At the current time I deploy DLLs by copying all files and a Lisp file that loads the DLL to each machine.
I am trying to find an elegant way of installing DLLs and updating them (Preferably free).
I am curious as to what other programmers are doing in regards to DLL deployment and updates.
I've re-installed Lightroom 1 after having my computer wiped clean. How to I put the information from my backup into my program?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have loads of dwgs made by a former employee at another site that have our company logo in the tile block. I need to replace the company logo with a new one. If it were not made from a dwt, I could change the .dwg file and just reinsert the block and let it redefine the block, done. But since all of the text in each drawing was input using a template, I cannot do this without losing all of that data. We are not permitted to explode the title block, delete the old logo & add a new one as the drawing format needs to remain as one entity. Is there a way to automatically update these dwgs without re-entering all of the title/revision block text on every drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to deploy Autocad LT 2012 via SCCM. The command I am using is "%~dp0AdminImagesetup.exe /W /Q /I %~dp0AdminImageLT2012 64bit.ini /language en-us". This works fine from CMD but when I try to deploy it after 6 seconds I get the error "Autocad LT 2012 exceeded the maximum allowed run time of 120 minute(s)".

I recently got the blue screen and I had to reinstall the OS (Windows 8). I had AutoCad Map 3D and AutoCad Civil 3D installed before the blue screen. I am trying to reinstall them and I keep getting multiple errors saying I am missing files.

I am wanting to build an installer to deploy some custom hatch patterns. Getting the hatch patterns onto disk is easy; however, I need to add this location as a support path (presumably via a registry entry) but the number of potential registry entries is huge given the combination of AutoCAD releases and verticals. The other option I had was to deploy the hatches to the same location as ACAD.PAT and search for this location during installation.
FYI - I plan to use Inno Setup but am not opposed to another installer.
I have recently updated my template files in Inventor (.idw, .ipt (standard/sheet metal), .iam (standard/weldment)).I added ilogic rules and custom iproperties to them.
I would like to update all my existing files to have these changes so they would be available when we copy design new parts.Is there a way automate the process of updating these files? I have about 4924 of them.
I don't understand why my parts aren't updating when I put a hole through them on the assembly drawing? I would expect the part (.ipt file) to get updated with a hole through it when I save the assembly drawing, however it doesn't. Do I have to change a default setting or does inventor no do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of deploying CorelDraw X5 to about 20 users in my company. The options I have available are to use Group Policy, SCCM 2007, or a couple of 3rd party programs. The specific users which this deployment will be advertised to will basically be using it as a CDR / EPS viewer only. In fact, we do not want them to be able to edit anything and save or export it.
Given the above, her are my two questions:
1. What are my options for deploying CorelDraw over the network? I saw the trial uses an installer, but have the image of the disc which I may use too. Neither have MSI files, though.
2. Are there any methods for controlling security of certain users / workstations on what the can or cannot do in CorelDraw? An administrative template for Group Policy would be ideal. We really just don't want them to be able to save - however - the file must be viewed, then sent by them so the idea of a Share set as Read Only wouldn't work.
I am trying to install Photoshop CS 3 and Illustrator CS 3 on a OS running Windows XP Service Pack 2. When I use the setup file, windows invariably gives me an error. It's a generic windows error that suggests you to send a report file to Microsoft - I'm running Windows on russian language and therefore not sure of the exact wording.
Both setups have been known to work before. Note that the windows installation is relatively new, so it's therefore possible I'm missing some system files.
Have just downloaded LR4 to C drive on windows 7 home premium, all photos and folders are there but, folders in library are shown as being in Y drive which was on a computer I have recently replaced, so when I put them into develop it says " missing folder, path does not exist" The images are on external F drive, Also I thought that LR4 would merge with existing LR2 so now I have two LR programs on my C drive, is this how it should be ?

However, I just upgrades from 3.6 to 4.0 and notice that the old files are still on my hard drive in the 3.6 folder. Do I need to keep these files or can I UNINSTALL LR 3.6?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am early in my learning curve on Lightroom. I understand that changes are not automatically applied to an image file but rather kept in a Lightroom database to preserve the original (non destructive). However, that is not a goal of mine. After making changes to a file or adding keywords, I want Lightroom to automatically update the actual files (in my case jpegs) so that I do not need to export them to be used elsewhere such as in a slideshows etc. I have found settings that imply the "metadata" is or can be updated, but I do not know if that is the "develop" changes I made or the keywords or if I need to do that every time before I close lightroom. Right now, I do an export of my entire folder of 20,000 images after each session where I make changes and then I use that export as a source for my automatic backup programs and supplies a continuous slideshow on another machine.
Maybe another way to say it is: after making changes and closing Lightroom, I want to be able to take an image from "My Pictures" folder (which contains all my images) and know it has the latest changes made and the latest keywords embedded. I do not want to have to export these files. first.
I was facing problems with X5 soon after installing it, it actually doesn't installs properly. Somehow i have to End Process of installation and though find X5 in my Start menu of Windows XP SP2. Well the actual problem started when i recently tried to publish PDF for one of my client's brochure of 17 pages, X5 closes all of a sudden and i have to restart the whole process. At times it creates a PDF which then has errors and Acrobat Reader don't read it.At times X5 even gives Error while saving files. Then have to click Save till it actually saves the file.I uninstalled X5 thinking, there could be some corrupted files and re-installed, but all in vain..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my projects in their own folders. When I start a new project, I copy an older project folder and paste to start a new project. I do this so i don't have to start modeling from scratch each time. The problem when i do this is i have to change the name and part number of each file to correspond to the new project number. This takes more time than i would like to spend doing it so is there a program that will let me do this in bulk? (change the part number of all the files through their iproperties) I typically have to use the design assistant and change the part number of each .ipt file one by one.

I downloaded PSPX4 from the Corel site where I bought it. It is in my Downloads folder instead of Program Files. Then I copied it to program files and it still isn't even in a folder called Corel. How do I get it where it should be? And, I cannot find all the folders then go with it, like tubes, brushes folders etc.
