With previous version of Photoshep Elements there was a command under file: Write tags to images that was updating the Tags field in the files.
Where do I find the same in Photoshop Elements 11?
I tried Save Metadata but it does not works (and the files are NOT protected)
In PSE 11, if I first tag all the people in the picture and subsequently make updates to the picture - all the tags are not carried over to the updated photo. Is there a way I can make this happen automatically without having to retag everyone each time I modify or update a photo?

View 2 Replies View RelatedProcess of tagging my many thousands of family photographs within PSE5, I am dismayed to find that having taken the manual step of writing the tags to the files, that only some of them have indeed done so. Quite a few of my photo files are showing up in Windows Explorer with the tags I have given them safely in place - great. However, twice as many appear to not be tagged at all. What has happened and how I can rectify it? The prospect of having to tag them all again leaves me wanting to go and stick my head in a blender.
A second problem is that, inexplicably, PSE5 recently started creating duplicate photo files with a "edTMP" suffix - they recreate the exact same file with the exact same file size. The only difference is that, where tags have been saved to a photo, the "edTMP" version does not include the tags. So, I just delete these files, but with the number that PSE is creating, it is a very time consuming job.
I have upgraded to Photoshop 11. How do I transfer all the pictures along with tags/files?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera...
(I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.)
As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7.
3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.
I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't assign or use keywords. It does it on all albums. I made new albums and it did not work, even on the new albums. There was one album that did not have the problem, but when I tried to transfer an affected album's files to it, it developed the problem. I reset the preferences in both Organizer and Editor, and that did not work. It prevents me from moving files out of as well as into albums.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI made a door tag, tagged all 128 doors and during a check set noticed that the text in the tag is the wrong font. I opened the tag and changed the font, saved and regenerated the drawing. The font in the current door tags did not change. To be sure I changed the correct tag I added a new tag and the font is correct. Why do the current tags not update? Do I need to do something? I do not want to go back and redo all 128 door tags.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a rectangle whose length changes.The value of the paameter "Dist1" is this length field that I associate to the attribute value. Basically, echo length from Dist1 into the attrib value.
The problem is when I insert the block into the drawing the value is shown as "DIST1", even after regen.
Once I pull the grip point to a new length and regen it still shows "DIST1".
If I go into the ddedit and select the edit box (for multiline data field) the shown value will correct itself, but only one time.
If I change the length again, the dimension does not update.
It worked fine when I tested the block but is having issues days later.
I have a field in a block and all the FIELDEVAL variables are set as shown in the screenshot but the field doesn't update on REGEN - I have to issue the UPDATEFIELD command to update the field.
There was a previous thread started in March 2011 with the same problem - is this another unresolved bug? (No connection with Autodesk other than using the products in the real world)

I just converted from PSE 10 to PSE 11.
Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.
In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.
This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?
How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
I have a user that is creating frame work using custom members copied from the standard. We have edited the frame members to use the company's part numbers and description and everything works fine. The Parts List populates with the correct part number / stock number and description just fine. I have customized the Part List style to display the stock number if one is available so that it shows correctly.
The problem comes when changing the size of a frame member out. Frame Generator creates a new file for that member and the Parts List displays the correct Stock number but the description still shows the original size's description not the one associated to the new member's size.
I haven't tried it but I am sure that deleting the Parts List and reinserting might fix the problem but there are other lines in the Parts List that have Static overrides and the user would have to redo all that. Why does the PN/Stock Number update correctly but the Description does not?

Attached is my latest block that I'm working on. how to keep a field readable (horizontal) when rotated. What I need to do to update a field that is linked to an attribute when the attribute value is changed? The UPDATEFIELD command does not seem to work on it for me.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed?
I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?

Where is the lock up? Is it in the external hard drive settings? In the camera? In the files themselves?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwe write metadata to jpegs and Raw files- saving to Raw database not as sidecar .xmp files. We are no longer able to save the metadata to Raw files. There is no error message, the data writes like normal and the user who writes the metadata can see it but when you open in another computer the metadata fields are empty, however the jpegs do have the new metadata. Was there a setting change at some point? This has been going on for a couple months and I cannot find an answer anywhere. Again, we batch write to RAW+Jpeg, the jpeg files save the metadata but the Raw files look like the data saved but is not visible on any computer other thant he one that added the new metadata. This is occurring on multiple computers, both Mac and PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have loads of dwgs made by a former employee at another site that have our company logo in the tile block. I need to replace the company logo with a new one. If it were not made from a dwt, I could change the .dwg file and just reinsert the block and let it redefine the block, done. But since all of the text in each drawing was input using a template, I cannot do this without losing all of that data. We are not permitted to explode the title block, delete the old logo & add a new one as the drawing format needs to remain as one entity. Is there a way to automatically update these dwgs without re-entering all of the title/revision block text on every drawing?

After some fooling around with LR4, I went out and bought Martin Evenings PSLR4 'book', did some read and started looking for a photo to play with...
I discovered that all of the photos on my usb hard drive were either write protected or the image type was not supported-they're all .jpg. I had done some Copyright stuff on a few photos the day before...fooled around with import and export and some other exploring.
I have converted a large number of Canon and Nikon raw files to DNG using Adobe DNG Converter (version 8.2.0.94).
Using Lightroom 5.2 I wanted to change metadata in these master DNG files. I import the files into a catalog, select all, modify the metadata, then invoke the Metadata->Save Metadata to Files... For many (but not all) of the files I get the following message:
"Could not write metadata. Unknown file formats."
The DNG files reside on a Synology NAS server. If I copy them to a local disk I do not get the above error. But I would like to make metadata changes to the files on the NAS.
I do not have problems importing or viewing DNG files from the NAS. Why does LR 5 have problems writing DNG metadata to the NAS? How can I fix this?
