hydraulic analysis.
I have written a program (irrelevant, but I am using MathCad 14) that performs a stability analysis of a RCC Dam (based on elevations from the hydraulic analysis) and then exports the dam dimensions and coordinates to Excel.
I am attempting to then take those coordinates (or dimensions) from Excel to create a 2-D dimensioned drawing of the Dam in AutoCAD.
I have successfully linked the Excel spreadsheet containing these coordinates and dimensions to AutoCad tables in my drawing, but I am having trouble getting AutoCAD to update my drawing as these tables update with different coordinates and dimensions.
I would like to have a drawing that is fully dimensioned (as the shape of the dam will not change), but that will update coordinates and dimensions as I pump out different dam dimensions from my stability analysis.

All the documentation says it's located in the Documents and Settings directory, but Windows Vista eliminated that folder and thus it is not in Win7 either.
I can find the SheetMetalRules.xml file, but I need the excel table for modification.

It's work fine but i have same question. There is some string to refresh an iLogic Module? When i push the ruel button the rule add the custom value in iProperties, but there are disabled, i have close the module an reopen it for correct display the value of the iProperties.
this module work with single parts. Can I do an rule who do the same thing of my string but in one assembly, do this for every parts of assembly automaticly??
