View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Photoshop CS for a user. After installing, I ran the program without issue. When the user logged in and tried to run it the following error was displayed: "Current user account does not have privileges to perform product activiation. Run this application from a user account with administrative priveleges or contact your system administrator." We do not allow any users to run as administrators at the company I work for. We are willing to elevate permissions for users if a program references files that standard users do not typically have access to. We attempted giving full control to the Photoshop folder but that did not work. Has anyone run into this error and found where the permissions need to be changed?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've seen several similar threads with problems with Bridge, nothing recent with run issues with Photoshop CS6. I have installed most of the programs downloaded from the Cloud. Most run. So far, I've found Bridge, Encore and Indesign encounter a "Problem" upon opening and close with no further message or details. Dreamwever, Flash, Illustrator and Premiere run as far as I've tested.
From my user account Photoshop CS6 brings up a message about a locked scratch file and cannot run. I can start PS CS6 using Run As Admin and everything seems to run fine. Changing permissions on discs and on my user account still has PS CS6 fail to start. I've read similar posts on earlier releases. I have tried purging the preferences, both manually and using the crtl+shift+alt start. I still cannot get PS CS6 to run from my user account.

Program itself starts nicely, but if I try to open a file or create a new file, cs4 crashes. This happens if I'm logged as user.
IF I start cs4 as administrator (or via "run as administrator"), program works ok.
Already updated drivers and updates cs4 to 11.01...
I have had a problem with the Nik Software Silver Efex Pro (SEP) plugin running extremely slowly, but only at certain times. It's been pretty good for the past few months, but it suddenly took a nose-dive a few days ago. It takes ages to load the presets and to process the image in Photoshop once I have made my selections in SEP. I just thought that as SEP is a direct plugin to CS6 Photoshop then perhaps it's something to do with the way Photoshop itself runs. I switched the running of Photoshop to 'Run as administrator' (just right click the program in the start menu and go to compatibility tab) and SEP now runs extremely fast. why running as Admin should make such a difference? Are there any problems in running in Admin mode?
I run Norton Internet Security, and thought that as I'm now OK in Admin mode it might be a virus-checker problem, and running in Admin mode was getting around the problem. I do have both versions of Photoshop (32 and 64 bit) included to 'allow' access in Norton. Here is my system config. My PC runs very well in all other respects.

I have CS6 running on an SSD. Initially with CS6 Beta I found I had to run as Administrator. I eventually discovered how to run as a user by going into Preferences / Performance and setting my scratch disk to my hard drive.
now I have the CS6 release. I deleted CS6 Beta as instructed and followed directions for the install. CS6 works fine except for the bugs that I reported in the beta forum . My problem is now that Bridge insists on running as Administrator. If I try and run it as a user, it comes up and quits immediately. It doesn't make a wisp of difference where I set my Cache file, SSD or hard drive. I can even deal with that, however now I can't start Bridge from Photoshop! I click on File / Browse in Bridge and nothing happens. If I start Bridge then go to Photoshop and click on File / Browse in Bridge, still nothing happens. I have to manually switch to the Bridge window.
I'm logged in as local administrator to Windows 7 64bit OS and everytime I tried to install CS5.5 Master I kept getting this message, "Administrator privilege are required to install" I can install any program but just not CS5.5.

