What I am trying to do is drawing a rectangle. But apparently autoCAD is acting up and wouldn't let me draw it. After clicking the rectangle button located at the top, I tried to draw a rectangle in the sketch area and this is what I got.
View 9 RepliesI have just been trying the stretch command. I have never used this before today so thought it might be good to learn a bit more.I have managed to stretch items ok but not accurately. I tried to stretch a simple rectangle 200mm to the right. I hit the stretch command and make my selection, hit enter then type in 200mm enter, and it goes right off the screen. If I drag the rectangle it's fine but not accurate.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have been messing with a simple black rectangle and when I transform it, jagged edges appear. This is the base for a logo for web. I have anti-alising checked in pref. The logo looks horrible and blurry/jagged on the edges even when previewed on several screens from pc to mac.
this is also happening with text, that has been made an object (top of text seen in the rectangle.)
I have a data set including .shx .shp .prj and .dbf files each named the same for landuse, rail, road, etc for a single city. How can I open these files to export a simple line drawing for use in a thesis project as a map.

we use Corel Draw but different versions. Some of us use the X4, some X3 and some even 12 or 11. We have huge problem with the time interval past while importing even a single simple outline drawing. We usually wait from 4 - 7 minutes.
My question is what could be the problem? Different versions of Corel Draw?, bed LAN connection?, or something else?

It does exactly what i want. Changing the corner radius of a vector rectangle after drawing. I can change it again and again and define the radius of the corners independently too.

There should be a "Rounded rectangle tool" to create rounded boxes ... but it seamed its not loaded by default.If I click on the red marked position nothing happen. If I click on the blue icon I see only "Stamp Edge". How can I get the other tools mentioned in the help page (e.g. Rounded Rectangle)?
Illustrator keeps freezing when applying an effect such as texture-grain to a simple gradient, or even rasterizing a simple black circle. My system is about a 6month old macbook pro with 16gb ram, i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB. What could be causing this? It wasn't like this when i first started using the laptop but has started to do it everytime i try and do any of those simple tasks recently.

What I want to do is use a rounded rectangle to encompass all of the other layers, so that the surrounding pixels (around the rounded rectangle) are transparent.
I want all of my current layers to be the content of a rounded rectangle.
I saw that the Rounded Rectangle properties were not available on the regular rectangle (to change corner radius).

I port my autolisp routines to NET.A simple autolisp routine changes the UCS to another one.The change needs no regeneration and is immediate.But in NET i have to use "UpdateTiledViewportsFromDatabase".When the dwg is loaded with lots of objects it takes quite a lot of time to regen.Is there a way to have an immediate change using NET just like when using autolisp command?Also why autolisp needs no regen?

Is it clear, that corridor edit commands and features are not good enough to add another structures as stairs, culverts, parking lots with green islands and another civil structures...
Export to AutoCAD or AEC Explode converts drawing to some 2D/3D exploded hybrid, where it takes hours of editing, flatting and joining lines to make graphically correct and usable 2D drawing. And what worse, when the design is changed, user has to start from scratch again and again, which is not twice effective... I've never used AutoCAD before but I'm trying to generate a sphere with triangular meshing. I'd like for the sphere to be centered relative to the coordinate axis. I'd also like to know the simplest way to export the data such that I can go in and process the coordinates, faces, and what not without too much trouble.

I know how to smooth contours in Civil 3D but it does not solve my problem. You may say "You should use commands like swap edge,delete line .
I have a beam that is simply supported and I am needing to do FEA analysis on it. Simply supported on the ends with a load in the middle. Hand calculations show deflection is 2.256in. FEA shows delfection as 1.247in.
I think the problem is the constraints that I have placed on it. I have one fixed constraints at each end. One of these needs to be fixed and the other needs to be able to move horizontally. How do I set this up to get the correct results?
I have downloaded Inventor 14, and the program appears to start up without problems. However, when i create a simple sketch, it first says "Choose a plane". In my textbook, it shows a picture of the three planes to choose from. However, my computer screen shows a blank gray screen. It appears some tool bars are missing as well.
However, if i click in the space where I imagine the axis should be, it takes me into sketch mode. Similarly, when I draw a line, the information bar reads like I am drawing a line, but no line shows up on the screen.
Is there a specific requirement on my computer I could be missing? I have downloaded Inventor twice, and both times had the same problem with the program. Perhaps a video card I need to have, or a certain RAM requirement?
how do I use Civil 3D to do basic pipe analysis computations? For example, I give it the slope, material, etc. and it spits out the flow velocity, flow depth, slope min, etc.
All I want for now is a basic tool for sizing pipes without all the bells, loops & whistles. I can learn the fancy pipe networking stuff later.
I'm trying to convert an existing VBA routine to a vb.Net dll. One of the functions is inserting and scaling an existing tif image file into a blank AutoCAD 2010 drawing. I've searched and found just a few examples, but they all seem horrifically complicated . Am I missing the simple way of doing this, or is this an example of the seemingly massive learning curve of .Net that is beginning to remind me of my collegiate C class (shudder)?

I have an assembly that I have created a sketch on and applied some dimensions. I would like to send those properties to an excel file that can then be inserted into an idw. What is the best way to get the parameter values into an excel file that would update as the model changes? I found were more focused on changing the model with the excel sheet which is not what I'm trying to do. I did try them however, but whether I clicked link or embed nothing appeared in the excel file at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to export a .SHP file containing some polygons to a GIS user so he can lay the shapes in a GIS map. The data he needs from me is the outlines of several wetlands I've designed in C3D 2010. There isn't any elevation data associated with the outlines. They are just traced waterlines from each pool set into a layer called "permanent pools." He wants these to show location in a GIS plan.
When I try to MAPEXPORT, and then selct each of my 10 pool outlines, it says "no object selected" in the command line.
