I've seen color gradations in the tint sliders (which makes selecting exactly what color hue you're shooting for easier). Is this a feature only in CS3 and above (just like the histogram display in the curves palette)?

I'm trying to change the color scheme on a model/figure I photographed, but I don't know how. I've done a search in the help field, but it pulls up a ton of unrelated articles.Example of what I'd like to do: I have a photo of a model jet that is red, black, and white. I want to change the red to blue without changing the overall look of the color. I'm not sure how to articulate this, but I want to maintain the hue, saturation and variation in the color. If I select and delete the red, then fill the area using the paint bucket the new color is flat and uninspiring.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to LR4 from LR3. After opening LR4 I realized that the Develop/Basic menu sliders are identical to LR3, i.e., Exposure, Recovery, Fill Light, Blacks, Contrast, Clarity, Vibrance and Saturation.

The only think left i can not do this for is color temp and tint.
Any way i can create presets with just adjustments for temp and tint separately or only both together?

And why does Illustrator's "help" file refer to them as "stops" but they're called sliders inside the app?
As you can see here, my sliders (the ones on the left) have lost their color & shadows!
Mine used to look like the ones on the right, then at some point they got to be a little desaturated... then a little while later they came to be what is on the left!
I'm would guess it's just some unfortunate hotkey I accidentally used (multiple times), but I've been unable to find anything about it...
I've tried resetting all the preferences in Lightroom, deleting plist files from the Library folder & even contacted adobe support though chat, but all to no avail.
We get artwork from outside agencies with color boxes like those shown (CMYK, in percentages of 30, 50 and 100). Their color names may vary, or often the colors aren't in their color palette at all. I am supposed to recolor the boxes with our standard-named, global colors in my own swatch library. Two questions:
1. Is there a way to grab the three cyan boxes (for example), and recolor them with the global Cyan swatch, WITHOUT having the %tint in all three boxes become 100%?
What I do now, over and over in each file we receive: Select the three Cyan boxes, click on the "C" global swatch in my palette, watch them all change to 100%C. Then manually click on the left cyan box and change the tint back to 30%, and for the middle box, change it back to 50%. Etc. for the other colors. This is a PITA, and it just seems like there should be a quicker way.
2. Is there way to then recolor ALL the cyan elements (strokes, fills, gradients) used in the art with the same global cyan swatch, without changing the tints?

Now in Lightroom 5 I've noticed that in the Basic module the "temp" and "tint" slider buttons no longer appear in color, but rather in the same grayscale as the rest of the slider buttons. They still function normally but having the color appear on the slider worked for me in my workflow. how (or even if) it's possible to get the color back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having this problem whenever I synchronize a folder that images have been added into.
Example: I have a folder of images in LR; I export all those images with a watermark, resized, etc. into a separate folder of proofs; even though I performed that batch process using LR, for some reason the app still won't see those images until I synchronize; when I do synchronize, it is shifting the color temp to +8 and the tint to -11; I then have to go back and undo that color temp shift.
How do I get LR to stop changing the color temp of images when synchronizing?
Lightroom 5.2 I have been trieing to copy and paste settings from one .dng file into the next in the develop module. I tried to copy (shift command c) the color temperature and tint and paste in the other file (shift command v) but nor Kelvin nor green magenta balance changes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm making a simple template to laser cut. The laser cutter acts as a printer and you choose the power, speed, etc. for each color that is in the document. I only want to cut, so I only have RGB red lines at 0.001 pt thickness. Or at least that was the plan. One of the shapes in my template has come out a different red (the swatches were CMYK despite the document colour mode being RGB). I would now like to select all the paths in the document and make them all RGB red. However, when I open the color panel from the dock the sliders are CMYK, again this is despite the document color mode being RGB:
How do I change all the paths to be RGB red?How do I stop Illustrator offering me CMYK options and swatches and offering RGB instead?
I have been trying to mess with and target "tints" via javascript but either I am not understanding something or it cant be targeted as I had hoped, so I am looking for direction and guidance. I have a spot color assigned in the color swatches palette, and have drawn a few boxes on the page using this spot swatch. I then try to alter the tint using JS code.

The alert shows a change taking place but it never gets applied to the item, the actual item never gets changed. I know things are properly targeted as I can change other attributes fine. When I look in the JS documentation it just shows for when creating a new spot, not for ones that already exist on items, I cant seem to find an example otherwise.
Can tint be adjusted for items on the page that have a spot color applied?
How do I return the color gradient or gray scale to beneath the sliders. They are all just currently gray. The whole process just slows me down not seeing the resepctive colors or greys beneath the sliders.

