View 12 RepliesI have been messing with a simple black rectangle and when I transform it, jagged edges appear. This is the base for a logo for web. I have anti-alising checked in pref. The logo looks horrible and blurry/jagged on the edges even when previewed on several screens from pc to mac.
this is also happening with text, that has been made an object (top of text seen in the rectangle.)
Started producing a new catalogue some time ago very happy working away on the first 3 – 4 pages
Before long I was up to 100 pages, looking fantastic. But then the thought come to me, I have set may page colour to BLACK and all my drawing and text are WHITE as I said looks fantastic until you go to print a page. How much black Ink would you use printing 100 pages black.
SO MY QUESTION IS CAN COREL REVERSE THE LINE ART TO BLACK AND THE PAGE TO WHITE SO I CAN HAVE A PRINTABLE VERSION ?
I have tried publishing to PDF then in acrobat replacing document colours and on screen that works fine but when you print it still prints
With the black background and white text for some reason.

Basically a CAD program I use only exports PNG files. The CAD program can export in black and white and in color. The color PNG files open fine in CorelDraw. The black and white PNG files just show up as a black filled box.
I attached an example PNG file. Example PNG
If I covert a font or shaped image under Bitmaps=>Convert to Bitmaps, I get a white solid background. In Corel x5 this would be a clear background. Also I can no longer Cover to Bitmap a photo then open with bitmap editor to create rectangles or ovals with clear faded edges. These are items I use all the time. How do I achieve this now. Also x6 will not save in x5 version. It will warn me of potencial problems then fail.

View 3 Replies View Relatedin older versions there was a option to use the very useful symbol.ttf's quickly and accurate with a little roll up menu that showed all characters and one could select and drag drop it into the document. I tried in vain to enable that in X5 with the so called symbol manager. I told Draw where the symbol.ttf's are but in the symbol manager I just see the path to it and nothing to use. I'm talking about the stars, arrows, weather etc. files.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to the forum and new to CorelDRAW X5. I use CorelDRAW to laser engrave text and logos through an engraving machine. Most basic logos are easy to convert right through CorelDRAW, but today I ran into a serious issue.
I received a logo that was very detailed in color and also had numerous different shadows in it. When automatically switching to black and white, the colors get very warped and the shadows take over the entire logo.
How do you go about switching a logo like this to black and white?
What I am trying to do is drawing a rectangle. But apparently autoCAD is acting up and wouldn't let me draw it. After clicking the rectangle button located at the top, I tried to draw a rectangle in the sketch area and this is what I got.

I am using the trail version of pse 10 and its great but I don't think I will purchase because of the hard to read text.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHave an issue when importing pdf files into both X5 and X6. Fonts have been converted to outline and without Ghost script installed overlapping vectors fill in with white! With Ghost script installed center of fonts like e,b,p etc fill in with font color. Convert to eps prior to importing still has the issue? Also had some objects reposition on import but fixed if converted to eps? Processing a lot of client files for output to image so this is a real problem.

When she prints, the text created in Corel is in color, but the imported jpg is B&W. The issue just started. She has used Corel 11 for some time.

I have never used this before today so thought it might be good to learn a bit more.I have managed to stretch items ok but not accurately. I tried to stretch a simple rectangle 200mm to the right. I hit the stretch command and make my selection, hit enter then type in 200mm enter, and it goes right off the screen. If I drag the rectangle it's fine but not accurate.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just noticed a new nifty function in CorelDRAW: When you try to add text to an existing Rectangle object, the new Paragraph Text automatically becomes a child of that Rectangle object. Cool!
However, I've now decided to remove that Paragraph Text object and replace it with an Excel object for the better table functions it provides.
Now here comes the problem: How can I separate the Paragraph Text from the Rectangle object again?
I have added a couple of other objects to my page so far, and I don't want to undo all of this or re-reate a new Rectangle object.
Here's a screenshot demonstrating the situation:
