Whether I used the flyout on the ribbon, the CTRL+1 command, or right click on properties in the menu of a selected item, the properties window does not appear. I tried both repairing and reinstalling AutoCAD and neither worked for me.
View 9 RepliesI have installed the two service packs hoping to fix this issue. There appears to be a limit to the quantity of items that can be selected if trying to change a property using a pulldown menu. For example, if I select all items in a drawing (say 25,000 items, didn't test the limit), using (CTRL+A) or with mouse, and all items are not the same color, the OBJECT COLOR menu should be blank (have not value) because there is not only one color for the objects. Same would be true of the Layer menu if all objects are not on the same layer. This does not happen, the current Color or Layer are shown in the menu's. WIth the objects selected, changing the color (say from red to green) has no effect. Same is true if trying to assign all selected items to a specific layer. WIth less items selected (didn't test the limit), things work as expected.
I tried to see if the problem was with the menu, so I used the command line commands. Change, Property, Color, with all items selected works fine. Is there a bug with 2011 LT re this? I didn't have this issue using ACAD LT 2008 previously.
I've recently installed AutoCAD 2014 and am working to get it compatible with my company's internet standards.
There are some features that are not cool with our IT & Security to have enabled in our office.
I'd like to remove these 3 items from the upper right menu. (see attached image).

we would like to have a generic wall (outline only) that the width can be changed per wall for layout purposes, then the walls will be selected & changed later to an actual wall with known materials.
i having a fully working ribbon in ACAD2013. it is a registered dll that is originally coded in vb.net.
unfortunatley the functionality is only visible at the drafting & annotation workspace but is desperatly needed in classic workspace mode.
for hours i am trying to find a way to make my functionality working in classic workspace too.
is it possible to extend the classic workspace in acad2013 with my functions? if so, how, or where can i get more detailed information to solve my task.
as the subject states, at some point (I believe after uninstalling autodesk 360), our properties tool pallete will not populate info for the selected object. is there a fix other than re-installing from scratch? The installation fixer didn't work, and I've had to re-install twice now for other issues with the software, so it's getting very costly/time consuming to just re-install for these problems.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI must have hit some combination of keys which altered my interface because Autocad 2013 is acting slighly differently. I can no longer pick Dtext and change its contents directly but must go into the properties tab and change the text through the properties window. When I pick an object my layers scroll windo no longer identifies the objects layer. And when I right click an object I no longer have access to the same set of command that I used to. For example I used to be able to right click an XREF and have the command xclip available but that and other specific commands are no longer available. I am on a deadline and am not able to figure out what is causing this sudden unexpected change in the interface.

We will alter the Arch Base CAD file layer colors to a muted color for use as our backgorounds. We would sort the Layers by color, so that we could group them together to one base color, so basically layer colors 10-19 would then become 19, 20-29 would be 29, layer colors 30-39 would be 39, etc... If the colors were one of the 9 Base Colors (Red, Yellow, Green...) Red is effectivly the same as color as 10, so then we would make it 19, etc...
In 2007, even thought the sorting was by layer color, the layers rows would remain in the same location until we applied the changes. But in 2013, if we sort by color then alter the color, the layer row will automatically be re-sorted to its proper position in comparison to all other colors. OK I get that, but, if we are altering 40, 50, 60 layer colors, that auto re-sorting is annoying, because then we need to rescroll to our last location to continue.
So, is there a way to turn off the re-sort until we APPLY the colors.
When i select a tool trough marking menu it loses focus when marking menu disapears, focus is then set back to inventor. We have 3 PC's with inventor here, but only i have this problem. Just started doing this today, i have restarted didnt work, and i have tried the old 2012 version wich works fine...

I recently upgraded from LT2013 to LT2014. I never had any issues with 2013, but now seem to be battling with 2014. My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.
When selecting an object and then clicking the properties menu, the properties of the selected object are not displayed, but instead the properties of the selected layer are shown.
In the attached screenshot:
1) My active layer is "AM_VIEWS".
2) The layer of the object that is selected is "MEDIUM".
3) The properties dialog box shows the properties of my active layer and not the selected object.
I am therefore unable to override any settings of the selected object and manually change settings e.g. Linetype, Linetype scale etc.
How do I add custom menu items to the main menu in Illustrator?
I would like to build my own menu with scripts that I use alot. This is a powerful feature that I use alot in other programs, but I have not seen any examples of this in illustrator.
I had my ACAD window up and another window up at the same time. I thought I was in the other window and pushed some sort of CTRL+(something) command but it enabled in ACAD since it was my active window. Well, I don't know what I pressed but now when I have something selected (with no command running) and try to pan to select additional items, the panning results in deselecting everything I had previously selected.
As you imagine this is quite annoying... I tried searching for something but the only thing I found was the command "pickadd". I tried the different settings for this and none worked. I can not remember what CTRL+ command I pressed... When the window popped up in ACAD, I just closed out of it real quick without (or at least I thought without) clicking anything.
been building some palettes recently and the ability to change layers colours etc of items in palettes has been there and I have used it without issue. Today I can't change any properties of tools/blocks in any palettes. Checked the read status of drives directories etc all open...restarted AutoCAD and machine etc

