AutoCAD Architecture :: XCLIP Causing Lines To Disappear (Within XCLIP Boundary)
Apr 20, 2011I've been using XCLIP for years. Never had an issue.
Today I installed 2012 and found that the ability to stretch and edit XCLIP boudaries had finally been added. SWEET!....wrong.
I was working merrily along when all of a sudden my screen blinked, refreshed, or something, and 80% of the lines within my XCLIP boundaries just disappeared.
I closed the drawing and reopened. Closed ACA and reopened. Rebooted and reopened. Gone.
If I delete the XCLIP, it all comes back. Apply a new XCLIP, gone again.
Open the drawing in ACA2011, still gone. EGADS!
Is this a totally new problem???
It literally took less than an hour after installing to find a problem in ACA 2012. My Autodesk woes continue.
Photoshop :: Using Selection Tool Make Image Disappear
Mar 29, 2013I am using PS CS6 13.0.1..When I use the selection tool, any selection tool, the image disappear.I tried to disable GPU but that did not work, nor did starting in safe mode without any plug-in.I find myself turning Photoshop On & Off several times until it is resolved. Sometime it may take even 15 times to turn on/off until resolved.

May 10, 2013The problem happens in different blocks created in Autocad 2009. I need to make blocks with many visibilities and, sometimes, only a few lines need to be turned invisible from a visibility state. Many times when I remove the visibility of a line from a single visibility state, the line erased on all the visibility states. I make my lines "all visible" and it's not there anymore.
The problem is probably in my block since it's doing the same problem on someone else's computer. If the problem is my block, is there a way to "uncorrupt" it?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contours Disappear After Editing Feature Line?

I am editing a feature line which is a driveway. I set the feature line to have a constant slope from one end to the other. I had to move the line and when I did the contours went away. I tried to just add grading to the feature line and it when through the steps I always take and acts like its there but I dont see it. The contours are set to 1' and 5' contours w/ design. The feature line that is added when creating a grading from the original feature line (that shows the base of the slope where the contours fit between or in other words it is the feature line that follows the existing/natural ground) is also gone.
Also on another feature line all I did was go into elevation editor and change an elevation and the contours dissapeared.

Dec 12, 2011I am currently drawing a map. It is going to be a detailed one. I wonder if i could make small town names disappear while zooming out and at the same time big city names emerge. And contrarily make disappear big city names while zooming in and emerge small town names. I want it to make similar with the application that google map uses. Can we do that with autocad?

GIMP :: Free Select Tool - Selection Points Disappear
Dec 2, 2012I choose the Free Select Tool and painstakingly click around the border of something to remove the background. Typically it's a car and I do hundreds of tiny free select points tracing around the car's outline. I make my way around the entire car and double-click to connect the last point with the first one. Then all the selection points disappear, I have no selection around the car, and I'm unhappy.
Here's what happened. Before I started working I inadvertently had done a "Select All". The Free Select Tool was inadvertently left in "Add" mode. GIMP did what it was supposed to do, it added the car outline selection to the "Select All" selection - with the result equal to "Select All" - and there goes all my selection points around the car.
You can end up in the same bad place when "Select None" has been done and you inadvertently left the Free Select Tool in "subtract" mode.

Nov 27, 2012How is it possible to have a part in an assembly and then remove it when it is not required?
I have a Skeletal assembly of a cabinet with hinges on the left hand side when facing the front. When a customer requires the hinges to be on the right hand side, I need to make the lock keep disappear from the Right hand side panel sub-assembly and make it appear in the Left hand panel sub-assembly.
At the moment, I have the lock keep, the BOM structure in the file is Normal, this is overidden in the assembly to being Reference for the first instance, the lock keep is fully constrained in both sub assemblies and both are in an array of only 1. I increase the value of the array from 1 to 2 and by a distance of zero(0), the newly added part would have a BOM structure of Normal, consequently it would then appear on the BOM. This method was something I last used when using IV2009, it was a method I used to control both visibility of parts in assembly drawings and on BOMs.
I'm now using 2013 and arraying a part with a overidden BOM structure of Reference makes the new part a reference part aswell even though the file itself is BOM structure of Normal.

