Photoshop :: Why Does Bridge Not Show Preview
Dec 28, 2012I am an experienced cs5 user and just installed cs6. When I select an image in Bridge, I just get an icon in the preview box and the file number. I have never seen this in cs5.

Photoshop :: RX100 ARW Files Not Visible In Preview Bridge CS6?
Oct 7, 2012When looking at Canon RAW files (.CR2) I can see the previews fine in Preview. Not the same for RX100 arw files. I can see the thumbnails ,
 However preview window shows an icon with "exec" in it. Also, adjustments made in Camera Raw do not show in the thumbnails as with other my Canon 5D II raw files.
Photoshop :: Bridge CS6 Could Not Build Preview Because Of Disk Error - Mac 10.8.2?
Jan 16, 2013The crashes always occur while editing a photo in the Camera Raw editor in Bridge (most of the time they are JPG files, yes you can edit JPGS in the Adobe Camera Raw editor) and then hit the "Open Image" button that will open the image in Photoshop. Often Bridge, Photoshop and InDesign all are "not responding" and have to be force quit.
Always when I'm editing a photo in Photoshop that is on a server I get the " Could not create a preview because of a disk error message" which I have to hit the OK button to clear. I just tested this several times and I never get the disk error message when editing an image from my hard drive. I suspect there is a network communication problem.

Photoshop :: Reduced Quality In Full Screen Preview In CS6 Bridge
May 18, 2012I have just moved up to CS6 after many years of using Elements - so am coping fairly well with my new "toy" !
One thing has me a bit baffled:
I store my photographs in two formats: the original in .nef and the processed final version in .psd.
If I select "full screen preview" of a .psd file, in Bridge, it comes up full screen, but not at what I would consider to be best quality.
If I export a copy at 800 or 1280 quality in .jpg and view it in Windows Photo Viewer (or open the file in Photoshop itself) there is a distinct difference in picture quality compared to Bridge. The Bridge copy seems to have slightly muted colours and the sharpness is markedly less. I have two monitors so can compare them side-by-side, and have transposed them on the monitors with no difference.
In Elements, I can have the organiser on one monitor, if I highlight a thumbnail and hit F11 I get a full screen and full quality view on the other monitor.
Is this a "design feature" of Bridge/CS6 ? or have I missed something when setting CS6 up in the first place ?

Bridge CS6 has problems updating the previews of images that get edited.While creating preview from scratch is rather swift, updating previews takes about six minutes on a MacBook Pro retina with 16Gb RAM.After one minute the preview gets updated, but then the busy signal in the low left corner just keeps turning and turning for five more minutes.Why is this happening? Is Bridge still busy with those previews? Why? The preview has already been updated, why those extra five minutes of business?

2. Image deleting is painfully slow.
You type Command + Delete, and nothing is happening for five, six seconds.Only then the images get deleted. Has noticed these two hold-ups?
I just went back after writing and editing this post, and Bridge is still busy with the preview update. This is now 15 minutes after the image had been edited. The busy signal in the lower left corner just never turns off again.

It feels like Bridge has also problems working in the background. As soon as you open e.g. a browser to bridge the waiting for bridge, Bridge seems to keep the busy signal rotating, but not actually doing anything until you close the browser again. Which is why I just had a 15 minute wait for an image preview to finally update. The time spent in the browser did not "count".
Illustrator :: Bridge Shows Complete Preview But Files Open Blank Or Missing Elements

After an external backup drive had its partition deleted we used recovery software to get as many files back as possible. It sorted the files by types but gave them all numbers for names. Using bridge to preview the illustrator files, most show a thumbnail, some just a small illustrator icon. When I try to open the files, some open no problems.

Some of the files are collections of vector art (multiple clipart in one file). In the preview that Bridge shows, the file is complete and all art is there. When I try to open some of these files, I get error messages like:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand.
##.####.##Â Â
%##.####.####.###.....etc."
And when I click "OK" the file is either missing some of the artwork or it is completely blank. How does the preview show the complete file and when opened it's either missing elements or blank?

Jul 9, 2012After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.

