On one of my coworkers computer inventor display is not right. I have tried reinstalling vga drivers and tried to tweak all the display options but nothing happened. see attached showing how the text look like.
Its Inventor 2011, Windows XP64, Quadro200.
I used Solid Edge for my entire professional career. One thing that is driving me batty is how, when necessary in a view for clarity, tangent lines are displayed and how to change them, or at the very least, come up with a work around to display them how is needed. In general, tangent lines are first, supposed to be of thinner lineweight, but also, are not supposed to extend all the way across the surface of a part, they are to leave a small gap.
I have found and tried the option of displaying tangent lines, and also have checked the for shorten option. The issue is, in many of the parts the gap produced in HUGE. So I've spent a few hours tinkering, and I finally decided to try and define a new linetype using autocad express tools. So I tried this, but to my dismay I haven't been able to set up a linetype that only has a gap at the end. See attached jpeg for illustration.
The options window will not display when typing "options" in the command line or selecting from the drop down. The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. I have tried restarting CAD and rebooting my computer with not luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with the secondary display (window, in my case; only one monitor). When I first open the secondary display, either with a keyboard shortcut or by clicking, all is fabulous. The display modes (Grid, Loupe, Compare, Survey) are visible & clickable, as is thumbnail slider, file path. If I click or keyboard command to Loupe view, Normal, Live & Locked modes are available. However, if I close the window and then want to open it up later in my workflow, all of the aforementioned functions disappear. I'm able to bring up the Filter view, and can technically still work off the menu bar (and keyboard shortcuts, if remembered). But only if I restart the program do the full set of functions become visible again. The arrows at top & bottom don't collapse/expand to show anything more than a black border where the display & mode options once were.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI find it a little hard to use the mouse scroll button for panning and rotating. Often I tend to zoom the scene or in the act of balance the scroll button when pressing it, I don't get the right tool and have to press it again, and that makes it not as intuitive as I would like to. I wounder if it's possible to alter the way I pan and rotate? Can I place the pan and rotate function at the right mouse button? Or is there mouses on the market that have a middle mouse button AND a scroll wheel so I can separate the pan/rotate from the zoom?

I have come a long way since, getting to know the software and finishing all of the chassis. However, whilst editing parts of the car's bottom side, I noticed that when viewed from this perspective it is badly out of shape. When compared to a real model, one can see that the body is way too narrow in between the tires, making the whole thing kinda look like a bone. I have attached pictures of both, the unedited 3d model I purchased as well as a real model which I know to be very accurate to the real thing, to show you what I mean.Â

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had to reset prefs, so I deleted the .psp and located my custom file. It didn't work. I had weird happenings, like all the crop tool would show is crop in pixels, which refused to change to inches. So I reloaded defaults. Later, I found another copy on a different HD of the same pref file, loaded that and it ran fine, until I tried to use my custom hotkey setup. All gone!! I am back to default settings. I looked for the saved version, but all I find is the default file. Is it saved somewhere except the Short cut folder, and if so, where, and if not, why not? How can I have created custom settings, saved them then lose them to reset prefs?

I found it up here on the download extra plug-in page but still didn't show up when I downloaded the plug-in. Thought I installed them correctly, but maybe not. I'm a very light, occasional Gimp user and don't know what's happened to the text tool (I'm using v2.8.4).
When using the text too, some letters kick out of the text tool and open other tool options. Small "l" opens the blend tool. Small "b" opens path tool. Big "B" opens bucket fill.
What happened to the hand drag sliders in CS6? You know when you would create an adjustment layer and then you could hover below the sliders and just start dragging either way? And you could option+double click and reset the value to 0. Is this functionality still in CS6?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am detailing a drawing with typical hole dimensions on a piece of steel angle. The drawing is setup such that the fabricator will have two options for each end of the steel angle. I have created two parts with the two options per end and have placed them outside of the page for reference.
I would like to reference each end of each piece, so that there are four pairs of views on the page (the two legs of the angle at each of the four ends), aligned in a grid. I have determined the best way to do this is with detail views. (Using breaks causes the break sign to appear huge, given the large gap I want between views. Using cropped views does not make it obvious that each end is a cutaway.)
My issue now is aligning the eight views. I know of the align options (horizontal, vertical, and in position), but they align to the "origin" of each detail, which is the center. With the angles being the same size, this works fine horizontally, but vertically, the pieces will never line up exactly, which is crucial to at least lining up the two legs of a single angle. The best I seem to be able to do is get the detail sizes as close to exact as possible so the centers come close to lining up. Even creating a projected view from a detail treats the cutaway end as part of the geometry, making it look a bit ridiculous.
way to precisely line up the views? I have done extensive searching and am confident that there is no inherent way to align based on a point or edge (seems like a deficiency on Autodesk's part), but is there a way to move the origin of a detail or something like that?
When I click Application Options it opens up, but the window doesn't show up, eveything else in the program gets disabled and I am able to hit Esc to get out of it.Â
