AutoCad :: Copy Object Into Certain Areas Of Island
Jan 1, 2012I have a map of an island. I am trying to copy and object say a block or triangle into the certain areas of the island several times. How can i do this using the command.

GIMP :: Aerial Photo Of Island - Make Water Areas Black And Land Areas White
Jan 29, 2013In the image below I have an aerial photo of an Island. I need to make it so as water areas are black and land areas are white (not greyscale) almost like a silhouette. My first plan was to draw round the island with a black paint brush and then use the "bucket fill" with a suitable threshold to fill all of the areas up to the black outline with black, however this doesn't work as the bucket fill either breaks through the black line or when I reduce the threshold, doesn't color the water areas solidly.

Mar 28, 2012I am trying to write a script that will automatically hatch several drawings. The drawings contain an area in which there are several objects that need to be hatched. For each drawing the objects vary in location within the one area.I figured I would set up my script to encompass the area with the object select hatch technique. This works fine if the objects in the area have no Islands. However when an object within the "object select hatch area" contains Islands it shades the whole object ignoring the Island or if it does recognize an island it will create an individual hatch for it.
However when I use the pick internal point method the hatch comes out as expected for the object with the Islands in it.

Aug 16, 2013I am looking to draw a large lake that I live on that has 14,000+ islands. I have started drawing small sections by bringing in high quality maps and tracing them using the spline command. Is there a faster way to trace the entire lake.
I want it to be all drawn with closed poly lines so that I am able to laser cut it and apply hatching. Other tracing programs in which I insert a image of the lake and it gives me the CAD format are very inaccurate and a pain to work with.

Jan 16, 2012I opened up a drawing which had a hatch over an area, and after deleting some text from within the hatch extents, found that the hatch didn't ignore the text & put the hatch behind it, rather, it created an island around the text to avoid a hatch/text clash.
I've removed a few pieces of such texts, and now have a bunch of rectangular holes in my hatch where the texts used to be. How can I remove these islands completely without having to re hatch the whole thing again?
(I realize I could simply minimize the size of the island by picking the four corners/vertices of the hatch and bringing them closer together, but this is a messy solution)

Dec 3, 2013I am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 version. While using SuperHatch (with Block option) in island polygons, the command creates 2 extra lines. see the attached screenshot. The 2 yellow color lines are extra lines.

Something happened and now when I highlight then enter my command and press enter it un-highlights the object and prompts me to highlight the object again. May 30, 2013When I use the copy tool, not copy and paste, the object that I copy doesn't show up. I click on an object click the copy took then click in the location where I want the new object, nothing shows up. Then if I save the drawing, close and reopen it, the object will be show up in the new location. It sometimes happens with move and rotate. I'm using 2013 64 bit version on Windows 7.

Nov 14, 2013If I am copying an object using snaps vertically down a wall a certain distance and come to a wall corner and then need to copy the object the same distance horizontally as I did vertically is there an easy way to enter this new direction? I keep thinking that I would just enter displacement and for X I should be able to use my mouse and snap/measure the old Y distance and then put Y,Z as 0. However, there is no option to get a relative distance in displacement. Is there something I am missing in the command?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Associative Copy Object Not Updating?
Nov 13, 2011The assembly in the attached files was working fine in 2011, then for some reason it stopped updating. So I opened and saved in 2012 and it still doesnt update.
Open the assembly, edit the extrusion in Copy Surface Master and change the distance to 500. You can see that the copied faces do not update in the other parts, but there are no error warnings.
I logged with my VAR and they said use derive instead and closed the ticket. Sure derive is another way but copy object with associativity should work so this is my way of bringing to autodesks attention.

Jun 18, 2013If I drag an effect from the target circle of one object to anther in the layer's panel it replaces the effect along with all appearance. But I want just to add the effect. For example, a layer has a drop shadow and a path, round corners. I want to move the drop shadow from the layer to the path so that the path now has the round corners and the drop shadow. To do this I have to open the shadow effect of the layer wright down its parameters, then create a shadow effect for the path with the same parameters which is a lot of work.
