Ok here is question for everybody, what are the top 10 must have plugins for CS? IF there are even 10. I mean what plugins, do you use on a regular basis regardless of your primary use of photoshop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking to draw a large lake that I live on that has 14,000+ islands. I have started drawing small sections by bringing in high quality maps and tracing them using the spline command. Is there a faster way to trace the entire lake.
I want it to be all drawn with closed poly lines so that I am able to laser cut it and apply hatching. Other tracing programs in which I insert a image of the lake and it gives me the CAD format are very inaccurate and a pain to work with.
I opened up a drawing which had a hatch over an area, and after deleting some text from within the hatch extents, found that the hatch didn't ignore the text & put the hatch behind it, rather, it created an island around the text to avoid a hatch/text clash.
I've removed a few pieces of such texts, and now have a bunch of rectangular holes in my hatch where the texts used to be. How can I remove these islands completely without having to re hatch the whole thing again?
(I realize I could simply minimize the size of the island by picking the four corners/vertices of the hatch and bringing them closer together, but this is a messy solution)
I am having trouble hatching an object using the island detection feature to accent an object within the main hatch pattern. I am using R14.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLet's say a have an image mask (see image shown below) where the white areas are the selection islands and then apply that to an image. What I want to do is get the average color for each selection island in that object. Just blurring gives you a gradient effect and if you blur too big, you just get a single color. That's not what I want.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 version. While using SuperHatch (with Block option) in island polygons, the command creates 2 extra lines. see the attached screenshot. The 2 yellow color lines are extra lines.
Is there any option or setvar to switch off these 2 lines or control this behaviour ?
I am trying to create an Island family with cabinet components nested into the island family. I have included both a 3D view of what I want the island to look like and a floor plan of what I have right now. I want to be able to adjust the size of each of these cabinets with a parameter. But I am not sure how to get them to stay lined up like they are right now.
If I change the size to a larger size the center cabinet overlaps the cabinet on the right. but if I add another reference plane to the right side of the center cabinet, when I try to adjust the size I get an error message saying "Constraints are not satisfied".
I have some paths covering several shapes (Islands, to be precisely), and they've been merged into a path file and bounced over a few documents. I'd like to select the path for just one of those islands so I can move and scale it. Is there anyway to separate one closed path for the others in the same merged file?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write a script that will automatically hatch several drawings. The drawings contain an area in which there are several objects that need to be hatched. For each drawing the objects vary in location within the one area.I figured I would set up my script to encompass the area with the object select hatch technique. This works fine if the objects in the area have no Islands. However when an object within the "object select hatch area" contains Islands it shades the whole object ignoring the Island or if it does recognize an island it will create an individual hatch for it.
However when I use the pick internal point method the hatch comes out as expected for the object with the Islands in it.
In the image below I have an aerial photo of an Island. I need to make it so as water areas are black and land areas are white (not greyscale) almost like a silhouette. My first plan was to draw round the island with a black paint brush and then use the "bucket fill" with a suitable threshold to fill all of the areas up to the black outline with black, however this doesn't work as the bucket fill either breaks through the black line or when I reduce the threshold, doesn't color the water areas solidly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own Design and web Premium CS6 and Lightroom 5.2 running with NIK and Canon Printer iPF9100 plugins running just fine on a Win7 machine.
I purchased and installed PhotoShop CC about a month ago/ When I start PhotoShop CC from the exec file the NIK and Canon plugins do not show up. If I am in Lightroom and ask to edit in PhotoShop CC the file opens in PhotoShop CC and I can access both plugins. If I am in Lightroom the NIK plugin is available and works just fine.
I have tried putting the plugins in:

My Canon dealer says the driver and plugin for my printer work just fine on other customers machines.
I upgraded from CS4 to CS6 and have not been able to see my plug-ins in CS6. I tried reinstalling them and dropping them in the CS6 file and still can't see them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop CS3. All plug-ins used to work before. Now with some of the plug-ins (liquify+vanishing point+artistic for example) the following happens:
- plug-in dialog window opens
- i can make changes and see the preview of them in the plug-in window
- i can apply the plug-in
- then PS displays a dialog saying something like "applying effect.."
- but when that is finished I'm back at my original image without the plug-in effect being applied (nothing shows in history window)
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Photoshop but the problem remains. I even tried installing a demo of PS CS4 but have the same problem with that version.
The error appears on the plugins with a more sophisticated user interface, the ones with the basic UI (like gaussian blur etc) still work ok.
like to know that ABSoft have just released their 64-bit version of Neat Image Photoshop 64-bit plugin.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an old version of Photoshop (3.0) which I've never updated because frankly it still suits my needs.(which are limited). I realized recently that when I switched from Windows 95 to Windows 98 se a few years back I lost some of my filters, like clouds and mezzotint, ripple, lighting and a handful of others. When I go back and fire up the 95 machine they are there. Also I notice they are in the plugin folder but not showing up on the menu. The best investigation I've turned up is that Photoshop(at least on the 98 machine) says it doesn't recognize the file extention?( 8bf files )although the computer lists this as a recognized file.( 8bf )

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently converted from CS5 to CS6. I noticed that CS6 was pointing to CS5 for plugins rather than CS6. I made the mistake of trying to move the plugin folder from CS5 to CS6, which made a bit of a mess. I ended up reinstalling CS6, getting the most current updates, and uninstalling and reinstalling my Nik plugins, and this time they went into the correct folder (CS6 instead of CS5) -- no problem, everything worked, except for Dfine which said it was only compatible with CS5.
I got the most recent version, which is to work for CS6; I uninstalled the old Dfine; installed the new one. Everything looks fine. Except that when I attempt to use it in CS6, it crashes completely and shuts everything down. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and gotten new downloads, etc. But this continues to happen. Everything else seems to work fine. The plug-ins are all together where they are supposed to be.
They all show up on the filter menu. I've exhausted all possibilities on the Nik side, and now I'm wondering if there's something on the Adobe Photoshop side.
