One of our domain users cannot access Autocad 2007LT as a domasin user in Windows 7. As soon as we make him temporary admin it allows him to use it. A pop up box appears asking far administration credentials before he can use autocad. We have tried giving read and write access to the autocad files that we think it links to but this has not worked.

We had to migrate from one domain to annother on our network. This meant that each user had to create a new profile.
Before we migrated I tried to back up the user data from the old user but once I am up an running agian all the AutoCad settings are no longer included. I understand you can export those while you are logged in and can see the macros etc. can you simply move the files that store that information (I can still access all the files from that user I just can't login as that user anymore)

Recently the user had crashed his system. So I had to role out a new system for this user, CS3 is part of the image, but Photoshop can not open PSD files unless I run as Administrator(s).
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are using .cuix file which gives access to tools in custom .arx file in AutoCAD 2012/2013. We load the menu using the .bundle mechanism and the plug-in - using button from the menu. If the user is Administrator (or executes AutoCAD as Administrator)Â the menu, toolbars and ribbons are loaded correctly and the user can load and unload the application (lisp function in .mnl file is used for that), but if the user is not an administrator either the menu, toolbars and ribbons are not correctly loaded or they are loaded, but the user can not load the application.
We have found that a probable cause for this behaviour is that AutoCAD tries to create/renew the .mnr file when first loading a .cuix file and since the user has no administrator rights this can't be done in the "C:Program FilesAutodeskApplicationPlugins" folder where the bundle is and AutoCAD creates the .mnr file in its own support folder ("C:Users<User>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 2012R18.2...Support") together with a copy of the .cuix file and changes the path for loading the .cuix file to this location. Since the .mnl file containing the function for loading/unloading is not copied with the .cuix file the application can not be loaded.
The user has to delete the created files under the support path of AutoCAD, unload the .cuix file and then reload it from the correct location to resolve the problem. Restarting AutoCAD leads to the same problem.
Is there a way to prevent this behavior other then running AutoCAD as administrator (that is not always an option)?
I have a users who cannot change parameter values for iLogic unless user is a local admin on the workstation. This machine has just been upgrade to Inventor 2013.

The employee is acting through screenshots. All worked well using 2009 Revit or Architecture on XP machines. However, we added new faster Windows 7 machines with 2012 products. The PCs are all 64 bit with 16g RAM and a 22mb internet connection.Â

I went into SAFE mode to see what would happen and the same action resulted. I went into SAFE mode because all security programs would be off.
When I change the setting to use the user manual online this is the error message. ( My Outpost Security Suite 7.1 Free is ON.)

I went to see what the default browser but it only shows "Reg_SZ" in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOThttpshellopencommand. I want to verify what my default browser is. Isn't that what GIMP will use as the browser? Why does GIMP use the NotePad program to display the user manual when I have the preferences set to local access (on my computer)? The name of the NotePad file is "gimp-concepts-usage".
I want to point the AutoBackup folder on each local machine, and not all at the same place. For that, I need the Variable that use MaxScript to take the WindowUser and replace it in the configuration.

I have a question regarding Vault. We are using Vault Collaboration 2012 and as of lately we have a user who live in a different county who is going work for us. We are 3 local users who sit locally and 1 user who going to connect remotely to us.

Prompts to repair permissions constantly appeared, even after permissions were changed. After a visit to the Apple store for a One to One session, it seems that the OS cannot provide this simple functionality (in windows I simply changed folder permissions and it all worked, access granted).

I have a NAS for backups, so buying another external HD I don't need is a waste of money. Surely there must be a simpler way for all users of our iMac to have access to the photo library. I thought it would be a simple folder permission issue.
Would using Lightroom instead of iPhoto to download and organize my photos and videos solve the problem or is the problem due to the way OS 10.9 works? Would Lightroom provide the same quick sharing functionality with links to Facebook and local email apps etc?
I upgraded to Illustrator CC and now I can't access my user defined swatch library. It's there, but not highlighted. How to access these, or import from CS6?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy (previously wonderful) local adjustment brush has apparently quit working. Whenever I attempt to make local adjustments - using either the standard presets or custom settings - all the adjustments made are applied to the entire image, not just locally. Density and flow are set to my typical values and Show Selected Mask Overlay shows the extent of the applied effect, but whatever adjustment I make is applied generally, over the entire photo, rather than to the selected adjustment area.Â