And by that I don't mean just correcting the tint, I mean converting a regular photo into one that has a single color tint (e.g., yellow, red, etc.). I've tried graying it out and then adding a transparent color layer over it, but I'm not getting the result I'm looking for.
Also, while I'm at it, are there any (current) books out that cover PhotoPAINT in depth? I know that the official DRAW book has a section on it, but it's pretty basic.
I'm new to Photoshop. Currently, Im learning Photoshop through Adobe Photoshop CS6 Classroom in a Book. I found out that the camera raw plug-in seems weird.
This is the original photo.
When I opened it in Camera Raw, the color of the photo distorted. ( I didn't do anything on it yet. )
Is it caused by software problems? Or did I accidentally tick something in the Setting/Preferences?
I'm using CS3. In the Camera Raw 4.6 import window the color looks great. When I get the image into Photoshop the color looks horrible. I know it's the color profile that Raw is assigning. My question... is there a way to disable the color profile conversion coming from Camera Raw?
I've always had great results without using profiles and now this alters my color. I've even tried to go in and force the image to use a different color profile but at this point the damage has been done by the camera raw plugin.
I have an image that I'd like to give a coloured tint to, let's say pink. Similar to desaturating the colour of an image, but with a coloured tint.

I don't know how to perform this blue tinting on my image in Photoshop.
i dont believe its been like this the whole time i've had photoshop. but anyways. ANYTHING in photoshop has a bit of a pink tint to it. tho i can save whatever im working on, look at it with another app. and it will be fine. i have an example here.

I'm a Photoshop CS4 convert and until recently have been printing beautiful photos using my Canon Pixma MP800. Recently I got a new computer, a HP Z400 Workstation. Runs perfectly, except now I find that my photos are printing out with this disguting magenta tint. I've recalibrated the screen and made sure the proper printer drivers were selected, uuninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers from Canon's website, unset and reset my printer as the default printer, checked all my print settings and color settings in Photoshop, made sure I had the correct paper settings selected and tried both Printer manages color and Photoshop manages color, all to no avail.I've spoken to Canon Tech Support and verified that the printer is printing correctly. I've printed out pictures that I've downloaded from the internet and that are in my Sample Photos folder in My documents and the color is perfect. But as soon as I go to print anything that has been through Photoshop, the magenta returns.

why my pictures won't appear correctly on the screen after loading them.
I went to Image -> Mode -> RGB but it didn't change. I am opening .jpg files.
I have recently installed CS3 and it seems every picture i throw in there will get a reddish tint to the skin of the person in the photo. Makes everyone look like they have a sunburn. I'm not sure if its some filter that is being applied or what. In the windows preview for this images I do not have this problem. Paint and Adobe Bridge CS3 also do not have this issue.

I have taken several photos with an infared camera but for some reason when i have opened the photos they all seem to be very 'red'. These photos are important so i just wanted to see if anyone could offer me some advise on how to filter out the redness in photoshop to get the picture back to its original state.

Everything was great. I closed out and then restarted the program a little later, but now the photos are coming up with a green tint. But if I preview them in the Microsoft image viewer or paint or anything else they look fine.

View 16 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed that when I print on a certain paper (Epson Premium Ultra Luster Photo Paper) that a blue tint is being printed on the paper along with the image. This seems to be occurring whether I use a standard .icc file or a customized .icc file for this paper. Am using Adobe CS5 to manage colors, rendering intent relative colorometric. Am using an iMac with 10.6.8. and Epson 3880 printer. The only thing I can think that changed is I upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6 a few months back. If you look along the sides of the image below you can see what I'm getting.
Just for the heck of it, I just printed the same image with Photoshop Elements 9, and I am not getting this blue cast.
I just bought a MacBook Pro three weeks ago. I'm running Mountain Lion. Also, I have my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS6.
Something very unusual is happening. I'm a Graphic Designer and currently doing an Interior Design major. I calibrated my monitor perfectly. But now, ever since I installed CS6, every time I open Photoshop, a bluish tint sets on the screen, affecting every program running (browsers, for example) and it's very annoying (not to mention it disrupts any color calibration I made to my monitor). The only solution to this problem is closing Photoshop (the problem persists even if I minimize Photoshop to use another program).
I tried opening Illustrator and it works fine. Only with Photoshop this is happening.
I searched on Apple discussion boards for similar cases and found nothing.
What's interesting, I took screenshots to send them to a friend and the screenshots don't seem to be affected by this phenomenon.
