Photoshop :: No More Bridge?
Sep 23, 2008
I watched the CS4 introductory webcast this morning, and I gathered from it that you don't get Bridge anymore when you buy only one application, like Photoshop.
Can someone shed some light on that? I'm probably wrong on this. When the matter was raised in the webcast, there was a slight, but noisy, car collision in the street here, so I may have missed the context.

purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop.
Â
While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash...
Â
In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...

After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.

Whenever I try to open the Brushes panel, the Bridge window pops up. I know that Bridge is a media manager, so I'm not sure why is it opening. I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?

It seems that my Bridge has started unstably. I'll give the symptoms and maybe someone can point me in the right direction for repair. My system: Vista Ultimate, Duo CPU, 1.5 & 1.5 GHz, 4G RamBridge v. 2.1.1.9CS3 v. 10.0.1 1. It crashes on a fairly regular basis.2. When an image view has been rotated , (say from landscape to portrait) many times when I go back to Bridge (after closing and restarting) images do not view as originally rotated. But, when I go to rotate them again, they over-rotate. In other words they were in the correct view (portrait) just did not appear that way.3. Many times, after editing an image, the little symbol that indicates that settings were changed, do not appear. These are just examples. Would it be helpful to uninstall and install again?

I am new to Photoshop CS2 having upgraded from 7. My problem is organization. I use photos for everyday work, ( I am a landscape designer), I have portfolio pictures, family pics and creative, personal photos. I would love if someone could direct me to info or a book that deals with using the bridge as an organization tool as I am really having trouble finding a good method for organization so that I can actually find my pics!

Before I installed CS6, I removed CS6 Beta and my copy of CS5 using tools provided by Adobe. When I run Bridge, I notice that for each of the Open With apps shown, they are listed twice.
When I choose a JPEG or raw photo it opens with no problem, but when I open a PNG, I have to choose open with since my Mac will open it in PREVIEW. When I choose open with PS, it loads and opens a second Photoshop even though I have it open already.Â

I recently migrated all my programs from my imac to my new mac book pro. This included Photoshop CS5. For some reason, the Bridge portion of the program no longer works in my Mac Book Pro. I get a message saying portions of the application are missing and to do a reinstall of the program. I've done, re-installs and de-install/re-installs.

I'm using win7 with plenty of memory. I had PS CS and upgraded to a complete new version of cs6 extended. I loaded it and the ps program works fine. However the Bridge program will not start. I've tried both programs even from the exe file and nothing. It will not run.

I had PSCS6 and LR5 working fine together, but after buying and installing Adobe Premiere Elements, the Edit in option from LR5 doesn't work like before anymore : after the PSCS6 edit is finished, the PS menu saying "Save and return to LR" is missing. I get only the Save and return to Bridge option.
Â
I had hoped that installing both the Camera raw 8.2 and LR5.2 updates would have corrected the problem, but it didn't. What can I do to get the correct menu option back ? Is there anything in the preferences or in the ini file which I could change (working in Windows 7 64bits) ?  I never use Bridge and rarely use Premiere Elemnts and I find this behaviour very noyous. Although the edited tiff picture is correctly saved and seems appears in LR. Still getting back automatically to LR would be more aggreable, since both programs are supposed to work together and that was the main reason why I updated from CS5 to CS6.
Â
Is there any option that I could tweak to get back to the old and more correct behaviour ?

My pictures is shown with stronger contrast and saturation in bridge than the original PS file in PS. I'm trying to open the Suite Color Management in Bridge but it says that "Suite Color Management requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature". What should I do?

I know this has been discussed a lot on the forums and I have read all of those, but I am frustrated after 3 weeks of working on this. I bouht my wife Photoshop CS6 for xmas and loaded on our iMac running 10.8.2. She was running Elements 8. CS6 Bridge will not open. Get a message "operation can not be completed". It will also not open from inside Photoshop either. Following other posts, went into Library and deleted switchboard folder, plist files, and other listed files. Did an option start on CS6 and reset to factory, delete thunbnails. Performed PRAM and disk permissions repair. None of this has fixed the problem. The only thing that works is creating a new user account. Bridge opens fine in my test account.Â
