I am trying to move a block on a curve with reference to 2 points on the curve.I am facing problem when one point is on horizontal part of curve and other point is at an angle.How do i place the block at angle.
View 6 RepliesIf I have a dynamic block of a window. I can move either side of the block but the basepoint doesn't move. Is there a way to move the basepoint as well so its not off in space? or just delete it and have it now shown?

I have a block (room info) that has five line os text with attributes that display grips which allow them to be moved in whatever drawing I put them in. Within that block there is a little polyline that is the square with a dash through it to represent sq. ft. that I made into a seperate block ( sq ft tick). The room info block part of it works great in all my drawings, but the darn sq ft tick block within the room info block won't budge! I have tried giving it a seperate insertion point and giving that block its own attribute, but no luck.
Is there any way to have a block within a block that has the same ability to move around as the other elements?
I have two set of chain drives connected to each other through a common axle. The motor (which is not visible in my assembly) drives the yellow sprocket.
The two sprockets mounted on the grey axle is attached with a key way so when the yellow sprocket turns, the two chain drives turns.
I want to attach the blue sled on the blue chain, the red sled on the red chain and then rotate the yellow sprocket so both of the sleds moves with their chains (at the same speed/ time).
The blue sled is going to move a rolled bar (the orange one) on the floor (glass square) a certain length and then the red sled is going to "take over" and continue to move the bar on the floor.
I want to make sure I´ve got the spacing between the sprockets in the short chain drive (red) correct so the red sled takes over when the blue sled disappears under the floor.

Edit: I use IV 2012, but I also downloaded IV 2013 professional (trial) so I can use the dynamic motion.
Heres the issue;
I created my main corridor which is a 4 lane arterial with ditching on both sides targeted to my prelim surface. On my main corridor i have several intersections and approaches which i created intersections for and set the targets so they are correct, i also created secondary roads for all intersections. Now that it is visually correct there is a few things i would like to do.
1) Combine all intersections to my main corridor and create surface for adjusted volumes.
2) Raise combined corridor and intersections to adjust cuts / fills so that all attached intersection and adjacent corridors adjust with the main corridor.
Do i have to go to my main corridor profile and move each curve and tangent separately, then check all other profiles and intersection to insure everything has been adjusted?
I want to know if there is a way to make the vertical hatching angle move with the curve of the object being hatched.
In other words how do I/can I stop this ...
How can I add an attribute to a block without the other attributes to move from their position. With the ATTSYNC belongs unfortunately not because the old attributes moved back to the original places that I will not.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe original drawing was created in Inventor but i've never had such a problem before. I've been revising a drawing and to revise, i need to move a block 50mm from its original position. It's not allowing me to do so though.
As soon as i select move...it goes into "not responding". I can't explode it either....i can explode everything in the model space and once....but this leaves all dimensions as lines arrows etc.
I've even taken the same block into the drawing....and move/exploded it without any problems. In the properties bar....they are exactly the same except for the coordinates!
The really annoying thing is....i can't even delete and replace as it keeps crashing! There aren't any constraints either.
I have a problem with using .Net to insert a dynamic block and set the size property. The attribute text does not move correctly on insert, but will if manually stretched after the fact. From my research the recommendation is to make sure the attribute definition is marked as "Locked".
I have an attribute definition inside a circle (classic door/window number), both the circle and attribute are included in the Action Selection Set, however only the circle moves correctly. It all works correctly if manually inserted/stretched.
I need to select a block in AutoCAD, and move it up or down vertically. I can get to the point where I have the user select a particular block, but after that, how do I get a reference to the block selected so I can move it up or down?

I like everything for Rev 1 to be together (Drawn By, Checked By, Approved By, Date, Description, and Rev Number)...However, i was in a hurry and skipped Approved By. Once i added it, after the entire title block was done, it moved it to the very bottom on the list. Is there a way to "Move Up" so that it's with the other Rev 1 group?

I need this block to do the following:
1. Move the right piece so it ends at 3', 4', & 5'.
2. the move right hook and 'backing' to stretch/copy (or array) so it adds a hook to the right and fills in the backing.
so this means that a 3' gets 4 hooks, 4' gets 5 hooks and 5' gets 6 hooks.
3. the block as shown is the smallest configuration with 3 hooks.
I could just set up a visibility and draw each one at it's appropriate length but I'm trying to keep this simple block to a min size. If all else fails, that's the route I'll take.
I've tried a couple different configurations and I keep getting duplicates or the end piece doesn't move the correct distance.

I found a program which rotates selected block(s) about thier insertion point. I modified it to rotate each of the block(s) about the y-axis. Works great. Now, I would like to change it so that it rotates a copy of each block about the y-axis and leaves the origial block in place. Its kind of like the mirror command exept it is rotating the new block(s) to the other side instead of flipping them. I want to keep all or the parameters of the block(s) the same as each original. I am using AutoCAD 2010. MOCORO is not recognized as a command. The new features workshop says to use the new command AMCOPYRM, which is not recognized either. Go figure.

View 9 Replies View Related I have this Dynamic Block which has a few distance parameters on it and an attribute at beginning of each parameter which are attached to a stretch action. If manually bring the block in. And set a value to attribute and then stretch the it , attribute move along with action. But when I do it pragmatically it doesn't . Basically attribute stays at original location of original block before stretch. What is wrong with my code. Or Shall I do something to Attributes when I change the distance parameters in Program? I don't know .

I want to draw hyperbola curve whose equation is x^2/a^2 - y^2/b^2=1. May I use equation curve tool to make the above hyperbola.
I have also made a hyperbola curve of aforesaid equation through conventional method on mathematical ground in the past.
I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow.Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?
how to curve text within a shape, as paragraph text, not artistic text? (See my attached image.)
I have drawn the shape, inserted the text as paragraph text, but the text always wants to sit straight. I am so frustrated as I can find a workaround in either Corel or Adobe CS products. I have tried using artistic text in Corel, but have to do it line by line - and this brings other problems, such as I cant justify each line with each other, and sometimes a character jumps up relative to the other characters and the entire paragraph does not taper in...so this is not a solution, apart from the fact it will take me FOREVER to insert line by line....I would like to treat the text as a multiple line paragraph, and follow the shape.
Why in LR4 is the Tone Curve default set to Custom with a contrast lowering curve? I would like the default to be linear, but I can't remember how I set that up in LR3.

I try to select and move a layer using the Move Tool, another layer is immediately selected and moved instead.
Also, if I have layers inside a folder and try to move one of those layers, the entire folder is selected and all layers within that folder move.
I have not grouped any layers together.
