Couple days ago something crashed in autoCAD, and now when i select more lines or objects - i cant change colour in properties:
1) If i select one line --- still in properties is showing By Layer (colour)
2) If i select more line --- this window where was By layer --- is not active anymore and i cant cahenge anything.
I made 2 pictures - to understand better.
I'm using CAD 2009. I've inserted a Bitmap image (a company logo) and I want to insert text with the same colour as the logo.
Can I sample the colour in the logo and apply it to the text? NB - I really don't want to go through all the colour options in CAD to find the nearest match.
I want to do something like the Microsoft Paint 'Pick Color' option.
How do I see the object selected change colour dynamically as I adjust the colour sliders?
It seems the object only changes colour when I release the slider. But I want to see it dynamically change, so I can find the colour that works best without "hit or miss" - "trial and error" behaviour.
Yes... I'm aware some of you spend hours in colour programs creating a palette to work with. Good for you.

My corel x5 opens with object properties are set with x no fill and on opening a new document and creating a shape, it has no fill.
My boss opens corel x5 and his object properties are set with x no fill but on opening a new document his properties change and a blue color shows in his fill, and of course when he creates a shape it is filled with this blue color.
Yes, he can just change the properties to x no fill each time he opens a new document but i wondered if we can change it and have it set at x no fill as the default ? I have tried everything I can think of but it seems to want to keep this blue color as the default.
Normally I could use properties to change color's. Now the color "box" stays grey. Also in old drawings where it used to work it does not work anymore.Doc1.jpg

View 0 Replies View Relatedreally simple this but I want to change the colour of some blocks. There are already some of this block in the drawing, but I am adding additional ones and want these to show up by changing the colour to red.
The blocks have been created in Layer 0, and inserted on another layer. When I highlight the blocks in question I can change the colour to Red, but even though the ribbon says otherwise they are still appearing in the original colour.
I have a dwg that I need to change the colour of certain areas, they are a mix of blocks and blocks with attributes, if I explode them all the attributes turn into text I have tried a few ways but apart from clicking on everything and doing it one by one I cant seem to do it, is there a quicker way,I have attached the dwg and everything outside of the magenta box needs to be grey while keeping the colour under the box. I give in my parameters and wich parameter I put in first comes on top of the properties list. If I delete the parameter that is first on the list and I put it in again it joins the list at the botom.
Now I want to control the sequence of the properties window so I can have it for al blocks the same. that makes it easier to use.
Like in the picture that you can find in the attachment. I want to put elements on top of the list so I can choose The elements (with visibility) first and then I want to put in the width and height.

Sometimes I want to select rec and make it become construction and circle still in normal line and Sometimes I want to select circle and make it become construction and rectangular still in normal line.
I cannot change the color of any object in any drawing file from the properties manager or color command. I can change the color through the layer manager by assigning a new color to that layer, but cannot override the ByLayer and ByBlock settings with the object properties. The color drop down is simply grayed out. I am using Autocad lt 2006.

I can no longer pick Dtext and change its contents directly but must go into the properties tab and change the text through the properties window. When I pick an object my layers scroll windo no longer identifies the objects layer. And when I right click an object I no longer have access to the same set of command that I used to. For example I used to be able to right click an XREF and have the command xclip available but that and other specific commands are no longer available. I am on a deadline and am not able to figure out what is causing this sudden unexpected change in the interface.

Im a user of Autocad 2012 but in the new array command of autocad 2012 , when a block is arrayed the entire array acts as one unit and all the objects in it move together . This can be changed by exploding the arrayed objects and i can move the objects individually but when this is done my block properties are lost...Auto cad renames this block and no longer identifies as my old block.
How can i retain my block properties whilst using the array command in autocad 2012!
been building some palettes recently and the ability to change layers colours etc of items in palettes has been there and I have used it without issue. Today I can't change any properties of tools/blocks in any palettes. Checked the read status of drives directories etc all open...restarted AutoCAD and machine etc
