When editing, say crossing 4 of 6 lines to select for erasing, LT2014 used to hyphenate the lines selected to show which lines would be affected. It does not do that anymore. what I toggled and what command it takes to bring it back?
View 2 RepliesI have been using AutoCAD 2010 for a while now and then all of a sudden, I am unable to select multiple lines. The only way to select more than one line for a command is to hold down the shift button and then select more lines. I think someone was playing around with the computer and must have changed a setting?

The problem is that I am now stuck in the Last Site created. So commands like "QUICKEDITFEATUREELEVS" only see those feature lines in the last Site created. How can I switch to another site so I can quickly edit those feature lines?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a 6 mile highway project whose surface file is 85MB big. So, I created a Data Shortcut of this surface and used this for creating profiles. However, at some locations the corridors go below the surface(as per their original profile) which was not intended. So, I need to restrict the surface to follow the corridors but not go beyond it.
I have created feature lines from corridors and tried to add them as breaklines to the surface. But " error adding breakline" error pops up.
Is it because I am trying to add the breaklines to the mirror surface which I created from Data Shortcut ??
Will it be useful if I copy feature lines to original surface file and add these feature lines as breaklines in that file??

I've been away from Revit for awhile. Isn't there an easier way to edit lines in elevations without creating dozens of masking regions to hide model lines from walls, roofs etc.?I thought in older versions, (I'm currently on 2012), that you could just select lines to make them invisible.

Is there a simple way to delete these numbers without selecting and deleting each one? I happen to be using CS5 but this feature has not changed since AI was introduce, if I can remember right.
I know I should save multiple dash "styles", but even stroke profiles are saved for quick reuse. Why not dashed lines?
has something changed in 2011 controlling prompts to save pdfs when publishing from sheetset manager?? im using page overrides, which uses dwg to pdf.pc3 file. it publishes but no prompt for file name. i have checked the sheetset publish options and it is set to multiple & prompt for file name, however it still doesnt prompt and saves it in the folder nominated. where else is this controlled?

View 8 Replies View RelatedHatch is not showing up on my drawing anymore. I use hatch command, pick area, pattern, color, scale etc and then when I press enter or preview nothing happens. Hatch works on my layouts though but not in model view.
Before all that happened, AutoCAD crashed and stopped working so I had to force close it.
What do I do now? How can I make hatch work again?
I'm using AC 2010 mac version.
So I have been working on this assembly for quite a while and now Inventor 2013 doesn't let me edit my component on the fly from the assembly space like before. (the Edit button appears dim as shown below)
I am (unfortunately) running the soft on XP and it's running out of memory quite often. I was wondering if it was possible that Inventor blocks the user from using functions that could lead to a potential crash.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn my drawing, I inserted a raster image file. I converted it into a block so I can modify it and I scaled it like this:

I saved my drawing and I close AutoCAD, but when I open AutoCAD again the image shown on the drawing file is not the same image that I had inserted previously.

The image shown is one that I had inserted before the first one but I had erased it from the file because I had to crop it in photoshop to reinsert it again.
I used the purge command to purge the block, I used the image command and i detached the image.
But the image says "unreferenced" when I do the "image command" even though it has the right location and folder. I don't know what to do anymore.
In 2013 LT zoom to an object does not work anymore.

So, I really like the ability to have a pressure network pipe follow a surface but, what if I no longer want the pipe to follow the surface? Is there any way I can get rid of all the extra grips that are added to the pipe in the profile? The only way thing I've come up with is to delete the pipe and recreate it.

I created several Parts with the Shaft Generator, and from one moment to another it always says that it can't update the part file with the new shaft when I press Ok.

I have a file where there are mostly surfaces and gradings. But once again i ran into a similar problem - i cannot open the file anymore. It just stops loading and then Civil crashes.
Can try to open it and maybe use MAPCLEAN or AUDIT in hope it fixes anything?
Why do these things even keep happening, i do not understand at all.

Do autodesk have only 12 fonts on their machine? Why is the text style font name drop boxes so tiny? Makes it real time consuming to select a font when you have lots of fonts as I'd imagine most machines have.

The realistic views have been working the whole time before but now it is not working. I click on it, and it just switches back to shaded view. If I click on shadows, or reflections I get the following message.
"One or more visual effects in use are not supported by the current system graphics hardware. We strongly recommend running the Diagnostics check in applications option for detailed information.Would you like to run hardware Diagnostics now?"

Since AutoCAD 2013, I'm not able to use tracking when inserting block from tool palette. Example, I want to insert a door at 6 inches from a wall. I click the door from the tool palette, leave a tracking point at the wall corner, move the cursor in the right direction and type 6 follow by enter. The door is insert randomly in the drawing. It was working perfectly in previous release.
Actually I had to insert the door anywhere in the drawing and moving it at the right place and rotate it if required, it is very tedious.
I thought for certain that justification FIT option worked for Attribute definitions.

I can use "edit named selection set" button, and create selection sets, but my list just show blank list. if I re-install max on top of existing one (perhaps this can solve my problem) do I keep all my UI, macros, scripts as is, or I must install all plugs and macro again ?
With all of you fine teachers, I have the know-how to get the start and end values of a line.
Do you think there is a way to get a point returned that represents the true intersection of the two lines, without having to involke a user defined "getpoint" function using "intersect" osnap?