With most standard filters, one can either uncheck a [ ] Preview box, and/or click the mouse button down on the image to temporarily show what the image is like without the effect.Yes, I know I can turn the Stylization down to 0.1 and see how a very minimal amount of the effect can be applied. And I can look at the original image in Photoshop proper, but of course that can't be zoomed while the Oil Paint filter is active.

Also, the zooming / panning seems kind of stiffly implemented.In summary, the more or less standard and expected filter features I'd like to see added to this (new class of) GPU-accelerated filters are:Preview/No Preview capability. It doesn't have to update Photoshop, just the preview display in the filter itself. I suggest a [ ] Preview checkbox and/or an on-mouse-click temporary effect disable.Â
Modal click and drag Zooming vs. Panning - i.e., based on a Zoom or Pan function selected (e.g., via an icon along the left) vs. having to hold modifier keys down. I personally would want it set to Zoom by default, not Pan. Since the filter has scroll bars (a Good Thing), I would have thought Zoom would have been a better default as it is. I have implemented these things in my own GPU-accelerated plug-ins, so I know that all the infrastructure Adobe needs to support them is already in there. These changes are controls only and should be trivial to implement.

Jun 2, 2013I recently bought a Nikon D7100. I took some test shots and imported the images to Lightroom 4.4, then generated 1:1 previews for all the images.

Previews zoomed to 1:1 in Library Mode are noticeably soft. The image below is a screen shot of the Library preview:
Moving to Develop View produces a higher-resolution 1:1 preview. The image below is a screen shot of the Develop preview:
Look at the bricks and window screens to see the difference.

This difference occurs immediately after import (with a User Preset applied during import). Once any Develop work is done, the Library preview updates and displays at full resolution.

This problem makes doing initial editing/selection of images time consuming, because I can't determine the sharpness/quality of imported images until I've done some kind of Develop adjustment on each image.

Mar 29, 2014I am using MacBook (late 2008) OS X 10.9.2 and recently upgraded to Lightroom 5.3 from Lightroom 4. After a while, some photo started to show exclamation mark at the right hand corner of the photo (*.CR2 raw files in NAS) in grid view. When I click on the exclamation mark, it shows a dialog with following message; "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo". So, I moved previews.lrdata, which is about 9GB, to the trash and restarted the Lightroom 5, expecting Lightroom 5 to create a new previews.lrdata. However, it won't create any preview at all.

Lightroom :: Can't Jump Back From Publish Service Folder Preview To Different Folder Preview In Grid Mode
Oct 7, 2013Just downloaded LR 5 and noticed that I cannot jump back from a Publish Service folder preview to a different folder preview in grid mode. The only way to view photos in another folder is to restart LR 5. This only happens when I am viewing photos in a Publish Service such as Flickr.

Illustrator :: Font Preview In CS5 - Or Font Preview Plugin Available?
Jan 10, 2011I'm wondering if there is a Font Preview plugin available that will do what Illustrator SHOULD HAVE done for many years - which is to actually allow you to toggle through your font list and display the text you entered in the fonts you are clicking through - - kind of like what CorelDraw has had for the last 15 years.

Imagine that... being able to review text in a selected font to facillitate the selection of an appropriate visual reference for logos, etc. Earth-shaking, I know.it seems there would be an Illustrator plugin by now that would do this???

Sep 23, 2008I watched the CS4 introductory webcast this morning, and I gathered from it that you don't get Bridge anymore when you buy only one application, like Photoshop.
Can someone shed some light on that? I'm probably wrong on this. When the matter was raised in the webcast, there was a slight, but noisy, car collision in the street here, so I may have missed the context.

I'll give the symptoms and maybe someone can point me in the right direction for repair.My system: Vista Ultimate, Duo CPU, 1.5 & 1.5 GHz, 4G RamBridge v. 2.1.1.9CS3 v. 10.0.1 1. It crashes on a fairly regular basis.2. When an image view has been rotated , (say from landscape to portrait) many times when I go back to Bridge (after closing and restarting) images do not view as originally rotated. But, when I go to rotate them again,they over-rotate. In other words they were in the correct view (portrait) just did not appear that way.3. Many times, after editing an image, the little symbol that indicates that settings were changed, do not appear. These are just examples. Would it be helpful to uninstall and install again?