Feb 16, 2012Architecture 2009 running on Windows 7. Dell Precision T5400 with a Quadro FX570 graphics card.
I have lately been having some issues with text in Architecture 2009. I first noticed that within Mtext, when you hit the "UPPERCASE" or "lowercase" buttons, the text disappears in the editor, and no changes are made. Not the end of the world, but not handy.
Then it stopped letting me type in Mtext boxes at all. The return key seemed to work, but nothing else. Then it started converting text typed into Mtext boxes into (I think) Chinese characters. Really not handy. At this point I decided to try to reinstall. First I tried a repair, then reinstalled over the existing installation, then uninstalled completely and reinstalled from the disk. I've also done a windows restore, though as this has slowly been falling apart, I'm not sure when I should restore back to.
I have Mtext basic functionality back, but the "UPPERCASE" and "lowercase" buttons still make the text disappear.
Not sure if it's related, but I also get a Fatal Error e06d7363h at 758bd36fh about 4 or 5 times a day. Usually it's associated with the open command (ctrl+o), but sometimes it just happens at random.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Xclip The Xref
Sep 16, 2012I have an xref that I am trying to xclip. Normal xclip works fine, but when I try to invert the clip (which I was I need), a light grey background shows up (in preview mode and on prints) around most of the boundary, and takes up most of the screen.
It also clips objects from other xrefs along the plane of the boundary, even though they're not actually within the boundary (they are visible in the drawing, but clipped in preview mode). I have purged and audited both drawing and xref.
AutoCad :: How To Retain XCLIP Boundary
Jan 2, 2014So I have a reference that has been xclipped. We have multiple drawings that need to be xclipped using the same boundary. It is a HUGE boundary and very complicated. It would take me at least half a day to recreate it (the time it took me in the first place). I copied the drawing and am trying to find a way to essentially explode the boundary in order to create a new polyline. I don't care about the reference, I just want the boundary.

Jan 14, 2013I find myself using Black Backgrounds often in illustrator. Bleeding a Black BG makes it impossible to see the art board boarder.
The solution to this has been for me to either place guild lines on these guide lines (silly really) and jarring. specially when you already have guide lines there.
Or to make a new layer, place a box on the board and give it a outline .5 stroke thinkness or so depending on the zoom because white on the black line thats above it screws up visually depending on the distance you zoom out from.
Or has Adobe given us a choose your colour option i don't know about? 50% Grey would be great. can see on white and black.

Oct 27, 2009I have been practicing using a older book(copyright 1990) and it has some decent exercises in it. I was able to do this one but it seems I can"t find the proper way to do this..First drawing a line a certain distance..ortho on,click the first point anywhere,move curser to the left and click again. that gives me a line at 180 degrees at what ever length..Line command again starting at the second point of the first line..after clicking that point,I type in @2.38<150 that gives me a line2.38 long at 150 degrees..now how do i make a third line relative to the second line so that the angle is 75 degrees and a certain length..the picture shows what I am trying to draw..using the polar cordinates you get an angle based off the UCS( which is set at world) when you try to draw the third line ..that makes the angle between line 2 an 3 not the angle that I want..To make the drawing,I rotated the ucs -30 degrees..But there has to be a better way than that..

However everytime after saving, and opening the file again, the curve breaks into many line segments, which is not what I want! I use the ARC command to draw a couple of lines, they look okay here. But after I saved it, and re-open it again, what previously appeared as curved lines changed in their appearance to polyline segments.
Photoshop :: Enlarge And Getting Unwanted Pixelating And White Boarder In GIF File?
Jun 13, 2013I'll admit it up front, I'm a way better photographer than a photoshop wizard. I'm attempting to take a gif file of my son's schools mascot, an indian chief, and make it large enough to be digitized & then embroidered onto his new Varsity Jacket. The gif is purple with a translucent background. When I attempt to place it, it gets a white pixelated boarder around the purple art work. Not sure if this is normal. My worry is that when I send it to the folks embroidering it, that they'll enlarge the photo & they'll also get this white nasty boarder & it will turn out awful.
So, I've got 2 problems, we want the Indian chief embroidered in white & it is purple now. When I enlarge the file in purple, it looks great to the 10 inch size file I'm placing it on. However, when I try to change it to white in the 10 inch size, it shows this rough pixelated looking boarder. In fact, no matter what size it is, it always shows this white boarder.
Is there a way to fix this white boarder thingy & also "digitize it into

Dec 14, 2013I'm making some retopology with a high-polygon model and a low polygon, using Polydraw, On surface.
I "picked" the low polygon model by mistake and all the vertices on the high polygon model are visible and I can't make them disappear, even reselect the high one again. I tried Select Vertices (with the 1 key) but it doesn't do anything.

Is that a bug? How do I make the vertices disappear?

Nov 7, 2013I have found that since installing the service pack for 2014, xclips in paper space have become blank, or, on occasion, 1 will show, but others won't. The invert still works, strangely enough.
