I need a line to show a fence and it should be a line with a / poking out on one side like -/-/- but the lines in between longer and the side lines just on one side...
How to make one like that or where I can find one?
I am using C3D 2012. When I draw a fence line (barbwire) it works fine until it is a short section, then the "x" symbol does not show.
You can change the scale but that also changes the symbol size. You used to be able to change this in the command line. Is there a way to do that without creating another style?

easy way to show the user the polygon/fence they are creating when Editor.SelectXX is called by indicating it with a dashed line and coloring the area with a semitransparent fill, kind of like when you use the AREA command or when you click somewhere and AutoCAD shows you the selection window you're creating?

I am creating profiles and I can not get the existing grade linetype to show up as a uniformed dashed line. The layer is set up for a dashed line but the existing profile line is made up of too many nodes to make the linestyle look right.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIm using LT 2012 & have an issue with a few drawings.
Example:I draw a single line & set to 'Dashed' (or any other type). If i then rotate that line the linetype scale changes to a very small dash & the actual scale of the line changes. rotate it abit more & it will change again.
In our work we draw many symmetrical outlines. In many cases, chiefly due to space constraint, we draw only half the outline and use a centerline of the symmetry to dimension the part.
Our current method is to use sketches to achieve this. I wonder if there is a way that we can make this linetype available from the styles? Diagram attached below.
Whenever i draw a new line, hatch etc - Autocad draws the object with a certain lineype. Then after i draw the line i have to manually click the line and set it's linetype to "By layer". It doesn't matter which layer i set as current, it never draws by layer, allways by this other linetype.
Using Cad 10 Architecture - But tried opening the file on other versions aswell, with the same result.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe linetype set in the active standard for section line is totally ignored when creating a section view. We have our line type set to 'Long Dash Dot' as per the BS8888 standard but it changes it to a 'Long Dash Short Dash' line. We use the same linetype on the centerline layer with no problem. Why does this not work??

Any way to build or download a linetype that can display as a thick dashed line surrounded by 2 parallel lines on either side of it?
We use them to denote underground stormwater pipes in our survey models.
Currently I need to manually set each line to a polyline, give it a global width, and then draw a DLINE of the same width from endpoint to endpoint. The down side is that not only is it laborious, I also have to set the Z values to zero, so we lose the elevation feature of the pipe in the model.
Ideally it would need to have enough functionality to alter the spacing of the dashes, and the width of the line.
I've just recently caught up to 2.8 (From 2.4 something or other believe it or not ) and amongst a couple of things I have to say I don't like is the fact that previously when setting a path, if I wanted it to be either perfectly horizontal or vertical I could see by the steps in the path preview line whether it was or not.
With the new version, initially at least, that's no longer the case. As I tend to work with straight lines a lot of the time it's proving to be a bit of a pain. Is there any way to set the path preview line to show the steps again to indicate a straight line.

I'm looking for a chain link fence 'style'.
it seems in the past i've seen them done with curtain walls but i'm not finding anything in the DG.
I need to draw a palisade ( steel bar picket fence) now the issue is it is on a slope. It seems easier for me to draw it level so i was wondering if there was a technique where by the pickets remain vertically plumb but you can tilt the whole unit down so the tops of the pickets follow the slope as do the rails whilst keeping the pickets plumb.

I would like to draw a dotted line to show the pin inside the boxtubing. I click properties and I only get the choices of layer , block and continious . I have Autocad Lite 2005.
Also, I love the dimension tool , but how do I know how wide or long I am making it until I do my dimension , and then it is too short or too long. It don't seem like there is a way to edit it. I know it is.

Has used the frame generator to model the posts and horizontal pipes that would go into a chain link fence?
We have generated several fence models as simple part files. They work in that they get the basic idea across and they're fairly quick to create. But I started thinking about a more detailed model and I wondered if it would be an appropriate use of the frame generator.
