Photoshop :: What Happened To Hand Drag Sliders In CS6
Sep 11, 2012
What happened to the hand drag sliders in CS6? You know when you would create an adjustment layer and then you could hover below the sliders and just start dragging either way? And you could option+double click and reset the value to 0. Is this functionality still in CS6?
I have both cs2 and 3 installed using vista and it only happens on cs3.
when i zoom in to paint on a pictures, usually at 100% or more i can paint ok but when i press the space bar down to use the hand tool and go back to painting all of a sudden there is a delayed slow pen drag on the screen.
Windows 7 - 4 gig RAM I use expert mode hand tool is selected, but it will not drag image. I can vertical scroll with mouse wheel. I cannot select scroll bar handles, but I can scroll by clicking blank agacent space. I have reset preferences to defaults but no change.
I was having a few issues with shift-constrain resizing not working, and option-drag duplication not working, also using the space bar to move the document around the viewport.
OSX 10.9, InDesign 9.2.1.
I reset the preferences, restarted which failed to solve the problem. However once I updated my Wacom driver from 6.3.3 to the latest 6.3.8-2 that seemed to solve the problem.
I upgraded to LR4 from LR3. After opening LR4 I realized that the Develop/Basic menu sliders are identical to LR3, i.e., Exposure, Recovery, Fill Light, Blacks, Contrast, Clarity, Vibrance and Saturation.
I have a modeled right hand part and a detail drawing of that right hand part with a pin that defines r.h from l.h. and I would like to save them as a left hand part then change the model by reversing the pin. How would I proceed with this task?
In 5.5 I could choose File...Export...as Gif, from the drop down menu.
In Photoshop 7 I don't have that option.Where is it now?
Also, about Illustrator 10... when I open a Photoshop file in Illustrator 10 and select the eyedropper tool I am unable to sample any color from the PSD file.
I had to reset prefs, so I deleted the .psp and located my custom file. It didn't work. I had weird happenings, like all the crop tool would show is crop in pixels, which refused to change to inches. So I reloaded defaults. Later, I found another copy on a different HD of the same pref file, loaded that and it ran fine, until I tried to use my custom hotkey setup. All gone!! I am back to default settings. I looked for the saved version, but all I find is the default file. Is it saved somewhere except the Short cut folder, and if so, where, and if not, why not? How can I have created custom settings, saved them then lose them to reset prefs?
Just installed CS4 and was checking to make sure all the things I use on a regular basis is there. It seems that the Contact Sheet II has been removed. I found it up here on the download extra plug-in page but still didn't show up when I downloaded the plug-in. Thought I installed them correctly, but maybe not. Need this badly, use it for printing out thumbnails of all photo shoots.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a very annoying problem. It seems like everytime i choose the "Rounded rectangle shape tool" it makes Squares not rounded. Does anyone know why this is happening? I am using Adobe Photoshop CS (8.0) for Windows.
I just installed PS CS6 this evening on my 32-bit Win7 laptop and on my 64-bit Win7 workstation.
Everything went just fine for the installation on both PCs. I always go about setting up my Preferences right away, and I immediately noticed the handy toolbar icon in PS for jumping over to Bridge is gone.
I see that CNTL + ALT + O will do it, but hey! Once in Bridge, the toolbar icon to jump back to PS is still there (the little boomerang icon). Is it really gone, or is there something that I need to change to have it suddenly re-appear?
I'm trying to use the rect marquee tool to do a selection and then crop a photo but when I do nothing happens. Â A couple of strange things have/are happening: Â -At one point, while I was in transform selection I there was added space around the marquee, which became the new edge, as opposed to the marquee itself. Â -The marquee is in the shape of a rounded rectangle.
In my Adobe Premire Pro CS6 project, When I select a clip that I want to drag down into the editing section it only allows me to drag the video and NOT the audio. I need both video and audio and it wont let me, I don't think I clicked anything wrong but
I'm a very light, occasional Gimp user and don't know what's happened to the text tool (I'm using v2.8.4).
When using the text too, some letters kick out of the text tool and open other tool options. Small "l" opens the blend tool. Small "b" opens path tool. Big "B" opens bucket fill.
On one of my coworkers computer inventor display is not right. I have tried reinstalling vga drivers and tried to tweak all the display options but nothing happened. see attached showing how the text look like.
They are all gone in my parts and assemblies. Only are they visible in the browser when I open a particular part or assembly of the parent. Need them for constraints .
I am learning Photoshop from an excellent book by Scott Kelby. He has a section which clearly explains the use of Chromatic sliders. All I have is a check box. How do I get to these sliders? I have CS5.
why there are scrubby sliders as well as the regular controls in Photoshop and other Adobe products. Obviously I must be missing something; but to my eye, this appears to be feature redundancy.
I edit color in LAB mode. In CS3 I would use the eyedropper tool to select a neutral point and then a levels layer to adjust the color while I was watching the LAB sliders in the color panel. Quick and easy.
Now the problem. In CS4 the color panel changes to greyscale when the levels layer is highlighted. How do I make the LAB sliders sticky? If I edit the color with simply a levels adjustment (not layer) it still works the old way I am used to. I toggled the dynamic slider preference to no avail and I can't find anything else I can change.
iMac, OS 10.8.5 Photoshop CS 6. I have activated the Graphics Display Unit (or whatever it is called) and, with an image in Photoshop and its Layer selected, I do Filters > Render > Lighting Effects. I get the panel on the right called Properties and under it some sliders for Color, Hotspot, etc. Â Burt moving the sliders makes no change to the image. Tutorials say that I should get a white elliptical shape with white blobs which should allow me to alter the lighting effects, ("Lighting Controls"?) but nothing appears. The tutorials show a "Menu Bar" should appear just under the three coloured blobs at the top left of the main window. That "Menu Bar" shows, from left to right, something like: a light bulb; Presets-Custom; Lights and three tiny blobs; some thing else; and at the right end, a check; Preview; Cancel; and OK in blue. Â I think that "Menu Bar" with Preview checked must appear before I can use the lighting controls on the image. How the heck do I get to see a preview so that I can see and use the lighting controls?
In CS3 after clicking onto the slider "triangle" I can then adjust it with the mouse wheel. I don't appear to be able to do this in CS6. Can this be remedied?
When dragging various sliders in Photoshop CS5, very often these sliders get "stuck" and move with the mouse even though you have released the mouse. Say you are dragging a slider to set the brush opacity to 50%. When you have set it to 50%, you release the mouse and move it away from the slider, only to find that the opacity still increases or decreases as you move your mouse. You have to click again to fix this, but then of course you have to go back and do it again. Â Below is a small illustration (I can't take a screenshot of my mouse) of an example of when this happens:
This happens to me around once every 5 times I use a slider, i.e. extremely often. As you can imagine, it's very annoying and frustrating.I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, and I never use Photoshop without it so I cannot confirm whether this bug happens with a mouse or just the tablet. It doesn't just happen like on the above illustration, but also with any slider such as those in Adjustment Layers and Filters. The bug does not happen when using tools on the canvas. So the Brush tool, and every other tool, works fine and never gets "stuck".I have the latest version of Photoshop CS5.This is a bug that has always been in CS5 since the first version, and it has not been in previous versions of Photoshop.  Late 2008 15" MacBook Pro OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7 (but the problem has existed way before 10.6.7) Photoshop CS5 version 12.0.2
I've seen color gradations in the tint sliders (which makes selecting exactly what color hue you're shooting for easier). Is this a feature only in CS3 and above (just like the histogram display in the curves palette)?