We originally had some install issues, but a clean install and update to .NET framework 4.0 has seemed to finally be able to allow us to install the software. During installation the AV software was deactivated. User has full admin rights. Now when he double clicks the icon to launch the software he's receiving an error dialog box that is titled "Exception in acmgd.dll ARX Command". The only way he can get it to run correctly is to right click on the icon and select "Run As Administrator".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using PS CS6 on my win7 computer. This is my issue: I want to change the blue color of this button[URL]...to this green color([URL].... I want to have the color exactly the same. So
1. I open the green color button, in Image->Adjustments->Replace color, I got the property of the color, which is: H:110 S:62 B:73 R:90 G:186 B:71, L:68 a:-46 b:48 C:67 M:0 Y:99 K:0 #5aba47, I wrote down these values,
2. I open the blue color button, in Image->Adjustments->Replace color, replacement->result, I input all the values of green color, and I save the file. They are all png format.
3. I open the one I just made[URL]... I found the value is different from what I have input, the value was changed to H:110 S:60 B:72 R:91 G:183 B:71, L:67 a:-44 b:46 C:68 M Y:99 K:0 #5bb749
So why this happened(value changed)? And if I want to make the color of two buttons EXACTLY the same, is there any way I can do it in PS?
I just updated my PS to 13.1 and after i restarted my system and continued to work with PS, it freezes plenty of times.
At first it was at random but then i could reproduce the error. When i try to scroll to the end of the styles list, PS will display the styles list not properly (see image below). When this happens i can't press anything else. I have to kill PS via the Task Manager.Never had a problem with PS before neither did i update something else in the meantime.
My System:
Intel Core i5 2500K
16 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce GTS 450Samsung SSD 830 Series
Windows 7 64Bit (Service Pack1)
I did a system restore now because i have to finish my work. PS 13.0.1 works fine, no issues. But not to update can't be the final solution...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been haveing severe catalog issues for the last week after installing Windows 7.
I decided to insert my original HDD in my laptop, along with the new HDD and Windows 7. I then deleted the MY Pictures folder from the new HDD and copied the My Pictures folder from my old HDD to the new.
Since I felt my newly restored catalog file was corrupted, I wanted to copy the catalog file from my old HDD to the new one. I renamed the folder on my old drive by appending 'old' to the end of it, doing the same to the catalog .db file within the folder, then dragged the folder to the Program Data/Adobe/Elements Data/Catalogs folder.
I fired up PSE9 holding the Shift key to select the catalog that I was using on my old drive. It would not let me select the folder or find the catalog file in the folder. I tried creating a new catalog file, but the message "Catalog file with same name already exists in that folder".
I then just tried to point to the catalog file on my old drive, (btw, using 'custom' option in the catalog management window), and it still would not let me open the file. I say it won't let me open the catalog because, when I navigate to the folder with the catalog name, even single and double clicking on it, I don't get the 'Open' button on the Catalog Management window highlighted.
Is there something I am missing about catalog files? Do the have to be registered somehow within Elements before I can use them.
We are using .cuix file which gives access to tools in custom .arx file in AutoCAD 2012/2013. We load the menu using the .bundle mechanism and the plug-in - using button from the menu. If the user is Administrator (or executes AutoCAD as Administrator) the menu, toolbars and ribbons are loaded correctly and the user can load and unload the application (lisp function in .mnl file is used for that), but if the user is not an administrator either the menu, toolbars and ribbons are not correctly loaded or they are loaded, but the user can not load the application.
We have found that a probable cause for this behaviour is that AutoCAD tries to create/renew the .mnr file when first loading a .cuix file and since the user has no administrator rights this can't be done in the "C:Program FilesAutodeskApplicationPlugins" folder where the bundle is and AutoCAD creates the .mnr file in its own support folder ("C:Users<User>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 2012R18.2...Support") together with a copy of the .cuix file and changes the path for loading the .cuix file to this location. Since the .mnl file containing the function for loading/unloading is not copied with the .cuix file the application can not be loaded.
The user has to delete the created files under the support path of AutoCAD, unload the .cuix file and then reload it from the correct location to resolve the problem. Restarting AutoCAD leads to the same problem.
Is there a way to prevent this behavior other then running AutoCAD as administrator (that is not always an option)?
I've combed through the forums and tried every fix that I've read, however nothing has worked. I've just been given a new work laptop with a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition running SP1. Most the the Creative Suite misbehaves with respect to the Windows 7 taskbar. One behavior that's particularly unproductive is seeing a bunch of gray icons for open application windows, and having the associated full size peek image grayed out too. I frequently work with many open image windows that I prefer to keep undocked. If they're minimized, more often than not there's a gray taskbar preview.
Once I click on the thumbnail and activate a window, the thumbnail taskbar image updates. But when I switch between applications, the updated thumbnails will usually go blank next time I peek at the PS6 taskbar.