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am updating a user to ACADM 2010 from R14. His actual R14 menu was customized so that the menu bar shows 'File' 'Drawings', 'Options', 'Edit', 'View', etc. from left to right. So far I have been able to get the 'Drawings' and 'Options' added to the classic 2010 menu.
However, the 'Drawings' and 'Options' show clear the right of 'Help' (see attachment). I need to get them moved over to a position between 'File' and 'Edit'.
These are drop downs with 5 to 6 levels. Having them on the right makes them look very messy because the cross back and forth.
I am wondering if it is possible to have pulldown menus items be brought in on the layer that they were created on versus the layer that your template has current. I created pull down menus and (not thinking ahead) put them all on layer 0. They come in with all the attributes they were created with, but come in on the current layer. Can I change that?

Trying to setup my machine at home to match my machine at work. To clear things up, I'm running ACA 2009 on both machines, both are running XP Professional, although I'm running XP Professional at home through VMWare Fusion 4 on my MacBook Pro and I really doubt that could cause these issues since a coworker is having these issues at work on a PC.
First of all when I startup ACA 2009 almost everything is missing! When I go to profiles and load the imperial profile I get the wonderful ribbon, which I immediately use RIBBONCLOSE to turn off but then I don't have any file menus. I have the large A in the upper left corner but it only has File, Edit, and Exit I believe. So I used MENULOAD to get the ACAD.cui back up and then reinserted the install CD to add EXPRESSTOOLS back (...why aren't this included to start....that's for another time).
So now I have a something pretty close to my work machine after moving some properties, xref, and tool palettes around. I don't really use any buttons so it is a pretty minimalist desktop. Now down to the real question...
Where did the Project Browser and Style Managers disappear to? I know, I know, ending in a preposition...I can't think anymore today and Autodesk you are responsible. Is it just me or does Autodesk seem to be hiding more and more from us with each release every year? I can type ProjectBrowser into the command line and it will appear but it isn't under the File menu and more and I honestly couldn't find the Style Manager command prompt so I can't tell you if that works.
How do I get these two items to reappear, neither of the two buttons existing either in the standard ACAD.cui configuration next to Tool Palette, etc
Also, why don't the profiles work anymore? If I save it under profiles and reload it the next time everything is messed up nothing happens, and yes the shortcut I use to start ACA references that profile.
I wish to have a lisp than enable to do automatic offset base on some selection of lines ,circles or polylines object as shown in attachment.

Upon dragging a clip from the library and onto the timeline, is there anyway of knowing which clips have been used already from the library view? In other words, I'd love to see some type of indicator or "check" mark that would allow me to know exactly which clips in the library view are already part of my timeline. Sometimes, there are clips that are sitting in the library that have not been included in my final production.

I am trying to get back some of my work that was "lost" when a crash accured. I had 16 blocks (all the same) inserted into my map at the correct locations. I recovered the drawing but noticed that the blocks weren't displaying. I conducted a quick select for the layer which they're on; it stated 16 items were selected (but they are not displaying). While they are still "selected" I checked the properties & it stated all the correct information (quantity, block name, color, layer, scale, etc...). I made sure all layers associated with the block were not frozen. So it's acting as though they're still in the drawing, but aren't displaying...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using CS4 for Mac. My tools and window panels were missing on the side. I placed them back in but noticed something odd happened under the Image tab in the menu bar. Normally I can select from the color modes under Image to change RGB photos to CMYK. For some reason, the CMYK mode is now missing unless I manually select SHOW ALL MENU ITEMS at the bottom of Image - Mode tab. How do I fix it so that all the color modes appear when I go to Mode under the Image tab? This happens every time now when I open a new file. It doesn't seem to save when I quit out of the program. I couldn't find it in Photoshop preferences.

This is happening for all of my windows (Navigator, preferences, etc.) I have to close the program and re-open to fix.
Running Windows7 64-bit. 12 GB RAM with an ATI FirePro V8700 card with 1 GB on it as well. I have all of the latest drivers for the card (installed yesterday). This should be blazingly fast, and it's chugging along like my CS3 used to with 4 GB RAM. Are these issues with speed and the corruption of the menu items related?
