Jan 20, 2014If I copy paste something I loose the live paint area.I´m using the adobe illustrator CC. With CS5 I didn't have this problem.

Jun 5, 2012how do I copy and paste a portion of a Live Paint object and have the pasted object remain a Live Paint object? I can select portions of LP object and paste as regular objects, but I want them to remain live paint.

Feb 12, 2013So we have this custom construction note routine. It creates all the notes with station, offset, blah blah , and it is all together as once piece. So if you move the note group the leader will stay attached to it and it holds all of the label properties.
When I copy clip, wblock, insert these key notes into another drawing they are no longer a group and there is no way to move them all together.
This has created a lot of extra work and moving stuff around that does not seem necessary.How can I copy or move construction key notes from one drawing to another without losing the group properties. I have tried WBlock and making sure the grouping is on when I copy and paste/insert them but it still doesn't work.
Oh and we are running a 64bit 2013 with the carlson suite application,

Sep 9, 2013Im fairly new with illustrator, when i try and use live paint by selecting the brush strokes then going object > live paint > make, it makes my strokes really thin and it is really annoying

Oct 16, 2012I'm intermediate (at best) with Illustrator. I'm using CS6 on a 2009 iMac. How to make Illustrator ignore stroke weight/cap/join settings when I'm applying a live rotate/multiple copy effect on a group of paths? Currently, Illustrator sets the rotation point to the outermost part of my stroke (figuring in the strokes atrributes), but I only want it to calculate the from the path's structure: the coordinates of my designated anchor point.
Here's the top/right group of paths with a rotate/ 3 copies effect of 90 degrees. Looks problem-free at this view.
Here's that top/right group of paths with the addition of a reflect/ 1 copy effect of X-axis. Still no apparent problems.
But here's a close up of the misalignment of corner points. As shown, the Transform effect is based off the strokes attributes (the tip of its corner), not the actual location of the corner point.
It does not apply different cap/corner styles or stroke alignments; that only slightly nudges the pivot point to the center.
Plus, this one point stroke is somewhat arbitrary. I only set it so in order to see my dynamic effects.
Tweaking the vertical/horizontal moves effects of the rotated/copied elements won't support because this art will later undergo lots of alteration, mostly changes in stroke weight (maybe even variable stroke width).
I need the skeleton of my structure to snap together precisely.
Any solution, no matter how roundabout, would save this project!

Paint Shop Pro :: X4 Copy And Paste As New Layer
Sep 8, 2012I've been using PSP since 7.
Now I'm using x4 and I noticed that when I cut/copy a portion of a pic and then paste it as a new image....then I want to copy and paste that portion back into the original photo using paste as new layer....the icon doesn't change automatically from the lasso/cut tool to the move tool.
It used to do that automatically in psp 7 so that right after I paste as new layer, i can move that portion around right away.
In x4, after you paste as new layer, you can't move that layer around because it hasn't changed automatically to the move tool. I have to manually click on the move tool everytime I want to move the layer around. It's very irritating!
Any settings I can change to make it automatically change to "move tool" right after pasting a pic as new layer?
Paint.NET :: How To Be Able To Frame Without Copy And Paste Layering
Feb 21, 2013I used to use PhotoBucket for editing but they "updated" which was a downgrade. All their previous editing abilities I was very used to using are gone. Professional looking frames included. This is not just placing a colorful line around the edge of a picture. It was making it look like there was a real frame around it. Though the option for a regular box or poster frame was there as well and you used to be able size them with a slider. Examples:
realistic frame (the one i'm most interested in getting)
poster frame
stacked several frames
fade frame at edges on picture
The first one is the one I am most in pursuit of. Maybe I should not have even shown the others they may be a distraction. I really want to be able to frame without copy and paste layering, mathing out resizing canvas, etc etc work work work, a real looking frame. Are there any pluggins for Paint.net like that? Note I've googled already and only found simple boxing in a pic plugs for Paint.net.
Paint.NET :: Copy And Paste Multiple Layers Exactly?
Aug 9, 2012I'm trying to build a sprite image for a website based on a graphic that I created with Paint.NET.
The graphic has about 6 different layers.
To make the sprite image, I need the items in one layer to be duplicated in the exact same spots only shifted down by an integral number of the height. So, if the original image is 400px, I stretch the canvas out to 1200px. Now I want to copy each of the 6 layers and paste them exactly 400px down, then copy each of the 6 layers and paste them exactly 800px down.
I'm guessing there is a way to do something like this using the scripting ability of Paint.NET, but I have never used that feature before.
Illustrator :: Why Can't Use Live Paint
Oct 7, 2013I'm working on I've drawn a dragon using the pen tool. Now I want to use the live paint tool, however, after I select my dragon it won't let me "make" the live paint. I also can't expand, not sure if that's related.
I tested another simple drawing and was able to both expand and use live paint, so it must be something weird that I've done to my dragon.
I have a trial version of CS6. Also attaching a screen cap.

layer 1. background
layer 2. A transparent vector layer with text
I have a second image, the same exact size and resolution as the first two layer image. I would like to paste layer 2 from the first image, into the same exact position on image 2. Every time I paste. it centers the text, whether it is just a ctrl-v, or a paste layer. I've even tried promoting the layer 2 in the first image then pasting as new layer into image two, with no luck. Everything I've done pastes layer 2 from image one, into the center of image 2.

