At the office we're still using AutoCAD 2010.To get the .Net API documentation one had to download ObjectARX 2010 and copy the help files to the help directory.
It seems, however, that ObjectARX 2010 is no longer available.where to get it, or do I have to download ObjectARX 2011? Would that work?

I'm presuming that there is some sort of system variable that controls this, but I have not been able to find it in the help files. View 6 Replies View RelatedWe are civil engineering company, and most of out work is to get drawing from a civil architects and add our layer on that drawing, but when opening those drawing we get the message that there is ObjectARX missing, and from that point on our life become very difficult, we cannot copy paste objects, and lots of other basic action cannot be complete without crashing autocad.
I am using AutoCAD 2010, but i saw it happening with all the versions of AutoCAD.search for enablers are set on in Option.
I've recently migrated from AutoCAD 2008 (non-industry specific) to AutoCAD 2010 so I don't know if this was an issue in 2009.
Back in 2008, when I choose the 'window' option when specifying a plot area, AutoCAD would show the workspace so that I could manually select a windowed plot area, and at the same time the whole workspace would be greyed out except the previously active window area.
This was handy, because we can have as many two dozen title-blocks (and therefore separate viewports) in paperspace, and knowing what plot area I last plotted or added as a saved page setup.
In 2010, it no longer does that. I now have to rely on the dashed border to know where the active plot area is/was (checked 'display printable area' in options>display tab) which I personally don't really like using.
Eventually after I copy and paste with the clipboard enough times within one drawing, the ability goes away and I can no longer copy and past one item from one drawing to a separate drawing. I need to use the clipboard function because that is the only way of getting an item from one drawing to another.
I have download a clear clipboard function but it doesn't work. Closing CAD and restarting does not reinstate the function.
Okay so LDD 09 will no longer be supported by why do we get a new version included with C3D 2013?The install package is larger than the original so there are some differences.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFrom my lidar point cloud, I created a surface with 1 & 5 foot contours. I then put in a feature line between two hills to represent a fenceline. I go to look at the properties of that 487 foot feature line and the 3D length is only 1/2 foot longer than the 2D. The min and max elevations difference is 22 feet. So how can the 3D line only be that much longer than the 2D?

I was out of town for a week and I think someone messed around with my CAD settings while I was gone. Now when I click Insert->DWG Reference, AutoCAD brings up a dialog that says: "Path to DWG file to attach:" instead of bringing me to a windows explorer type menu where I select the file to attach like it always has in the past. I can still attach xrefs by typing in xref and doing it through that menu, but what setting was changed?

Something was changed in my Inventor settings yesterday, and I have no idea what it was, or how to change it back.
In the part sketch mode, when I go to dimension an object, I no longer get the box pop up for me to enter the dimension. I now have to double click the dimension in order to enter the correct dimension.
What was changed, and more importantly, how do I change it back?
I was working along being productive when I went to edit a text box. I placed my cursor in a line of text to edit and when I start typing, the rest of the line dissapears!
When I try to start a new line of text or text box, the cursor simply moves along but lays down nothing. I've tried changing font, color and style but nothing works.
I've checked in many different existing files, all do the same thing.
I drew several components in one drawing and saved them with WBLOCK. I opened the drawing into which I wanted to insert the blocks but they are no longer soilds. They are just the lines upon which the original soilids were based. What have I done wrong?
UPDATE: I purged the drawing and the blocks inserted correctly.
My properties dialogue box no longer opens on my screen. I've tried opening it uning the icon and the command line with no luck. When I click the icon my screen will flicker bun the box does not open. how to get it back?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs you can see from the image below, the preview shows the weld I want and need, but as per the error message it is saying the geometry is no longer available. What does that mean? Anything to do with the fact that the pieces being welded together are custom CC parts? If that is the issue is there a remedy for it?

Using Inventor 2012, up to date on patches, realistic style (which I could use two days ago) is no longer selectable. Also when I go to the Style and Standard Editor, the Realist Appearance section has the warning triangle with the message, "Autodesk Material Library is not available".

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a FG assembly that shows errors. The parts referenced no longer exist, but it still tells me there are errors on the sketches. Since the parts no longer exist in the assembly, or anywhere for that matter, how can I get rid of this error? I have tried making parts and naming them the same, which it allows me to do, but no luck in resolving the error. I can include the assembly but it is 63MB compressed and am running 2011.

I'm running 2012, and once in a while while in an assembly, I can no longer select the part in the display (alike to selecting the part in the browser) and instead can only select faces of parts. I think I might be hitting something when I right click, though I'm unsure. How to reverse it?
