I want to point the AutoBackup folder on each local machine, and not all at the same place. For that, I need the Variable that use MaxScript to take the WindowUser and replace it in the configuration.

I just added the materials libraries and maps from older versions of 3ds max 2011, since 2012 came with very few libraries. Is there any way to configure 3ds max so all student users can see these new paths correctly without having them to each go to customize, configure user paths? Can I make a change to each machine that it will already be done for any user that is on the machines. Windows 7 Pro OS.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having trouble w/ unresolved file names so I dinked around with the "Configure User Paths" dialogue. I made changes to all the entries so that backburner could see for net rendering. Boy i shouldnt have done that. Now My Mxp files are being saved in the specified project folders but all the subfolders are missing. I have gone back to the fore mentioned dialogue and changed all the paths back to relative. This still hasnt fixed the issue. Is there any way to set this dialogue back to "Factory Defualt"

The employee is acting through screenshots. All worked well using 2009 Revit or Architecture on XP machines. However, we added new faster Windows 7 machines with 2012 products. A pop up box appears asking far administration credentials before he can use autocad. I went into SAFE mode to see what would happen and the same action resulted. I went into SAFE mode because all security programs would be off.

I went to see what the default browser but it only shows "Reg_SZ" in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOThttpshellopencommand. I want to verify what my default browser is. Isn't that what GIMP will use as the browser? Why does GIMP use the NotePad program to display the user manual when I have the preferences set to local access (on my computer)? The name of the NotePad file is "gimp-concepts-usage".
I have a users who cannot change parameter values for iLogic unless user is a local admin on the workstation. This machine has just been upgrade to Inventor 2013.

I recently got LR4. I tried to put some brushes in the local adjustment folder and there is none! SO what do I do now. I've got pictures to edit and correct and I need these brushes...now.
Here is a screen shot of what is in my LR4 folder.
I just downloaded the 5.2 beta and when trying to locate presets and use brushes, there Local Adjustment Folder did not download the with package. So I uninstalled and re-downloaded and it happened again.

How can I get rid of this? I do not see any options in preferences to turn this off. None of the Nuts & bolts will show up on the laptop version. Got a new desktop computer. Same problem. My completed version doesn't show the content center items, Hence drawings & assemblies are always un-resolved. How can I get the Content center files to show up without deleting and reinserting the items.
Also how can I make the content center parts I place into the model reside in the local path.
Why the Autobackup in X5 is older than the last save. I wonder how many people are losing work because they save over their original file after a crash.

By default the presets folder is located at C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingAdobe. I use Lightroom on both a desktop and laptop and ideally I'd like to sync the presets between them by moving the presets folder to my SkyDrive folder. This way if I create a new preset on one device, it will automatically sync to the other device via SkyDrive.
Yes I realize I can store presets within the catalog folder and I could move my catalog to a SkyDrive folder which would technically accomplish my goal. However that would require sync'ing my entire catalog which I do not want to do; that would generate a lot of syncing traffic back and forth all the time. So I want my catalog and my presets in seperate locations, and I want to define where my presets are stored, which I haven't seen an option for.
Got a new computer. Copied and upgraded Photoshop CS2 to CS5. I would like to give the old computer to a family member or friend. Will they be able to use the CS2 on the old machine? (an iMac 10.6) or is that the end of that CS2?

Whenever I attempt to make local adjustments - using either the standard presets or custom settings - all the adjustments made are applied to the entire image, not just locally. Density and flow are set to my typical values and Show Selected Mask Overlay shows the extent of the applied effect, but whatever adjustment I make is applied generally, over the entire photo, rather than to the selected adjustment area.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI need my users to pick a point p, enter a distance r and a direction v. A new point should be created r units away in vectorial direction. Therefore, the new point is located on an imaginary circle with radius r and center p.
Currently, the user picks the first point and enters a distance. Then, he has to pick another point (Editor.GetPoint with UseBasePoint = true), I calculate the vector between both points, create a new point (with location = BasePoint.location) and translate it d units in vectorial direction. This works of course, but the problem is, that the user doesn't see directly, where his new point is located, since he may pick a point closer to or farther away then r units.
Naively spoken, I want to restrict the line between BasePoint and new point while prompting the user to a fixed length. Native calls to ObjectARX-methods would be also okay.
Before when I was creating models the origin (0,0,0) was always set in the snap point i started the line in. Now suddenly something happend and now 0,0,0 is always starting in the Original XYZ point.
How do I get back to the old settings?
I had to re install Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extend but now every time I try to start it, it errors out withe the following:
"Could not load the user measurement data point presets file because the file name was not valid."
and "Could not load the user measurement scale presets file because the file name was not valid."

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have created user defiined properties to add up to 5 inverts to a topo point object. Each consists of the direction of the invert as an enumerated list that can be picked from (N, NE, S, SE, etc) and the second is the measured distance from rim down to IE. I created these in order IE1_Dir, IE1_Meas, IE2_Dir, IE2_Meas, etc and the first time I used it everything worked fine and was in the proper order. Now after opening the drawing for a 2nd time all of the UDP's are scrambled making it a bit of a PITA to enter into the proper fields.
I do not see any logical order to why it is displaying this way as if it was in order of creation or alphebetical it would not have changed. Is there any way to correct this or is this a case of Civil 3D is going to do whatever it wants to do?
I've created a 23-minute video I want to burn to DVD in VS Pro 5...
At the point where I select BURN in the burning process, I get hit with a message telling me that my working folder path "may not have enough space" to allowing burning. The message advises me to change the working folder path in Preferences to enable burning. The message notes the working folder path as C:Users[My initials]DocumentsCorel Video Studio Pro15.0...
That path does exist on Drive C (where there's only around 5 Gig of space left), but when I go into Preferences to change the working folder, Preferences shows it having a path on Drive F (where there's 1.47 Terrabytes of space!)
So, how can I change the working folder path to Drive F from Drive C, when the project Preferences show the working folder path to be on Drive F, the the program itself claims the path to be on Drive C (and a search shows such a path)?

I've been trying to install autocad but seem to fail because of my installation path?
I'm pretty confused of the fact that the installation path is not my default folder and when I tried to change it back, there's no way to do so. I've attached a copy of what's happening whenever I try to install it to have a better understanding of the issue. I thought it was my computer at first, but I checked all my settings and my installation path is steadily in (C folder..however autocad aims to be installed in a different path (D and then freezes. I clicked on all 3 options at the bottom (Installation - system requirements...) but nothing allows me to change back my path folder so that the installation can take place.
I am organizing my photos, and used a plug-in that keyworded all my duplicates and put them in a Smart Collection. I would like to see the folder path for each duplicate photo within the details of the grid. That is, without having to r-click and choose "show in explorer" for each photo.