Illustrator :: CC Live Paint - Gap Detection
Jul 8, 2013In Illustrator CC every time I click Merge Paint I need to go back to Live Paint > Gap Options > and reset Gap Detections to "Paint stop at Small Gaps". Despite I set "Paint stop at Small Gaps" as my default many times now, it seems that Illustrator CC does reset it automatically to "Custom Gaps" and therefore Merge Paint doesn't work correctly. A nightmare, I am forced to use Illustrator CS6!

Aug 29, 2012Ever since I upgraded to CS6, I have big problems copying from illustrator to photoshop. I can get it to succesfully paste about 20% of the time. AI starts "not responding" while I'm trying to paste to photoshop every single time, but can usually snap out of it after a few minutes. It seems to have no rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn't.

Jun 15, 2013I am having some issues trying to live paint whilst in the pattern area of CS6. I have created a pattern which I would now like to colour. I am able to colour some areas like the spots on the plants head, but no ther gaps inbetween. Normally when not in the pattern area I can merge live paint and work with all the spaces but I cant do this for some reason. I need to work with the pattern whislt in this mode to ensure that the design is correct.
"The selection contains objects that cannot be converted. Live Paint groups can only contain paths and compound paths. Clipping paths are not allowed."
Whilst I ma here I am also having a bit of trouble with the oattern swatch. The pattern has been designed for a printed interior wallpaper. In the below image the blue box (follow the green arrow) is the full pattern repeat set at a 1/4 drop. I need that full square rather than a swtach. So effectively I need a 'Tile' that I can then ready for print. The reason for this is that it will be printed on wallpaper (52cm x 10m) and each roll needs to match up either side (with a 1/4 drop)
is it possible to 'grab' the pattern in the blue square?
Illustrator :: Dividing Shape For Live Paint
Oct 23, 2012I have the following image above where I'm trying to add color to different aspects of the drawing. For instance, I'd like to be able to add color to the hair (ie the eyebrows and hair on top of his head) and I'm using live paint to do this. The problem is, some of the live paint areas spill into each other, ie the hair spills into the outline of the head, etc. So I'm wondering, what is the best way to go about dividing these areas so live paint recognizes them as two different entities? What I've been doing currently is drawing a line segment, and then using divide below, however this gives me unpredictable results sometimes and I have a hunch there is a better way.

Sep 9, 2012I've built two different colored strokes around some text (inner layer is green, outer layer is red). When I convert this to the Live Paint Mode by clicking the letters with my Live Paint bucket, a warning comes up telling me certain things might be lost. I press okay, and the red outer layer of the text dissapears. I want that layer to stay though! I've attached pictures of this process.

Nov 8, 2013I think this is a live paint issue, but I'm not totally sure... I create an image and filled it in using live paint. It looks just fine when I view it in Illustrator and fine again when I save it as a jpg or gif or png. But once I save as a pdf, I get these tiny white lines where the edges of some of the artwork are.

Dec 16, 2012When copying a gradient filled shape from illustrator CS6 to Photoshop CS6 an outline "halo" appears in the Photoshop image although the shape has no outline to begin with. Is this a clipboard issue? Is it an anti-aliasing setting I can change? Apparently it isn't as noticeable when I drag the shape from illustrator to Photoshop as it is when using the copy/paste command. But in both situations there seem to be issues in the border when gradient filled shapes touch other shapes.

Illustrator :: Won't Copy And Paste At 300 PPI Regardless Of Settings
Feb 10, 2014I just recently reformated my computer and I've been having an issue with copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop. Before I could copy a 2"x2" vector box from Illustrator into photoshop making a new document and the size and resolution would match. That is the new document would say 2"x2" at 300 ppi in photoshop and the preset would read "clipboard". I would then hit ok and paste and it would match perfectly. Now since I've reformated, photoshop always creates a new document with the wrong size regardless of the settings I enter in Illustrator or photoshop. I have document raster and effects set at 300 ppi in Illustrator and I have the new document set at 300 in photoshop, but it always transfers the 2"x2" box at 72 dpi regardless of settings. Again this used to work before so I'm assuming there is some setting I forgot about.
The main issue is the clipboard preset is not matching the document size, its almost as if Illustartor is telling photoshop it's a different resolution when it's not. Copying to 72 ppi seems to have no issue, which makes me think Illustrator just isn't sending it out at 300 ppi, but I don't know why as I have the document set at 300 ppi. I confirmed this as I can make a 2"x2" box in photoshop and paste into Illustrator and it reads as 2"x2" at 300 ppi in Illustrator, but if I copy from Illustrator back to photoshop it pastes it at 72 ppi. Changing the settings to 300 ppi in Illustrator seems to have no effect. Might be a bug. Should I try reinstalling?
Illustrator :: How To Reduce Number Of Lines In Live Paint
May 21, 2013I'm trying to use adobe illustrator to color the background of a photograph green while keeping the person in the picture the same color.
I used live trace to get a vector image and then attemped to use live pain to finish the job, but I end up with thousands of blue lines and gaps that are too small to color in. Is there anyway i can reduce the number of gaps so that i can actually paint the background?
I've already tried the gap options and adjusting the settings to small medium or large did nothing.If this isn't possible, is there any other feature in adobe illustrator that would allow me to achieve my goal?
I have a photograph with a person in the middle; i want the person to remain the same and the background to be changed to green.

May 23, 2013I run AI CS6. I open new document and prepare two shapes and fill them up with Pantone colors for reference, for my design. I procced to make some work, name cards for example.
Now I want to send the card to my printer, while I work on the rest of colleterals. So I open new document, identical to the one I oppened 30 minutes ago. I don't change color setting or anything. But when I paste the cards to new document, they change color.When I sample the colors, the Color Pallet identifes them correctly by thier pantone number.
