Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. I want to upload an image of this book cover to various web sites that require a Jpeg image and the book cover has to cover at least 85% of the image and require a pure white back ground. Pixel size can be 1,000 or more. I did go to the library to get reference books but, I can't ascertain from these books how to do this. I am a beginner to Photoshop and realize I will have to get training for future projects. I wanted to upload an image from my computer to show you the book cover but there was a dialogue box that appeared saying the file was too large to upload. The book cover I designed is 8.5' x 11.0"
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis has started to happen to me recently, working across indesign and Photoshop, for some cutouts it is easier to have a "pure white" background (0%c, 0%m, 0%y, 0%k) rather than transparency, it keeps down file sizes and speeds up workflow etc - plus sometimes press images just come like that.

recently I have noticed that some images, despite being saved as a "pure white" background, are coming out with 1%c, 1%m, 1%y, 0%k backgrounds once I re-open them. Doesn't matter if I save, Save as, copy the image, duplicate it, I keep getting the 1% color back in. This is occasionally causing problems with printers.
When I convert an RGB psd to CMYK color mode in photoshop everything works normally, but when I save as a TIF and open the file in any application other than Photoshop any white space in the image background is yellow.
I am running Photoshop CS4 on Mac OS 10.5.8.
I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.
I removed a background (chroma color green), using Photoshop CS2, from an image to be imported into a NLE (premiere pro 2.0). When I open the image a new background, a white slate, appears. I'd like for the background to remain transparent. What am I doing wrong? I found something a while back saying some files (JPEG, TIFF, etc) don't support transparent background and a white slate is added to replace areas without pixel content, but I can't find the article/thread. Is there a file that supports transparent backgrounds?

I would like the image showing little america to have the setting shown in the book next to it. That means to have the white background and the image being centered.

Using Photoshop 7 and the magnetic lasso, I had no problem extracting the original image from a white background. I then open a new transparent canvas and copy the extracted image to this canvas. However when I choose to save as a JPEG image, I'm back with the white background. I see in the Matte menu I can choose other backgrounds, e.g. black, grey, etc.. But is there any way to save the extracted pixels without any background.
The reason I ask is that I want to use this extracted image in PrintShop, a card making program. I would like to be able to insert the image of the Christmas ornament without any background. Very often in creating a card you've already created a colored background. It would be nice to be able to insert the ornament without the rectangular white background.

I've been frustrated in my attempts to do the same in Elements 11. No. 1, how can I get a plain white background? Am I really stuck with the choices the program provides? No. 2, more importantly, how can I resize a photo once I put it on the collage? I used to be able to use the corner arrows to shrink or blow up a photo. I can't even figure out how to get the arrows.

Yesterday, I took a number of experimental shots (a red phone cord lying on a white background). The white background (an artists white canvas lying on the floor) was well lit from above using 5600K lights.

The shots were all taken using auto focus, auto exposure, etc and in the view finder everything appeared to be correct, but on later viewing the photos, the white background appears to be grey.

I am not concerned about the picture quality only the grey background and I did not undertake a WB as I thought that this was part of the auto mode when taking the photo. the shot was taken by half pressing the shutter release butto to ensure that everything was OK then continuing to fully press the button.
In the attached image, I'm trying to achieve a true white background in PSE. I put a true white box in the image to show the gray background that's in the original shot. (I understand it'd be best if I could achieve the true white with the camera in the original shot, but this seems to be the best I can do with the camera. I set white balance and over-exposed as far as I could without washing out the subject. Still a gray background.)

The problem I'm having is that every PSE tool I use to try to adjust the background image washes out the thin hairs of the grain. Ideally, I'd like to be able to create a perfect mask so I can just kockout the background. That way, I can adjust the tones of the subject without affecting the surrounding area.
I'm having this odd problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have a web image (gif format) with a transparent background (deleted the background layer before saving as a gif), and when the image is against a darker webpage, the text of the image (that is basically all the image is, just blended text) has white pixels around the edges of the text. Did I do something wrong when I deleted the background, or how I saved the file???
View 3 Replies View Relatedid like to have her on a white background. im good all the way to the point where you use the 'move' tool to drag the masked image onto a white background ( which is a blank PS document saved in Jpeg). when i drag it over i end up with a huge close-up crop that fills the entire image of my white background so that you cant even see the white.
conversely, when i drag the white background over my mask i only get a small rectangular box of white that fails to cover the entire background area once i drag the background layer below the mask.
