I shot two D3s last night and downloaded both cards. One the NEF files preview like normal and the other has NEF files that won't preview but open in Photoshop just fine.
When looking at Canon RAW files (.CR2) I can see the previews fine in Preview. Not the same for RX100 arw files. I can see the thumbnails ,
However preview window shows an icon with "exec" in it. Also, adjustments made in Camera Raw do not show in the thumbnails as with other my Canon 5D II raw files.
After an external backup drive had its partition deleted we used recovery software to get as many files back as possible. It sorted the files by types but gave them all numbers for names. Using bridge to preview the illustrator files, most show a thumbnail, some just a small illustrator icon. When I try to open the files, some open no problems.
Some of the files are collections of vector art (multiple clipart in one file). In the preview that Bridge shows, the file is complete and all art is there. When I try to open some of these files, I get error messages like:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand. ##.####.## %##.####.####.###.....etc."
And when I click "OK" the file is either missing some of the artwork or it is completely blank. How does the preview show the complete file and when opened it's either missing elements or blank?
I am an experienced cs5 user and just installed cs6. When I select an image in Bridge, I just get an icon in the preview box and the file number. I have never seen this in cs5.
I have a question does bridge cs3 need cache (drive space) to preview a photo or to see my photo with the slideshow feature ? i mean does bridge need to render and store the photos in the database to let me see in the slideshow or browsing i don't talk about thumbs or does it on the fly?
The crashes always occur while editing a photo in the Camera Raw editor in Bridge (most of the time they are JPG files, yes you can edit JPGS in the Adobe Camera Raw editor) and then hit the "Open Image" button that will open the image in Photoshop. Often Bridge, Photoshop and InDesign all are "not responding" and have to be force quit.
Always when I'm editing a photo in Photoshop that is on a server I get the " Could not create a preview because of a disk error message" which I have to hit the OK button to clear. I just tested this several times and I never get the disk error message when editing an image from my hard drive. I suspect there is a network communication problem.

I have just moved up to CS6 after many years of using Elements - so am coping fairly well with my new "toy" !
One thing has me a bit baffled:
I store my photographs in two formats: the original in .nef and the processed final version in .psd.
If I select "full screen preview" of a .psd file, in Bridge, it comes up full screen, but not at what I would consider to be best quality.
If I export a copy at 800 or 1280 quality in .jpg and view it in Windows Photo Viewer (or open the file in Photoshop itself) there is a distinct difference in picture quality compared to Bridge. The Bridge copy seems to have slightly muted colours and the sharpness is markedly less. I have two monitors so can compare them side-by-side, and have transposed them on the monitors with no difference.
In Elements, I can have the organiser on one monitor, if I highlight a thumbnail and hit F11 I get a full screen and full quality view on the other monitor.
Is this a "design feature" of Bridge/CS6 ? or have I missed something when setting CS6 up in the first place ?
Bridge CS6 has problems updating the previews of images that get edited. While creating preview from scratch is rather swift, updating previews takes about six minutes on a MacBook Pro retina with 16Gb RAM.After one minute the preview gets updated, but then the busy signal in the low left corner just keeps turning and turning for five more minutes. Why is this happening? Is Bridge still busy with those previews? Why? The preview has already been updated, why those extra five minutes of business?
2. Image deleting is painfully slow.
You type Command + Delete, and nothing is happening for five, six seconds.Only then the images get deleted. Has noticed these two hold-ups?
I just went back after writing and editing this post, and Bridge is still busy with the preview update. This is now 15 minutes after the image had been edited. The busy signal in the lower left corner just never turns off again.
It feels like Bridge has also problems working in the background. As soon as you open e.g. a browser to bridge the waiting for bridge, Bridge seems to keep the busy signal rotating, but not actually doing anything until you close the browser again. Which is why I just had a 15 minute wait for an image preview to finally update. The time spent in the browser did not "count".
I have loads of dwgs made by a former employee at another site that have our company logo in the tile block. I need to replace the company logo with a new one. If it were not made from a dwt, I could change the .dwg file and just reinsert the block and let it redefine the block, done. But since all of the text in each drawing was input using a template, I cannot do this without losing all of that data. We are not permitted to explode the title block, delete the old logo & add a new one as the drawing format needs to remain as one entity. Is there a way to automatically update these dwgs without re-entering all of the title/revision block text on every drawing?
I have updated to ACR 7.3, my Photoshop is version 13.1 x64. However, I still cannot read the RAW files from my Nikon D600 with the message to check if there is an update for my cameras raw files available.
Reinstalled Photoshop CS5 and updated again.Clicking a file starts Photoshop but does not open the file.If I click "new" to make a new file, nothing happens.
My Recent Files list not longer updates so that, when I start Revit from the Start menu, I can't specify the file to open at the same time that I start the program. Once Revit is open, the Recent Documents list, from the Application button, is correct. All other programs, including AutoCAD and Inventor, show up correctly in the Start menu.
I am early in my learning curve on Lightroom. I understand that changes are not automatically applied to an image file but rather kept in a Lightroom database to preserve the original (non destructive). However, that is not a goal of mine. After making changes to a file or adding keywords, I want Lightroom to automatically update the actual files (in my case jpegs) so that I do not need to export them to be used elsewhere such as in a slideshows etc. I have found settings that imply the "metadata" is or can be updated, but I do not know if that is the "develop" changes I made or the keywords or if I need to do that every time before I close lightroom. Right now, I do an export of my entire folder of 20,000 images after each session where I make changes and then I use that export as a source for my automatic backup programs and supplies a continuous slideshow on another machine.
Maybe another way to say it is: after making changes and closing Lightroom, I want to be able to take an image from "My Pictures" folder (which contains all my images) and know it has the latest changes made and the latest keywords embedded. I do not want to have to export these files. first.
Windows cannot find C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Photoshop.exe
I installed Photoshop CS6 Upgrade (64bit and 32Bit) to my PC which ran CS5 Extended. When I deleted CS5, Bridge stopped opening files, whether I double clicked on the file or did Open with: I get the same error message.
just upgraded from CS5 to CS6 (originally had CS3) now when trying to load images which were loaded in 2002 when using CS3 I get an error message 'windows cannot find C:Program files(x86)Adobe PhotoshopCS3Photoshop.exe Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again' I assume that there is an association with a file that no longer exists how can I change this?
When I click on a file in Bridge to view within Bridge the file Opens in Photoshop. This has only just started to happen and is a real annoyance....how do I revert to only opening in Photoshop with a double click
We have several options in Bridge for opening files ... we can always open in the RAW editor ...BUT if we simply want to OPEN directly to CS4 > when we right click to OPEN the image >it goes directly to our EMAIL ? Can not find a spot in PREFERENCES to change this function ?
Am using CS5 and Windows 7. Whenever I drag or use the Move command in Bridge to move a file from one folder to another I get the most feared message "Adobe Bridge has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working. Windows will close ...you know the rest". I should also say the files are in fact moved, and I am able to relaunch Bridge immediately.
Sometime in the past few days my files that have been made with Fireworks will not show up when I use Bridge. They used to show up just fine so I don't know why they suddenly won't show up now. how to fix this so they will show up like they used to?
CR2 files ,I can't see CR2 files in adobe bridge when I open Adobe Photoshop cs5- help- about plugins- no camera raw plugins. When i go Edit- preference and click on camera raw shows message that Adobe camera raw plugin cannot be found
I am using CS4 Bridge 3.0.0.0.464 When I double click on a JPG file it opens in Photoshop. I prefer to edit my JPG files with Bridge camera RAW. At present, I have to right-click and choose 'open in camera RAW'. Is there a workaround for this?
