been building some palettes recently and the ability to change layers colours etc of items in palettes has been there and I have used it without issue. Today I can't change any properties of tools/blocks in any palettes. Checked the read status of drives directories etc all open...restarted AutoCAD and machine etc

I have imported atc files which were created in standard AutoCAD 2010, the palettes (atc) files import without a glitch the tools contained on them work perfectly. However adding new items fails despite all files not being read only also if a add a new palette nice though AutoCAD ADT will create one it wont actually allow me to add anything to it...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can no longer open the Properties Palette when I double-click on something. Sometimes, I get the Quick Properties Box, instead -- which was already turned off. I've triple checked that the QP is off, made sure no tool tips or the like are on, and I've rebooted the computer, but I can't get rid of the thing.
The main Properties Palette still opens up when I use CTRL-1, if I type "properties" at the command prompt, and if I right-click and select "Properties" from the short-cut menu. Sounds great -- except when I double-click something out of habit and can't jump into the palette and keep going. Instead I have to clear out of whatever pops up on my screen and open the PP 'manually'.
I've gone in to the CUI and dragged "Properties" in to the double-click function, but...nada.
All of a sudden, though I've change nothing, my line properties are messed up, here are some of the issues
1) My line type no longer works (via layers or directly)
2) My text section within line properties no longer shows up in order to access 'text overide'
3) I can no longer change the line color.
Due to circumstances beyond my control the directory path that my tool palettes are mapped to needs to be changed.
From: T:Toolpalettesetc...
To: X:Toolpalettesetc...
I have hundreds of blocks in the tool palettes that are looking for their source file on the "T" drive.
My brain says "Find / Replace T: with X: " using Notepad in all of the ATC files.
Is there a better method to tell those blocks to look on the "X" drive?
I'm attempting to change the descriptions of items in my drawing that say S/40 to S/80. It's too time consuming to individually change every description. Is there a way to change them all at once? Or maybe point to a database for the description?

Any way to change one whole color palette to another color palette without having to go change each individual color. What i have is a color chart set up with one color palettes colors set up, and i need to change this whole chart over to another color palette. I have read where you can go in and use the replace wizard for color model or palette, but when i go to choose the palette to replace it already has a set selection of palettes to choose from. How to choose other palettes from my computer.

I am hoping to link text items between pages and items in the drawing such as elevations?
So, ideally, I would have a front page to my drawing set, and this would have a 'Contents' type table on it, with the title name of each drawing in one column, then the drawing number in the next column. This is the tricky bit, someone must know: If i was to change the name / number of any item in this table, could it change also (linked to) the following items:
Drawing title (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Drawing number (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Elevation call-out (on the plan view)
And possibly:
Excel reference cell
Drawing layout tab title (this might be pushing it!!)
Perhaps this could be done by linking to an external Excel spreadsheet with these titles modified in there? I'm not sure. This would be ideal as typing into excel is a lot easier than the triple click text modify method required currently.
I waste a lot of time renaming and updating sheet names / titles / numbers. Are there standard templates for drawing sets that may have this built in available anywhere that I could try?
Couple days ago something crashed in autoCAD, and now when i select more lines or objects - i cant change colour in properties:
1) If i select one line --- still in properties is showing By Layer (colour)
2) If i select more line --- this window where was By layer --- is not active anymore and i cant cahenge anything.
I made 2 pictures - to understand better.
Normally I could use properties to change color's. Now the color "box" stays grey. Also in old drawings where it used to work it does not work anymore.Doc1.jpg

I give in my parameters and wich parameter I put in first comes on top of the properties list. If I delete the parameter that is first on the list and I put it in again it joins the list at the botom.
Now I want to control the sequence of the properties window so I can have it for al blocks the same. that makes it easier to use.
Like in the picture that you can find in the attachment. I want to put elements on top of the list so I can choose The elements (with visibility) first and then I want to put in the width and height.
How to select entity filter by sketch name dan properties using VB or VBA.
for example I have 2 shape : Rectangular and Circle with different properties.
Sometimes I want to select rec and make it become construction and circle still in normal line and Sometimes I want to select circle and make it become construction and rectangular still in normal line.
I cannot change the color of any object in any drawing file from the properties manager or color command. I can change the color through the layer manager by assigning a new color to that layer, but cannot override the ByLayer and ByBlock settings with the object properties. The color drop down is simply grayed out. I am using Autocad lt 2006.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have about forty maps created in DP6. Each of these has numerous pieces of text within it. These include title, map number, descriptive notes, individual letters such as A B C, scales, map symbols etc etc. These are currently all in Arial with some parts being bolded.
My question is:
In any one map can I select all the text within that map and change the character of the font? Ie can I grab all the text and change it from arial to a serif font? Or change all the text to a different colour?
I hope it can be done. I have done a bit of experimenting but have not found a way yet.

As I recall, you used to be able to change the artboard size when you first hit shift + O. There was a window for it at the top of the screen. Now,..for some reason that option is not there. It only gives me the ability to change the x and y coordinates. I have to double click the artboard tool to change the size of the artboard(s). How do I get back that ability?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI must have hit some combination of keys which altered my interface because Autocad 2013 is acting slighly differently. I can no longer pick Dtext and change its contents directly but must go into the properties tab and change the text through the properties window. When I pick an object my layers scroll windo no longer identifies the objects layer. And when I right click an object I no longer have access to the same set of command that I used to. For example I used to be able to right click an XREF and have the command xclip available but that and other specific commands are no longer available. I am on a deadline and am not able to figure out what is causing this sudden unexpected change in the interface.