Since acdbmng.dll and acmng.dll are not in the GAC, the fact that I can install my ARX.net dll on any folder is because it will run on the same application domain as Autocad, where acdbmng.dll and acmng.dll are loaded at Autocad startup. Right?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a user who installed Map 3D 2011. We originally had some install issues, but a clean install and update to .NET framework 4.0 has seemed to finally be able to allow us to install the software. During installation the AV software was deactivated. User has full admin rights. Now when he double clicks the icon to launch the software he's receiving an error dialog box that is titled "Exception in acmgd.dll ARX Command". The only way he can get it to run correctly is to right click on the icon and select "Run As Administrator".Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter getting Vault installed on our server and successfully setting up users and connections, I used the Library Transfer Guide to move our Content Center (including custom) to the Vault. I then changed the Inventor Application Options -> Content Center -> Access Options to Autodesk Vault Server.
This seems to have worked, as I can Place from Content Center when in an assembly, and it is pulling standard content as well as our custom files properly from the vault. Â However, in the instructions that I used for the installlation, it was suggested to stick with a standard folder structure within the Vault, namely two Library Folders named 'Content Center Files' and 'Libraries' and also a regular folder named 'Designs'.
 I created those folders prior to transferring the library, as I thought they would be populated with the standard/custom content. This was not the case and I am curious when these folders come into play? *they are empty*
Also, today I will be attempting to 'Check In' a project to the Vault that I recently completed; does this usually maintain structural relationships between files?
Would you recommend using a single project structure in vault for two people? It seems, since we won't be working on the same project at the same time, having a single project would not be relavant to our situation..

The standard way to remove noise, i.e. background spots, is do spectrum analysis and remove those high-frenquency signal. Is photoshop image-> adjustment -> level a frequency analysis?
I recently installed Photoshop CS for a user. After installing, I ran the program without issue. When the user logged in and tried to run it the following error was displayed: Â Â Â Â "Current user account does not have privileges to perform product activiation. Run this application from a user account with administrative priveleges or contact your system administrator." We do not allow any users to run as administrators at the company I work for. We are willing to elevate permissions for users if a program references files that standard users do not typically have access to. We attempted giving full control to the Photoshop folder but that did not work. Has anyone run into this error and found where the permissions need to be changed?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've seen several similar threads with problems with Bridge, nothing recent with run issues with Photoshop CS6. I have installed most of the programs downloaded from the Cloud. Most run. So far, I've found Bridge, Encore and Indesign encounter a "Problem" upon opening and close with no further message or details. Dreamwever, Flash, Illustrator and Premiere run as far as I've tested.

From my user account Photoshop CS6 brings up a message about a locked scratch file and cannot run. I can start PS CS6 using Run As Admin and everything seems to run fine. Changing permissions on discs and on my user account still has PSÂ CS6 fail to start. I've read similar posts on earlier releases. I have tried purging the preferences, both manually and using the crtl+shift+alt start. I still cannot get PS CS6 to run from my user account.

Program itself starts nicely, but if I try to open a file or create a new file, cs4 crashes. This happens if I'm logged as user.
IF I start cs4 as administrator (or via "run as administrator"), program works ok.
Already updated drivers and updates cs4 to 11.01...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with the Nik Software Silver Efex Pro (SEP) plugin running extremely slowly, but only at certain times. It's been pretty good for the past few months, but it suddenly took a nose-dive a few days ago. It takes ages to load the presets and to process the image in Photoshop once I have made my selections in SEP. I just thought that as SEP is a direct plugin to CS6 Photoshop then perhaps it's something to do with the way Photoshop itself runs. I switched the running of Photoshop to 'Run as administrator' (just right click the program in the start menu and go to compatibility tab) and SEP now runs extremely fast. why running as Admin should make such a difference? Are there any problems in running in Admin mode?

I run Norton Internet Security, and thought that as I'm now OK in Admin mode it might be a virus-checker problem, and running in Admin mode was getting around the problem. I do have both versions of Photoshop (32 and 64 bit) included to 'allow' access in Norton.Here is my system config. My PC runs very well in all other respects.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to automate the process of scanning a bunch old public domain magazines. When I try to create an Action to automate the process of the following mouse clicks:

File > Import > WIA Support
Click START button on WIA Support screen
Choose which device I want to use [flatbed scanner] > Click OK
Choose Custom Settings > Click PREVIEW

the Action stops at the very first step above (File > Import > WIA Support).

Maybe Actions aren't the best way to go about automating this entire process. If there is a better way this can be done how do I go about it? I want the macro / Action to stop at the last step above because I often need to adjust the portion of the page that I actually want scanned so I need to do the final step manually (actually scanning the page once I'm satisfied with the preview).
Everything worked so well in CS5 Extended......

I have CS6 running on an SSD. Initially with CS6 Beta I found I had to run as Administrator. I eventually discovered how to run as a user by going into Preferences / Performance and setting my scratch disk to my hard drive.

now I have the CS6 release. I deleted CS6 Beta as instructed and followed directions for the install. CS6 works fine except for the bugs that I reported in the beta forum . My problem is now that Bridge insists on running as Administrator. If I try and run it as a user, it comes up and quits immediately. It doesn't make a wisp of difference where I set my Cache file, SSD or hard drive. I can even deal with that, however now I can't start Bridge from Photoshop! I click on File / Browse in Bridge and nothing happens. If I start Bridge then go to Photoshop and click on File / Browse in Bridge, still nothing happens. I have to manually switch to the Bridge window.
PhotoShop CS6 on Win7 starts only in administrator mode. Also InDesign CS6. I can't work with task list or direct job contact.
