Is it possible to make this like a floating toolbar where I can toggle on/off certain snap types ?

i know there is a snap toolbar, but it snaps only once to desired snap type if the OSNAP (F3) ...
I want to be able to toggle on "intersection" for example, draw few lines, and then turn it off .
Somehow, in some way, I created a floating toobar for the layers manager. When I click on the layers property button, a "floating" version of it appears. I can close it, dock it, auto-hide it, etc., but can't get rid of it permanently.
I'm using LT 2011, which feels odd after two decades of running the "full strength" versions.
I'm using 2014 with 360 syncing on.Several times now, I've setup all my toolbars, snaps, etc the way I want them. I then save out an .arg and they also supposodly sync with 360. Then everything works fine for awhile and then in seemingly random change, they all go hinky, like they've been reset.
Also, my delete key has stopped working, and I can't redefine it in the CUI, and reloading my saved arg doesn't restore it.Also, I can't initiat a command of any kind with items selected. ie. select line then offset command. Reloading arg doesn't fix it.
When I add "Document Settings" to the quick acess toobar it causes Inventor to Crash when I close the active .ipt, idw, etc.

You should be able to show and hide partial customization menu toolbars with the -toolbar command because it can hide all toolbars including my partial customization menu toolbars currently shown. I've tried the toolbar menu alias (defined in the CUI command) and the name (refer to this link to the same image embedded below) and none work.
From where I can find drafting standards? I mean handy books or codes about how to:
1- name layers
2- define linetype scales
3- select colors for objects
4- define lineweights for objects
5- define plot styles

Am I able to change the workspace from 2D Drafting and Annotation to Autocad Classic? When I open the workspace dialogue box, AutoCAD Architecture is the only option. With AutoCAD 2010, the workspace dialogue box gave me three options: 2D Drafting and Annotation, 3D Modeling and AutoCAD Classic.
How do I get Autocad Classic as a workspace option?
I have to draft a lot of existing lots and easements from legal descriptions and recorded map documents. Does Civil 3D have an option to enter metes and bounds (bearing and distances into a table format and then "autodraft" from the entries in that table?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to draft an assembly - when i want to hide some components I go to the tree and right click on the part/assembly and select Visibility.
There is a square next to visibility on the right click menu (like a 'stop' button) and nothing changes when i select it.
When I right click on the tree a second time, a tick appears (like in modelling/assembly view) and when selected it disappears.
I want to turn items off in one click -
Just started using 2012 and noticed a delay in the mouse in the drafting space only. When I hover over the icons, the speed is normal, it only occurs in paper or model space.

How to change the default display settings for the common drafting aids(INFER, SNAP, GRID, ORTHO, POLAR, OSNAP, 3DOSNAP, OTRACK, DUCS, DYN, LWT, TPY, QP, SC) that are in the lower left corner of acad? when I open acad they are defaulted to icons. I'd prefer if the default display was to use the text descriptions noted above.

They are getting in the way of drafting, slowing down my program and genuinely annoying. Do you know how to prevent them from appearing? Also, and I believe related, there are blue boxes appearing on all my right angles for reasons beyond me. How can I also prevent these from appearing?

is there a quick way to show all these lines on profile for design and drafting purposes? ideally want to just show a line at each intersection would be fine.
tried using pipes takes too long to set up. this is one important feature to have in the software.
i can program it again but i have not enough time to finish this project by mid october if i keep programming things.

I'm running a copy of Photoshop CS2. Basically just using it for glorified paint for a board game im putting together for friends. I'd like to define some points which the mouse snaps to, so I can draw circles and lines with their centers or ends at the same place, so I don't have to keep nudging over to the center pixel by pixel. I'll be drawing some angles, so a compass would be helpful too.
maybe Im using the wrong software. If, perhaps, you know of a better tool for what I'm doing,

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a dwg that when dimensioned (or when inserting new text) the dimensions are off the 0 axis on the z. The only reason I think that, is it looks blurry till I flatten it(checked the properties before flattening and it says 0). What I don't understand is why its still happening after the whole drawing has been flattened.

I have a dual monitor setup and I maximize acad2011 on monitor 2 and have my toolbars on monitor 1.
I like to have my toolbars floating, but justified to the side with the 'gap' between the montiors so the tool bars fly out and I can see my email or reference docs or whatever on monitor 1 also. Sadly every time I close and re-open acad my toolbars re-justify to the center of monitor 1. I've tried unlocking and locking but that doesn't work. I am using the 'better', errr, excuse me, 'classic' workspace.
I'm working with some else on 2012 and I hate the stupid floating command line. How can I turn it off ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find out how the drafting pattern origin is determined in Revit 2013. A model pattern is very easy to adjust, but this is not true of a drafting patterns. How the drafting patterns even determine what their origin is. Is it centered on a project extents - therefore changing as the model expands, or is it set by a 0,0,0 origin similar to AutoCAD (but hidden). In an event it does not seem that this origin is adjustable (unless someone out there knows some Revit magic) so perhaps it does not matter, but I would like to know.

I'm having a problem with my properties window or floating palette. When I select an object, such as a "line", my properties palette refreshes itself for about 3 seconds. When I hit esc, or deselect the line, it takes another 3 seconds to refresh itself. You can even see the properties palette start at the top and go blank as it travels downward. Very slow process, I can not get anything done. IF I close my properties palette, it does not have the delay, but I can not work without it. When I reboot, it works fine for about 5-6 selections, then jams back up.

I would like the pattern to follow the rotation of the component when inserted onto the project. I can achieve it with model pattern but I would like to use drafting pattern because we need to show them on different scales.The diffuser family consists of a detail family in order to show the pattern. The pattern is already set to align with object and it still does not work.

I selected a multitude of elements to change from rigid insulation to CMU and all were the same in the fact none could be changed into model pattern. Heres what I did; I slected an element, then went to the Paint Tool selected Surface Patterns, then Pattern, then Fill Patterns but it wont let me choose model.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can undock the draw-panel to get it in "floating" mode, but I would like it to display all the icons in one single column (so all the icons from top to bottom). I googled around, and found that it should be possible to resize the floating panel (mousepointer should change when you move it to any side). However, my floating panel doesn't allow me to do that. It always displays the icons in a 4x3 or 3x3 matrix. (depending on the orientation).
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I am attempting to add a floating curve from the end of a simple straight alignment. No matter what I do the curve is created from the left end of the alignment. I first created an alignment from objects. I tried reversing the alignment and it still comes from the same point. I tried creating an alignment and drawing the objects using a fixed line. Still from the same point. How do you get it to create the floating curve from the opposite end?
