Aug 26, 2012Why does pse 10 use black background with white text. Its harder to read and customers have complained, why use it when everyone knows black text on white background is easier to read. For example this discussion board is after all black on white!
I am using the trail version of pse 10 and its great but I don't think I will purchase because of the hard to read text.

Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. To use magic wand gives bad result when applied to text? So what can I do? I am trying to place text over image. I know I could write it over the image but I need the text as a transparent layer some place else.

Aug 24, 2011I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.

May 20, 2013Using Elements 9 I was adding black text to a .jpg image. Somehow during the process, the text being entered defaulted to a "wavy, illegible set of characters". Spent 30+ minutes looking at FAQs and have given up. I want to reset to default simple clear black characters. Closing and restarting Elements does not resolve this issue. When ending a newly entered set of text - still get "wavy, illegible set of characters!"

I want to upload an image of this book cover to various web sites that require a Jpeg image and the book cover has to cover at least 85% of the image and require a pure white back ground. Pixel size can be 1,000 or more. I did go to the library to get reference books but, I can't ascertain from these books how to do this. I am a beginner to Photoshop and realize I will have to get training for future projects. Jun 24, 2011I have made a digital picture of a book page with my digital camera. My camera is a 12 mpix digital camera and it should make good digital pictures, at least in theory. The original picture made by the camera was 4000 - 3000 pixels big and I made a small chunk out of it which you can find in the attachment.
My problem is how to isolate text from the background to make almost perfect text selection. I need text for the OCR procedure so the text selection needs to be appropriate.
I have already tried some simple methods like magic wand, contrasts, brightness etc but this things look like a game to me. I would like to know if there is a systematic approach (channels, masks) to perfectly isolate black color from the rest of the picture and how to apply it.

Dec 29, 2012Would it be possible to separate the text from the background, as in make the white background transparent (Or as close as possible)? Normally I would use the Alpha feature on Keynote, but the font is too tricky for me to do that. It would be amazing if you could remove the background and keep all the text (including cup).
